  1. My Global is @Wassy.... so I think you guys will know its me.

I'll be on later this evening getting Neurotika re-set up on Virtue and would love an invite into the Rogues Gallery! I'll be one of the people that doesn't overly RP, but I do have some fun while playing on Neurotika...

I can set Skype up with a little help from Frost. And I DEMAND that Eddy has to use it whenever he's playing. DEMAND IT!!
  2. I've confirmed that I did indeed reserve Neurotika on Virtue, so I'm happy to roll another incarnation of her there and commit some dastardly deeds with you lovely duckies.
  3. Heh, I don't demand TeamSpeak, but I do like to use it if enough other people are on it. That and.... I've never been on TS while people are also RPing. That might be scary.
  4. If it helps seduce anyone into villainry, I am known to get drunk and start playing on weekends.

Its more epic if we're doing Teamspeak....
  5. Excellent. I'm glad I'm not TOTALLY surrounded by goody two-shoe types!

I could always roll some new heroes on Virtue or see if any of my hero names will be transferrable from Freedom to Virtue. They're just not my mains are all.
  6. Well fine! I'll just continue to play with myself then!

    Yeah, I said it!
  7. Lemme just double-check that Virtue definitely has Neurotika available (almost positive I grabbed her there), and then I'll vote Virtue.

Of course, I also hope a few more of you have Villain mains, or else she'll be just as lonely anyway =P

EDIT: Also, I would just be re-rolling her on Virtue. I'd have a version of her on every server if I could, just to make teaming/playing easier.
  8. Yeah, I checked on the availability of Neurotika on the servers the other day. I think besides Freedom, I could only grab her on Virtue and... er... Liberty? Maybe? I don't remember now.

But I know there are a lot more people around here on Virtue than on Freedom, so I wouldn't mind doing some more playing on that server with you guys =)
  9. You damn perverts have completely derailed my serious discussion!!

But so far its looking like community sentiment is favoring keeping the vote on the boards, which I'm totally fine with. I'm here to serve!

Unless sentiment swings wildly in the other direction, or we figure out a better option, for now we'll say that voting will stay on the boards. We, quite honestly, have more than a month before crossing this bridge, so who knows what ideas might pop up between now and then.

My own website will also still have a mirror of the competition, and THAT month (and there will be one) can specifically stay over on my webspace for display purposes =)
  11. Ah, I didn't even think of the non-pressured voting! That's a good pro (as you said, it could also be seen as a con... but I'm calling it more of a pro). I know during the last competition there was more than one instance of people having to defend their votes and it seemed to sour the overall fun. Keeping it as "just by the numbers", so to speak, should go a long way to putting a stop to that this year.

Also, to also put aside any fears, this will not be an anything goes sort of competition. I have no problem disqualifying entries if they don't abide by the rules/theme. I don't want any accusations on this matter hurled towards artists.... if people think there's an entry that doesn't meet the criteria for the month, they can come to me about it. So if it makes it to voting, be assured that its been screened to be acceptable.
  12. OK, voting community at large, your FArt Admin needs your input.

A City of Heroes group was recently set up over at deviantART. We've set up a section for 2010's FArt Competition, because its a great way to organize, archive, and (most importantly) display the entries to the interwebz! This also comes with the awesome bonus of us being able to use the polling feature to run the voting, which is very VERY handy.

I just want to know... do you all think it will be a huge problem for you to go to the page to vote rather than vote here? Accounts are free to set-up if you don't have one. This will also help the lurkers who no longer have an active gaming account. But I do recognize that this is the competition's home, so want your thoughts.

    Looking forward to input!

Maybe I'll draw my own. Stick figure model sheets!
    I guess it is sort of a catch-22 =P
  15. Neurotika was born during the City of Villains beta.... so she does pre-date Dollhouse by a while, yes. I so need to send Joss Whedon a passive-aggressive note =P

And the model sheets are really nice because, honestly, its very easy to screw up the screenshots from the game. I can't tell you how many times I've had to go into the costume creator myself and re-create a costume for a commission because I just couldn't see the detailing in the screenshots given.

They're also good for getting across any small changes you want from what's available in the creator. The back of Neurotika's costume is different from what can be attained in the game, as are the toes of her boots.
  16. I don't think we really need an actual sign-up.... whoever submits when I bring up the January theme (separately) will be automatically entered.

I just wanted to get the word out early that this will be starting right away in January, and to get any suggestions on running it/themes/whatever =)
  17. Adobe Illustrator and some custom brushes set to specific auto-correct settings. And a tablet.
  18. Ya... she's under mind control, so when she's inactivated, she's a puppet without a puppeteer. Dollhouse totally stole my character design, and I should have words with Joss Whedon =P

I'll have a whole bio thingie up when the colored version is done.
  19. Bayani has a way of motivating me to get stuff for myself done (I generally don't artistically dote on myself and will do things for other people over my own characters), and I've been meaning to do a Neurotika model sheet for a very long time. So... he got on my case and I did it!

This is my simple inking over my pencils. Eddy Swan shall be taking care of the colors after I throw on some flats.

  20. Freedom to more openly discuss? You mean.... I can swear like a sailor like I normally do????

    **** yeah!
  21. *applause*

Really glad you stuck it out with this one. I believe the results will be well worth it =)

Oh my dear, I have far more creative (read: insane) themes in mind! Besides, I'm going to try to do different ones from TA's, just so repeat entrants can keep being challenged.

Of course, this IS a CoH Fan Art battle, so we all have to keep that aspect in mind. But it won't just be the signature characters.
  24. PUH-leeze. I could put you both to shame in a lechery contest. All other women are here solely for my pleasure, I'm quite convinced. Men, too. Pretty much everyone.

Glad we're already gathering some participants! And yes, Foo, I like your idea about doing demo pieces. If anyone else has any good ideas or can volunteer something to the FArt cause, throw them out and lets work together!

Oh yes, and let it be known... my #1 rule is that every entry MUST include a hot chick. I don't care if she's peeking out from behind a tree in the background, but she's gotta be there. This may cause you all to have to really flex your artistic chops down the line depending on the themes chosen!

If you do a Livestream next week, I'll definitely make it a point to join in. Tonight.... is.... my.... LAST CLASS OF THE SEMESTER.

This upcoming weekend will be devoted solely to beer and videogames. Because I'm a lady, dammit.
