1. Given just those two options, I'd have to say you're insane.

Villains as a whole, get 9 'new' sets that villains can use. Storm can be used by 2 different AT's, but it's still one powerset ported to villains. Judging by your logic, if we add a powerpool set available (with 4 powers like all other pool powersets) to all AT's, we would be getting 44 new available powers. Sorry, but most people don't see it that way.

I highly doubt the blasters will be getting a port from the dominator psi assault set, it wouldn't make sense. Mental blast, psi scream, subdue, psi lance in a secondary? right, lol. It's not going to be a direct port from psi assault, no way considering some of the power choices will be redundant with psi blast.

lol if you think i don't know what I'm talking about. We can meet in the arena anytime buddy, care to test your game knowledge and experience in a 10 minute match?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think you didn't really count the ported sets in a proper way.

hmmm....let's compare, shall we...

Brutes

Mace (new to villains)
Axe (new to villains)
SR

Corruptors

Electricity (new to villains)
Storm (new to villains, now shared with Masterminds)

Dominators

Earth (new to villains)
Electricity (partly shared with Brutes, Stalkers, partly new shared with Corruptors)

Masterminds

Storm (new to villains, now shared with Corruptors)

Stalkers

Elec
Elec

So that's essentially 5 new sets for villains (Mace, Axe, Storm, Earth Control, Electrical Blast).

Blasters

Psionic
Mental (new to heroes)

Controllers

Plant (new to heroes)
Thermal (new to heroes)

Defenders

Cold (new to heroes)
Ice

Scrappers

Fire
Fire

Tankers

Dark
Dark

So that's four new sets for heroes.

Okay, I usually dont even read forums, so I can avoid doing stuff like getting exasperated at people enough to finally register and say somethign like:

Okay, I know some people didnt get exactly what powersets they wanted for the ATs they wanted.... but really they are new powersets! I would have liked to see scrappers get super strength or masterminds getting revamped illusions primary (or at least another secondary), yes.. but I'm not going to moan about them making the 'wrong choice'. Many of you are not providing useful feedback, and just being big babies that got the wrong flavour of sucker.

Its still candy. Yum. I look forward to all the new combinations that these powersets have to offer, and I trust the dev's motivations behind thier choices.

Thank you very much for this, dev's. No matter what some people say, this is pure awesome.

Very good guide.

A couple of points on Teleport however.

The best AT to choose Teleport with is a Regen Scrapper. Their Fast Recovery combined with a simple 2 slotted Stamina can make Teleport fuction easily with no endurance woes at all. That leaves you free to slot your Teleport for maximum range or with an IO set.

With practice a player can learn to use Teleport effectively in combat (I use it constantly, porting from one foe to another much in the way you would expect Nightcrawler<TM> of the X-Men<R> would). It merely takes patience to get used to it and timing to use it to maximum effect. You can even get used to the Red Reticle of Doom in missions by learning which of these areas will still allow a port to occur.

That is all.

[/ QUOTE ]

Or /Energy with Boost Range, hands down...

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes.

Teleport without End problems is so easy that saying you need QR to do it best is like saying you need a sledge hammer to best put a hook in the wall to hang a picture. It's overkill in the extreme.

Anyone can TP without End problems.

Meanwhile, NO powerset other than Energy Manipulation can increase the Range of Teleport.

I only see one drawback to this sweet revamp:

Where will I send my level 5s to practice their Mad Tiptoeing Skilz?

or just wait til 7 and do Perez.

Can you get every badge and plaque in PP without a travel power or stealth at level 7? Try it!
6. [ QUOTE ]

I've wondered about them being mystical. They give technology drops.

Their dress mimics a pseudo-celestial Middle Ages Knighthood. Its like a secret society playing dress up. Just like their dress pretends to be mystical, I've wondered if their powers are technological diguised to seem mystical. Hence the technology drops.

They also seem to be anti-magic or anti-dark magic at least, too. All the more reason their powers are actually technology based despite how they appear.

Those all sound like really great changes to the Hollows. Now how about setting War Witch loose on the Shadow Shard? The huge villain population in the Shard is entirely too static, too rooted in place. The Shard has such enormous unrealized potential.

How about:

- a few wandering space "dragons"

- a few wandering rikti spacecraft

- a 50-hero Hamidon-raid-level arch-villain

- hollow out some asteroids for us to explore

- more complicated "one-off" missions

- an accolade power earned by completing the four Shard TFs

- access to the Shard for CoV (co-op mode like the RWZ?)

