OK, I'm using every TV stand and free-moving chair in the apartment, but I've got a nice set-up going on over here with a still life, my easel, charcoals, and laptop (and Watchmen: Ultimate Cut). I'll be at the livestream ^.^

All of those options are fine, I'm not picky.
And yeah... portfolio time is MAJOR crunch time @_@ -
I'd like to point out that Adam Hughes tends to color using overlays on his marker work, so that does require VASTLY less fine control than coloring from scratch, and wouldn't be greatly helped by a tablet anyways.

Ya, I get what you mean with fading the edges, which has all the merits you mentioned. To me, the areas of detail could have been pushed out just a bit further for the overall size of the piece. There's a LOT of black space for the size.
And I'm more aware than I want to be about typesetting considerations. I'm taking a Digital Typography course this semester. All I can say is.... printing/font geeks are strange o.O -

For your feedback, the very first thing I notice is that there's an awful lot of wasted space. All the arts are crowded right into a small space in the center (and dead center also makes for a static composition). You're giving her name top billing rather than the character.

There's a very nice pair of... er.... eyes. Yes. EYES.... that I put up on my dA that I'd love some critique on.
I can't direct link it because of the ... eyes.... But they're artistic nude and nothing I would consider "naughty".
That and I wanted to let this thread see the light of day again for a bit. -

After the contest nearly everyone I walked by told me I should have won. But the winners were reeeeally awesome, so I gotta commend them. I ate dinner with Jay (I think that was his name? He works with the concept artwork IIRC) and the group of Wentworth. Lots of fun.
I gotta admit, the expensive ticket was more than worth it. It's a huuuuuge blast. Oh my god. My brain can't handle it. -
I love how he pronounces "Wassy" with his Australian accent... *swoon*

And, to Ghost, I guess my figure drawing classes have instilled new habits. Now I'll have to WORK at the big heads! Except of course I made disproportionately large other areas.... >=D
