I am going to put some emphasis this discussion again since I just ran into it in this section again.
If your NSFW is one click away, the post is coming down.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So if you post a picture on DA, and a person who makes a comment on it has a horribly disturbing gallery, you can't post that picture, even if it was of fuzzy bunnies or something? Or are we only going to refer to the ARTIST'S gallery?

I'm not trying to be snarky, but that "one-click" thing gets really hazy on places like DA and other places where there are links and links and links to everything. You can click to the front page of DA from any piece posted here and that could potentially have NSFW material. Also, if you're pulling things down for having NSFW pieces one click away via DA, you wouldn't know that unless you were signed in on your DA account, and you yourself have enabled those pieces to show. "You" referring to anyone.

...Since Doug's got his panties in a wad...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hehe, I do?

I don't care how he gets his message out. I was just confused because it was mentioned there was a ban, followed by his posting on a new account. The logical concerned is that he might get another account banned is all. No worries from me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Perhaps he meant that you were rendering some panties and those subsequently got wadded when you looked away to post =P
  3. Ding dong ding dong ding dong ding banana phone!
  4. *gets some citrus juice in the eye*

    Oh come on now! >.O
  5. No way would something that cool last on Nickelodeon. If the darn tweens didn't take to Jhonen Vasquez, there is no hope for anything so awesome =/
  6. What? Red lines? Do you REALIZE how lazy I am? My Wacom tablet is like an entire foot away... AND NOT EVEN PLUGGED IN!!
  7. Cool! They're all so full of attitude. Nice little series ^.^
  8. Awesome haul! What's really nice is how different all the pieces are. You've got yourself a nice little collection there.

I take offense to the stereotype that trolls only exist to stir up trouble in internet forums. Do you even REALIZE what the undersides of bridges would look like without trolls??? They're a valuable link in the ecosystem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hadn't thought about that ...your right ! trolls play a valuable part in our ecology I will strive to be more accepting of them in the future

    [/ QUOTE ]

If the trolls die then the princesses become far too numerous and over-graze and destroy the natural habitat of the old crones of the forest who then perish and the dashing heroes have nobody to vanquish so turn on themselves in the most brilliant display of cannibalism you will ever see and then we're just knee-deep in dashing hero carcasses and they start to smell in the midday sun and its just a bad situation all around.

    Respect the trolls!

"Quickly, they're coming. How many lights do you see?"

    "THERE ARE 4 LIGHTS!"

[Sorry for the obscure ref but I could'nt help myself.]

Come ooooooon. We're on the interwebz. Star Trek TNG is not obscure! =P

    [/ QUOTE ]

True. I suppose on the web and more to the point on a forum such as this, it would not be obscure at all. Now if I went back to Star Trek TOS....

    [/ QUOTE ]

not really.... it might be a bit more obscure than TNG... but ANYTHING Star Trek isn't obscure. Something that might be considered obscure, is a series called Spaced, at least on these forums, the Euro forums would recognize that name fairly immediately.

    Simon Pegg is awesome.

I come here for inspiration for my writings, of which I don't do enough of.

No you don't! I loved the stories on your DA page ^.^

  15. I enjoy the CoH art community. I honestly don't post anywhere else on the boards at all. I used to post on the Freedom boards a little bit, but now play a lot more casually than I used to.

I also like to share my work and look at the works of everyone else.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
The way to do that would be through great art, not by being a jackhole.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that's the way it SHOULD work, but unfortunately you can also do it through being infamous =/

I was just musing was all.
  17. Makes me sorta wonder if all this was a bump to his pageviews, though.

    OooooOOOoooOOOOOh!

Thanks for finally pointing it out, I never would have seen that on my own. That sort of stuff is very tricky with my vision. Cool little thing to put in there!
  19. Ooh, I love Candra's stuff, too! She makes me seethe with jealousy.

I have terrible artist envy >.<

I'm shocked no one has mentioned my easter egg in this one.

I'm never smart enough to find such things =/
  21. Oooh, the swirliness! I love tendrils and things.... they're just swimming in the piece. Very nice ^.^

  23. But there are times and places for things. As has been mentioned previously, there are forums devoted to art critiquing. That's not really the feel of this particular forum. The question wasn't really about every place, but about HERE, specifically.
  24. I think a good rule of thumb is how it tends to work at DA.... if it says "Comments AND critiques welcome..." in the description, of course give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. There are a couple people I watch at DA who always encourage critiquing and I put effort into give meaningful praise and critique.

I agree that its a little weird critiquing commissions because the artist is out to please the commissioner, not everyone else. But I think that no matter what is posted, thoughtful praise is always better than a quick "Nice job!" (satisfying as that may be). I try to say specific things about pieces that I like when I'm moved to comment on them.

As far as who it comes from, even non-artistic people know what they like and don't like. If I want some critiquing, I would in no way shun it from someone who doesn't know thing 1 about art. Almost anyone can point out glaring flaws in perspective or something, or just know when something is off. I don't know EVERYTHING about every style of art or piece ever created, but I don't think that makes my opinions completely invalid if given in a thoughtful manner.

I would just stick with not critiquing unless asked. No harm, no foul that way ^.^
  25. As I type this, Frost is working on hanging his First Contact and Flowy Frost pieces.... and its involving a laser level, stacks of books, and him standing on his computer chair (you know, the kind with WHEELS).

This is the most entertaining thing I have ever seen in my life.
