Not trying to single out the OP, but I'm amazed at the repeated displays of myopia on these boards. Well, ok maybe not amazed.

But it is, I think, remarkable how many people seem to think the weekly is only for Incarnates.

no, of course I'm not saying it has nothing to do with it

You repeatedly said Incarnate "is the reason for" the weekly, with no qualifiers.

that's clearly misleading, since the WST involves lower level TFs and it gives double XP. We have yet to see WST Hamidon, Cathedral of Pain, or Rikti Mothership Raid, and I'm not sure we will. We might or might not.

No, it's not. The other way is coming in i20.

Not true. First off, they don't drop Shards afaik. Second: "There are many paths to the well," as per Mender Ramiel. That's all the lore I need to justify getting Notice of the Well by helping lower level supers.

Yea, I'm surprised they didn't do this a long time ago. It would be Very easy and would leave open the possibility of adding more Villain specific stuff later.

  4. It's going to very quickly become glaringly obvious how many more TFs there are than SFs.

Open the Shard to the Redside.
  5. If you are directing your pets to attack then they aren't in BG anyway.

MMs aren't really the tanks of redside. Brutes are the tanks of redside. MMs are defenders that come with their own team.

Calling that a problem on this AT is a bit much.

I call it a minor drawback.

One it is harder to control your pets, two the healer is going to have to heal your sorry butt all the dang time.

Being a defensive MM is one thing. But pets should always be on defensive in a fight. Then I tell my pets who to attack and where to go. But that doesn't matter for any mode. You have to control your pets period. You can't just stand around and expect the AI to do everything for you. My thug/pain I keep my pets in defensive then after the tank grabs aggro I tell them to attack his target. And I then switch to different targets when needed. And while doing this I am sitting with the main group healing people, only charging in to use anguishing cry and only after the tank has full control of the mobs.

And by the way a MMs pets can contribute more damage then most toons, if done right. But you have to control them. There is a reason while a full team of MMs can just steam roll about anything in the game.
Maybe you just haven't payed attention. Or maybe it's just because you play /Pain and so have no Soft or Hard Control.

Try playing Storm Summoning. See how well you do with your pets on Defensive.

Defensive Pets Don't Attack Without Direction If Neither They Nor You Get Attacked. Period.
  8. Vanden is absolutely right.

Originally Hurdle was Buffed to be stronger than Swift because toons that focused on Jumping were at a slight disadvantage.

Now that Everyone has both powers that justification is gone.

    Swift should be buffed.
  9. Can't really answer why your pets are dying so much but I will say this:

Leaving your pets on Defensive all the time is a great way to not contribute to a team.

Most teams I play have either so much defense, so much control, or so many debuffs that Defensive MM pets are just going to stand around not doing anything.

This has nothing to do even with the post you're responding to, let anyone the thread.

You have no idea what you're talking about, and this isn't the place to discuss it anyway.
  12. There's another game where the problems being discussed are eliminated in the following way:

When you're in the vehicle All or Nearly All of your standard powers are grayed out and a Completely New UI appears, giving you access to special abilities only usable while in the vehicle.

Wouldn't something like that pretty much solve all the problems that have been brought up?

THEN the issue becomes: such a system pretty much requires brand new content that demands the use of these vehicles, which is not the original idea (sg vehicles to run around the game in).

Which brings us back to the real issue which is that although vehicles are cool, they simply aren't necessary the way the game is designed. Travel powers make them unnecessary, the relatively small size of zones makes them unnecessary, and most "travel" in this game of the distance that might Require a vehicle (even for supers with travel powers) is handled "off panel" while zoning.

"There's a Council base on an island off the Chinese coast. Infiltrate it and take the Base Commander into custody" *Team jumps into a boat in IP* The next thing we see is a splash screen before we zone into the Council Base or an outdoor map of said island. Flying across North America and the Pacific in our SG Airship doesn't get displayed to us. Nor should it.

What exactly happened to them? What is so bad about them? I'm just curious because I don't get whats so horrid about them.

The things that they are good at are not generally valued very highly: Tanking and Single Target Burst Damage. Dechs implied comparison to Stalkers is apt.

I enjoy my PB, but it can't be denied that she's even more of a "jack of all trades, master of none" than my WS. The WS can also be described as "often better than master of one", but the PB can't really.

Sorry about the multi-question thing, but villians are very new to me.
There are some high level controllers that outdamage some Dominators, but for the most part yes Doms do more damage than Controllers.

This is NOT the same as saying that Doms increase a TEAMS damage by more than Controllers. That also varies greatly with the Controller.

Jeez the last time I got a purple drop was months ago and I accidentally sold it at a store. I don't even remember what president was in office the last time I got a purple drop before that.

  16. These are great.

Add me to the votes for:

An SG Base market terminal, perhaps unlockable with a non-Veterans SG badge?

    and

A Craftable Invention Temp Power requiring expensive salvage that lets you access the market interface with a few charges on a very long timer. Maybe 5 or 10 charges, usable once every 1 to 2 hours.

On a Kin you should be able to almost perma Indomitable Will. Spam siphon speed more?

The answer is basically no. The IO will lessen the size or number of Yellow inspirations you'll need.
  19. there are various things to do, most of which have been suggested already, but the big thing to emphasize over and over again is Mez Them Before They Mez You!

So I'm not sure what you meant by 25%.

Also, I'm not sure what you meant by useless, -Recharge remains one of the Most powerful of status effects in PvE.

I think you're getting multiple things confused:

the RESISTANCE Hard Cap for Tankers and Brutes is 90%, for Kheldians and Arachnos it's 85%, for everyone else it's 75%.

the DEFENSE Soft Cap is 45% for All toons.

the DEFENSE Hard Cap is like 300% I think, the only time I ever saw it was in the first mission of Mender Ramiel's arc.

    I don't agree.

Defiance is there PRECISELY for when your lack of mez protection fails you. You're saying I should be Doubly punished because I tried to use the PFF.

It's like you're saying, "I don't want to get mezzed, so to that end I am not going to allow myself to attack. But if I AM mezzed, I want to be able to attack". Wouldn't it just be more useful to just be able to attack? Mezzed or not mezzed?
I don't believe that using the PFF should mean that if a mez gets through Defiance won't work.

It seems to me counter to the design of Defiance.
