  1. Thanks for all the compliments! And I quite like that Bad Wonka idea..... hmmmmm...
  2. I just noticed your sig, LD.

    I love you.
  3. You definitely captured the "What? You're doing... huh? Oh fine, whatever" look Adam has in the original. Even with a visor and hood! That's impressive ^.^
  4. Wooo, neat! I do feel bad because someone COULD have gotten a Doug Shuler piece but... the idea was too neat to pass up (once my reading comprehension kicked in, of course).

I hope I can make up a piece that both of you will really like and will be a good representation of what you can get with D.R.A.T.!
  5. I'm totally sweet.... until someone comes along and starts stealing my thunder. Then I break out the sleep-deprived flying squirrels and hot peanut oil!

Just kidding! Unless you're into that sort of thing...
  6. Thanks. I got this idea yesterday and ran with it. It seemed too good.

And I think this might make me a real forum artist now...
  7. As I mentioned, I had Invincibelle in the works, and just finished her up. This is an ink and marker piece.

    Belle Gets the Bill

I'd rate this pic as PG-13, but you might have a little 'splainin to do if your boss walked by at work. Not a lot... but a tad.
  8. I also agree with mistformsquirrel. I was gonna say 2D animation as my first choice.... but man, Pixar can pull off some gorgeous 3D animation... mostly because they "get" the soul of animation itself in any form.

So yeah... depends on who's wielding the tools!
  9. Just want to repeat again that nothing is full and nobody is late. I just needed a collection to choose from of stuff that looks interesting to me for different things I wanted to mess with over the summer artistically. I'm just too lazy to go looking into other threads and stuff for all the times these have been posted before ^.^

I'm not going to be able to do EVERYTHING posted (or I might just die of exhaustion) and things won't come out in any particular order. But it is a chance for anyone who's posted to snag free art.

The last person who posts has just a good of a chance as the first person... it all depends on how neato I think your character is!

I'm away from the forums for a few hours to watch Star Trek and look at what I missed!!!!

Just in case it's not to late

There is of course Desmodas and her magic illegal costume.

Anyone of from my Dark Army.

    The newly created brute, Ivory.

    And someone's favorite, Desatanica

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oooh, definitely a different look for Des. I like it! I'm actually kind of getting an anime-ish vibe from it with the big shoulder thingies and the sleeves. Spiffy update!

I do like the magic pack. Lots of fun stuff in there.

EDIT: Also, it won't be too late until it hits mid-August. Not promising every single character posted will get done of course, but I do want to try a lot of new things over the summer.
  11. Neat, thanks for all the options to choose from! And feel free to keep posting, too. I also don't mind the threadjacking ^.^

Basically, I'm just gonna mess around with what catches my attention and take it where it wants to go. I know a good chunk is going to be marker work because my Copics are still new and shiny, but I may be in a more pencil mood or want to try out a digital effect or something.....

So... it shall be a grab-bag of Wassy Artz.
  12. Yeah yeah, I know we see these all the time, but I'm excruciatingly lazy and can't be expected to go through these other past threads to find what I want. That's just silly.

As I've mentioned elsewhere... school is out for summer! Yay! And I have new art toys! Yay! And I'm not horribly over-loaded with commissions at the moment! Yay! This means I need some characters to do some sketches of.

Basically, please post in here some of your characters and backstories. Or link to places where they're nicely put together. I want a thread I can go to to pick out some characters to do sketches and such of. You might even get some original marker work in the mail if I'm provided with some sort of shipping address.

I'm not committing to a timetable and can only do this through about mid-August, but I really want to have some art fun this summer before going into a much heavier courseload at college in the fall. I already started doing this privately and Invincibelle should be finished shortly.... c'mon, I can't be a REAL artist around here without Invincibelle work!
  13. May many naked women burst out of many cakes for you!

    Plase halp

Use the line tool in Photoshop and hold down the shift key. Makes a straight line for you.

    Fifth Element win.

Anyway... you can always keep it simple. Sometimes you only have to imply. Like.... you could do some buildings or something waaaaaay in the background by just using some real simple shapes at a low opacity. It would make her look like she's flying high over a city or somesuch.
  16. *re-reads first post*

Oh.... duh... well... I can't be expected to have full reading comprehension all hours of the day!
  17. Well, since I finished schoolwork for the semester and am moving my queue right along again, I shall volunteer as an artist.

I think I have some very tough competition as the chosen artist with the others that have volunteered thus far, but my site and all my artsness is located at Wassy Art
  18. I couldn't afford them for quite a while... took a few months for me to squirrel away the cash. But since I've started using them... they are well worth it. They blend so much nicer than the Prismacolor markers I've used in the past. And the color variety is astounding.

And yeah, they look better in person. Such is the way with trying to show anything done in traditional media online.
  19. I don't name 'em, I just draw 'em. And thank you ^.^
  20. A new commission using my Copic markers.

    Captain Emerald

Also, my schoolwork for this semester should be all completed by the end of the day today, so I just want to mention that I'll be open for commissions as usual over the summer (was reserve status most of this semester). BUT, I will be drastically reducing my queue at the end of August because I'm significantly increasing my courseload for the fall semester.
  21. I love the old and well-read texture you used for the comic cover. Very sweet.

But yes, I also noticed the arrow thing straight off. This is mostly because the only time I ever did archery in highschool I got the fake plastic feather things lodged into my skin so.... hard to forget which side that was on... *twinges*

    Yeah, that's vectors.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hold on ... wait wait wait ... I can see this be started with vectors ... but this isn't all vector! Is it?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yup, has to be vectors or I lose points. I built it 100% in Illustrator and didn't rasterize anything. There's a lot that can be done with gradients and playing with the stroke/opacities/blending modes of the brushes.

That said, I think this project would be about 1000% easier in Photoshop. But, that's not really the point of Illustrator. Were I specifically working in the printing business... yeah, I'd be doing vector over raster images.
  23. I still love the word "skinvitational". I'm calling up Webster and getting that officiated.

And another neat concept! Your character collection is win, Buckeye.
  24. OK, this is not in any way CoH related but... it does show that I've worked my way around Adobe Illustrator now and can actually put out a halfway decent illustration with it.

    Candle Love

    Yeah, that's vectors.
