Franchise fatigue is what happens when you have a mediocre creative team churning out mediocre movies whose main draw is the franchise name. If you turn out a quality product you get movie series that last as long as James Bond.

Quote:Of course Marvel has actually been making movies in recent years while DC hasn't. I mean in recent years Marvel has turned out 3 X-Men flicks, 3 Spider-Man, 2 Fantastic Four, 2 Hulk, 2 Iron Man, Wolverine, Daredevil, Elektra, Punisher...while DC has turned out 2 Batman movies and 1 Superman movie. And yes, I know there's also been DC based movies like Watchmen and V for Vendetta but I'm not counting those since they're separate from the main DC universe. And instead of making another thread for this, Ill just toss it in here.
Geoff Johns explains why there are no plans for a Justice League of America movie.
Apparently DC heroes are so big they're unfilmable so perhaps Marvel was smart to go with smaller heroes. -
You think the pregnancy was accelerated, wait until the kid pops up again later in the season as the now teenaged Dr. Cee.

Can't say I'm a fan of their version of Darkseid. I shouldn't be surprised but after last season I'd had hopes. Seems like it's Doomsday all over again.

I have to say, if IMdb.com's plot summary for tonight's episode is accurate I'm going to be severely disappointed. Of course being severely disappointed by Smallville is nothing new.

Quote:Well, we don't know how far the shuttle crashed from the stargate. For all we know it was an hour away over rugged terrain. But yeah, Riley's death was very poorly written like most things on the show. And yeah, at some point Young's actions will come back to bite him in the ***.Not just that, i can kinda buy the idea that when on the wreck that freeing him would kill him by taking the pressure off the wound, but once the gate is working and you can basicy blink and be back on the ship, why not atleast try. Even if they basic med kit wasnt prepared for the problem you now have access to everything and all the supplies, you can go back to the ship and get what you need, come back, free him and try and get him to the ship. You can use the stones to have a real doctor waiting or even come to the planet with you.
Sure its a life threatening injury and he could have died anyway, but i fail to see, after everything else in the series, why this became a "ill kill you quietly" moment other then im sure at some point the truth will come out at some inopprotune moment when Young is trying to inspire confidence in himself with the crew. -
I don't think it is the boss. If he was knowingly responsible for their powers I would think he'd be having the family monitored and would know what Jim is up to. It's not like he and George are being super sneaky right now. And that, in turn, would give him a good starting point for figuring out what happened to the teleporter instead of what his minion has been doing instead.
My money is still on Stephanie's super plant. -

Quote:Hey, imagine the tribute scene they could have done on the holodeck. These kinds of "surprising screen tests" happen all the time in Hollywood.
I've heard about this one several times over the years.
While Lynda Carter is a decent enough actress and probably could have handled being in a Star Trek series I almost think the Wonder Woman thing typecasted her too much for any other established franchise like that. If she had been the captain on Voyager I would have kept expecting her to solve all their problems by spinning into her Wonder Woman outfit and deflecting phaser blasts with her bracelets. -
You've never owned a cat I can see.

It would be better for them just to treat the series as an Elseworlds story. Or perhaps a different Earth than the main DC universe Earth. They have reestablished the multiverse haven't they?

I don't know that I'd call him the meta of the week given that he's attached to the big bad and he'll obviously be around for more. He is nasty though and his power is one that could cause problems for both of the parents.

They didn't completely ignore it. Did you catch the name of the talk radio host that Cat Grant listens to? Godfrey. As in Glorious Godfrey, one of Darkseid's lieutenants. It's Godfrey's job to turn humanity against the superheroes and that's just what he appears to be doing. So they haven't taken a break from the big season arc, it's just not really blatantly in your face.
As for Oliver letting Rick Flagg go, it's not like he has a whole lot of choice in the matter unless he's prepared to kill Flagg. It's not like there's a whole lot of physical evidence showing that Flagg kidnapped and interrogated him. It would be just Oliver's word against Flagg's and he'd have to expose himself as Green Arrow. -
No, it'll be great. You see Luthor and Zod are partners in this real estate scheme...

Quote:Obviously it should be Molly C. Quinn.I think it's hilarious that there are people on those boards seriously suggesting Catherine Tate and Scarlette Johanson for the role of Mary Jane in this film which is supposed to be set entirely in High School.

Spider-man 3 could have been much, much worse. It could have been Batman & Robin bad.

There's a Batman Twitter feed. I don't Twitter but it would almost be worth signing up just to follow it.

Quote:I have some thoughts on why they made Cat the way they did but I don't want to get the thread locked by going in to them. Suffice to say that I think there's some political stereotyping going on as well as the desire to push Clark to step into the light.This. Dear GOD 10x this.
Cat's point of view is a valid one... but it really feels like A. She doesn't have any valid *reason* for her opinions, and B. She's given it for the sole purpose of pushing Clark into the 'light'. She's just all 'I hate mask wearers. They have something to hide and I fear them for no apparent reason'.
Granted, I missed the first few minutes of the show... so if I missed a valid plot point, I *might* take that back. -

I had forgotten that we saw Cat Grant on the show last season. I can only assume this is a different Cat Grant or she wouldn't have needed to introduce herself to Clark and there surely would have been some discussion as to what had happened to her television show.

Getting the stargate working to travel between Destiny and the Milky Way galaxy doesn't have to be the end of the show. It could just be an evolution. They wouldn't have some of the problems they currently do but I would imagine they'd still want a research team on the Destiny to study it and take stock of whatever it finds. Not to mention someone should probably be keeping on eye on the new aliens.

That was Glorious Godfrey on the radio. There's no supposed to be about it. Darkseid is the big bad for the season.
I did like the way it ultimately worked out with Cat pushing Clark to step into the light though I can't say I particularly cared for this version of Cat. I wasn't real wild about their version of Deadshot either.
I suppose we're going to see the death of Carter before the end of the season. Just wonder if that means we'll also see his and Shayera's rebirth. -
It also helps that the gave Hawkman a breastplate so his physique doesn't have to be quite so perfect.
