  1. hiya folks, I got some question regarding the Achilles Heel: Chance for Resistance Debuff proc:

    1. What are the numbers on the proc, how often does it go off, how long does the effect last, how often Can it occur?

    2. Does the effect stack with itself on the same target when slotted in multiple attacks?

    3. Is slotting it in multiple attacks useful at all? Attacks within a chain? Attacks in separate chains (one for the AoE chain, one for the single target?)?

    4. Which are the best powers to slot it in on a Human/Dwarf PB, lvl 37?

    5. Anything else you can think of regarding this proc and PBs?


  2. I haven't noticed the bug you guys are talking about at all, instead I've noticed a different bug.

    This one has to do with macros and keybinds. Any keybind I make that includes a toggle_on white dwarf or one of the other forms, will fail to switch me frequently, and I think it is when I get hit or perhaps when I get mezzed while trying to switch.

    This is even to the point that if I am already mezzed, say I got stunned and I am hitting my macro to switch to dwarf, and then I get hit by another mez while I am switching, the switch fails and I have to hit it again.

    I figured out a workaround by having 2 keybinds. One that is directly tied to the specific tray slot that the form button is in, and a separate one to switch attack trays. Yes I have to hit 2 buttons, but because the bind is triggering a tray slot instead of the power itself it has solved the problem. Not sure what to make of that.



    Apart from that slight annoyance, Kheldians are totally awesome now, although I haven't yet taken the time to get used to the new Black Dwarf Mire. My PB is doing way better than ever before. I agree with Castle, giving the human form mez protection outside of Light Form makes the Dwarf Form basically pointless. However, I think they should up the buff from Controllers and Dominators on the team to 2 per.

    Yes, there are some overpowered sets, or sets that skew towards single target damage and survivability.

    It IS possible for any player (once they l2p) with any AT (but not any powerset combo). The point that was made before however is that soloing AVs is NOT a balance point and therefore there is NO onus on the Devs to make it possible for all powerset combinations.

    Are you really suggesting that the devs manipulate powers in such a way to allow Empathy/Dark Defenders to solo AVs? All AVs or just some AVs?

    Some sets are good with AVs, some sets are good with large groups, some sets are about survivability, some sets are about force multiplication. There never has been a trend in this game toward the homogeneity you are advocating.

    I am quite glad that IOs simply make the game easier and are not required for anything.

    And the WoW system of raids that you do to get gear to do raids to get gear so you can do raids, SUCKS and is the least solo friendly game system I have ever seen.

    No, that sort of tiered end game system has No place in this game, thank heavens.


    Several of your ideas that I did not quote however have significant merits.

    My /Regen is Elec/Regen. That's been the bulk of my Stalkering lately. I seldom had problems using Placate on previous Stalkers, but I thought that was because I was using defense based secondaries. I didn't realize it was limited to Elec/ in PvE. What is it specifically in Elec/ that causes the problem?

    My next Stalker project will be Spines/, so I'll have the DoTs breaking Placate, but I'm back to defense so it should be ok.

    More or less, it's any "Debuff" whether it does damage or not will tell the NPC that you are there despite placate saying you are not there.

    It's not any. It's JUST -Recovery.

    This SHOULD be an easy fix. Just add -Rec to the list. I can't conceive of why it hasn't been done yet.

    The Night Widow buffs the team a Ton.

    Not once did I say this happens a lot. The assumptions that I'm a poor player and should change my playstyle are absurd.

    Here's a scenario just for some of you naysayers:

    I'm on my ice kin. I hit FS, aim, ice storm and blizzard. THEN I want to pop a blue and transference off of a target that still has health.

    As an example we'll use a nice juicy herd in the ITF, first mission at the altar you lead Sister Solaris to. A couple of the bad guys get in some lucky shots as I'm trying to get away after I tranference off of the Minotaur.

    I at least want the satisfaction of my nuke finishing.

    I shouldn't have to go this far to justify this and I probably should've just bugged it and not posted.

    My Nova doesn't do damage if I die while it's going off, and I don't have the luxury of firing it from around a corner.

    Why on earth should your nuke, which does more damage than mine, has more secondary effects, and can be fired from out of LoS, keep damaging after you die when no one else's does?
  12. Why don't you try actually playing the set instead of basing your opinion on numbers?

    Chain Induction is not an aoe, it's a single target attack, the jumping is a bonus.

    Lightning Rod DOESN'T BREAK HIDE. So you can Crit AFTER using it, while everything is still getting up. BU>LR>TS=2 shotted a whole spawn.


    It's certainly true that Electric is not great for single target, but then that's what AS is for. For AoE, Electric blows ALL the other sets right out of the water.

    Your reasoning, good as it may be, is not a logically following response to the post you quoted.

    KD being better to chain than KB has absolutely no bearing on the fact that it would be a major change to many, many existing characters.

    Don't take away knockback because some players can't use it right and others can't mentally adjust to seeing it used. And don't say "But you can add a knockback enhancement to get it back!" unless you're going to spot me the slot to put it into. Why should my powers have (effectively) 5 usable slots instead of 6 to regain the capability they already had?

    Teach the players who don't know how to use it. Kick the players who can't learn. Enjoy the tangible advantages properly used knockback give you and your team.

    The well-played storm defender shouldn't be handicapped by taking KB away just because the ADD 10-year-old energy blaster can't figure out (or care) how to position himself to blow the mobs against a wall instead of blowing them off the ledge.

    KB is almost the only thing in the game that takes actual player skill. Let's not remove it, k?
  17. I have an EM/Nin and an Elec/Regen both in the 40s.

    For my next stalker I want something with Some AoE, but better single target than Elec. I want a secondary that's a little tougher than Regen....probably Nin, EA or WP. Are EA and WP alright for stalkers? Help me pick!
  18. My Electric/Regen is 47 now and I have the whole set except for resilience and revive. I use everything. Dull Pain is good before you have the accolades and set bonuses to make the +hp unnecessary, and having a second heal is good too. I use MoG almost everytime it's up. It allows me to get succesful placate crits even when under heavy fire. If anything I would say the set is too squishy, mainly because the HP cap is so low. I still say the Stalker HP cap ought to be raised to aroud 1900 or 2000. The Defense sets are definitely tougher.

    Energy Melee no longer has a mag 4 stun. All the stuns in EM are now mag 3.