- actually place the Ski Chalet and Pocket D somewhere in the Shard

- black holes, small meteors, vision-obscuring nebulae

- a wisp city

- random rare rularuu raid on FBZ

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd add one more thing to your list...a technician that can provide you with official FBZ flight packs...but they only work in the shard.

[/ QUOTE ]

That can be the accolade for completing all the TFs. :P
9. Here's my build as it now stands, slightly modified from the others I've posted in this thread. Slot levels are, of course, irrelevant, since it is a respec build.

10. <qr>

An update: The Aegis: +Psionic and Status Resistance doesn't work effectively in Force of Nature. One can either move it over to Temp Invulnerability or remove it in favor of something else.

I removed it and put a 6th slot in Hover to add Karma: Knockback Protection, just in case I get mezzed or -Fly'd.

Another good alternative would be to add a Stun IO in a 6th slot to Total Focus.
11. A couple notes:

First off, with almost any Recharge bonuses from sets or Luck of the Gambler, Boost Range is essentially permanent with just 2 lvl 50 IOs.

Second, at least 1 of the 'Defiance related bugs' you mentioned is not a bug. Total Focus is meant to give a smaller boost, according to Castle. Remember the Defiance formula is not set in stone, it's merely a guideline for how the buffs were generally created.
12. Seems more likely Doms will get Earth, but we really don't know much for sure at all at this point.

ok, yeah, perhaps a NEW redname clarification is in order
15. yes, that's all true

my point was, the only thing that determines what level you get exempt to is the level of the mobs in the mission in question

there is no 'future missions are lvl 30-40' 'past missions are lvl 1-25' or anything like that

there's no logic to it, that's all I'm saying

You get exemplared by Flashback when the mobs in the mission are lower level than you.

That's it.

There's no RP explanation.

Mobs aren't higher level in the future or the past. Mobs are just sometimes lower level and sometimes higher level, depending on the mission. You get exemplared to match them. That's all.

Stupid newbie questions:
- Pre- existing lvl 50 villains are valid to unlock the new epic archetypes?
- Once unlocked, are they valid to all servers?
- If you delete your only lvl 50 villain (after unlocking it, that is), can you continue to play your newly created Blood Widow, and can you still create characters with the new archetypes?
- And what if you delete the old ones and the only lvl 50 left is one of the new archetypes? Is it valid?

[/ QUOTE ]
Educated guesses, based on the Hero Epic Archetypes:
Yes, existing lvl 50 villains are valid to unlock the new epic archetypes.
Yes, once unlocked, they are valid to all servers.
Yes, if you delete your only level 50 villain, you can continue to play your newly created Blood Widow, but you will not be able to make another until you get another level 50 villain.
Yes, if you delete the old ones and the only level 50 is one of the new Archetypes, it still allows you to create a new Epic Villain AT.

[/ QUOTE ]

As far as I know (I'm not about to delete my only 50 as he's still my main hero) but the account unlock of the EAT doesn't require you to keep at least one level 50 character. All getting to 50 does is unlock the AT in the character creation screens and is not required to be around to keep the new ATs unlocked. Think of it like making a recipe for a costume piece, you don't need to keep the recipe to have access ot the costume piece, it just sets a hidden flag on your char (or account in the case of the EATs) that says you can access the content. Keeping the item (the level 50 in the case of EATs) is not required to keep that flag.

[/ QUOTE ]

This is incorrect. It has been tested and shown that deleting your only level 50 will RElock the epic ATs.

Actually the FAQs state that 'activity' has absolutely nothing to do with it. And that is pointed out several times. It's from when the account was created - nothing more, nothing less.

[/ QUOTE ]

This makes no sense. It's not just about when your account was created, it's about how many months you have been subscribed. If I created an account way back when the game first came out, but I canceled my account 2 months in, and I restarted my account right now, I would not have even ONE Vets Reward, because I only have accrued 2 months time.

What the FAQ refers to as 'activity' is actual playing. What the poster above means when he says 'keep my account active' is that he will continue to pay for it.
24. Yes, it is.

Anything that is not 'Working As Intended' is a 'Bug' by definition.

Anything.

'Bug' implies nothing about severity, importance, noticeability, or anything.

What would YOU call it? An error? A mistake? A problem? An unexplained phenomenon?

It's a bug. A very complicated, multifaceted bug. Perhaps even multiple bugs, interacting in strange, buggy ways.
25. The actual awarding of them is buggy. Some people actually get theirs early, others get them late. There's no discernible pattern of which I'm aware.
