If I could figure out how to customize the message center like they were going on about (and not just by making folders), I would be happier with it. Are there instructions somewhere? All I see anywhere is "Oh... it does this, this, AND this!!!! Powerfully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" but not how to do those things.
Also, the front page is horrid. Just horrid. -
It is quite the explosion of goodwill. And we're only just now getting organized. That's artists for ya!

D'OH! I was gonna grab one of your pieces, but two others have already offered. Besides, you already have a Ms. Frost from our earlier dealings.
Is Feral Kitty still around? Maybe I can take that one.

Well...I was gonna get a Tanks one and a Ms Frost one (Not the Dark Ether one like it said - at the time they posted that I wasn't sure which character would be my second).
I'd love to see your take on Tanks, if Wassy's grabbed the Frost one already (since you already did your awesomeness on her).

I wasn't trying to force my work on you if you didn't want it. Lord knows I can't compare to DJ. But if you would like to be put in my regular commission queue and get a full digital color piece (including 11x14 print), just shoot me a PM with which character it was (Ms. Frost, I assume?) and what your idea of the piece was.
Like I said, I unfortunately can't do it immediately =/ But as God as my witness, it shall be done! -

Suuuuuure, now anything I do can only be thought of as "Sigh, this could have been from DJ..."
=P

Eeks! Well, that wasn't my intent. Sorry =)
I won't discuss my options until I know whom I'm gonna render. Sorry Wassy.

Aw, I was mostly kidding. Mostly. Just keep in mind this is coming from a chick who had a HUGE collection of various Serah Angels back when I played Magic (from multiple sets/languages) only because I adored her artwork ^.^;; -

I have been up for two from Gill for a while now, one was going to be Ms Frost, and the other Tanks 4D Memories. My screenies are on my DA page here:

Seriously, this is really cool, folks, and means a lot to me that you all care like this - way more than you really need to. I'm still holding out a thimble-full of hope that I'll get my commissions done, but not much more than that.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'll take your NSFW one if that's OK with you. But as I mentioned, I'll be putting you in my commission line. You'll get one for sure, but it wouldn't be immediately. I'm just staying fair to everyone I work with ^.^
If that's an issue, I can take someone else, though. -
Would it be possible for someone with better organizational skills than me to list the queue as we know it here and edit the post as to which artist is taking what? I'm getting confused!
And I'd also very gladly take on anyone from the exotics side if there were bad commissions over there. -
I'm hesitant to say this because it involves waiting, but if someone who was on that certain list wants to be put on my queue, I'll also volunteer. I'm not as fast as Juggy because I'm not superhuman and pushing everyone already on my list wouldn't be fair, but it does move right along. As of right now, its full on all the active pieces but has no reservations in line. So, if one person would like to jump from "that" line to my line gratis, post here and let me know!

Man, Juggy just raised the bar. Looks like I gotta step in and pick up one of Gill's commissions too...

Say, did I mention I have 117 commissions in GB's queue?
[/ QUOTE ]
I think you did! And I know I've said how I have about 40....
Really! -
I find it works best if I do exactly what the commissioner wants and then also throw in some ideas I have in the preliminary stages. Sometimes when you see the way things work out on paper, you get to somewhere else that you didn't even know you really wanted.
That or I just enjoy giving people multiple choice exams ^.^ -
And if anyone ever gets commissioned by Frost, he's horrible to work for, constantly nags, and is incredibly non-understanding about his spot in the line =P
-
Awww, thank you for the very kind words. I also really like this piece. It pulled together so well at the end.
And for anyone else who gets commissioned by Tiny, he's very VERY nice to work for. Count yourself lucky ^.^ -
Bwahahaha, that's an awesome explanation!
-
Yes.... its somewhere... around... possibly 9.9
I'm really pleased that you like it. Its such a cool piece with stuff I've never done before. Always nice to try new things! -
That's an awesome thing to do, Juggy. And you're always great with those patriotic characters ^.^
-
I agree that versions 3 and 4 were too wordy, but version 5 isn't wordy enough (just to drive you extra insane!)
I think you need to get in there somewhere as to what the City Scoop is, or at least to go to the boards. -
Awesome stuff, and welcome to the best section on all the CoH boards!
-
Oh my God.... I LOVE that! Extraordinarily awesome! The style.. *in love*

Really cool perspective and great use of the green light reflections. Two thumbs up! -
*carefully sketching some filmy, translucent fabric that leaves JUST ENOUGH to the imagination*
Awww... I hope that's OK instead of the leather. -
Argh, that's awful! I was just lovingly flipping through some of his Witchblade yesterday. He had a beautiful style. His work with Fathom was also jaw-dropping. And so young! Way WAY too young for us to be without him already.
He will be sorely missed. -
Awesome styling! I really like seeing these pieces you're doing lately that are different and experimental. They're coming out so well!

It's sad to see such a good artist fall by the wayside like this, but if you can't take the commitments and do the work (it is a job, after all) then don't do it.
I gave up a long time ago trying to do "hobbies" as a job. It took the joy out of it (which is why I don't take nearly as many pictures anymore, except of my kids).
And I will never draw for money unless I have to make mortgage payments and put food on the table. In that case, ya'll know something dire went wrong since my job is very secure.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know where you're coming from with this because I had the same thought before going through with my decision to hop back into commissions full steam. I did a few several years back, but it kind of got to be too much since I was working full time and supporting my husband through college. But all my frustration came from not having the time to do what I loved and having to spend it all at a job that wasn't my passion.
So now the tables have turned and my husband has his degree and a career, and I'm able to do what I want with my life and I kissed the have-to job goodbye. It took months of really hard work to get myself back out there and build my site. The pay-back was huge when I launched and started doing the Mini-Portraits... I LOVE it. Sure, its a bit more on the work side than the hobby side, but when you can do what you love and make a career from it, there's no better feeling. I feel very lucky. -
We can always use more Rowr!
I'm going to be weird and point out that I really like the grass in the piece. Dunno... came out nice with the shading and all and made for a cute setting ^.^
