I did this with vectors!!!!!!!
And yeah, those people that can do photorealistic stuff with vectors make me want to poke their brain with a fork and see what it does. -
I didn't put your piece in there since it wasn't a part of the competition proper, and could be confusing, yes.
I figured I'd keep your samples to each month's main post =) -
To have your entries included on the dA group, please submit them there yourself! I'll only submit entries to that group for players who don't have a dA account... which is just plain silly since they're free and all. I want the credit for views to pieces in the group to go to the artists.
Submit them right to the FArt Competition section, but we'll fix it behind the scenes if it goes astray. I can also take your pieces out if they don't meet the contest guidelines, so don't think that its a way to skirt the rules!
If you do not have a dA account, please email your submission to me via wassy@wassyart.com so I can also get your piece here, into the dA group, and on the mirror on my web page. Frost has devised programming specifically to credit the artists in this special gallery, rather than myself.
I strongly encourage all FArticipants to use dA to put up their pieces, as that way I can make absolutely sure that I can post all entries to this thread, my site, and the City of Heroes group!
If you can't advise me via this thread that you have an entry due to no longer holding an account, note me on dA at lilwassu or send me an email to wassy@wassyart.com -
Quote:More or less correct. CMYK corresponds to the inks that the printers actually have in them, so when you have a document that reads out in percentages of CMYK to apply, you'll get a true print. If you send an RGB document, it has to make adjustments to convert it itself and you might get a different result.Actually RGB and CMYK are the color management profiles. RGB is typically used for digital media i.e. internet, photoshop etc. CMYK is generally for printed media. So when a graphic designer creates something it's usually in RGB then converts it to CMYK for the printers.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I'm 99% sure that's how it works. Though you CAN designed using CMYK, I'm not sure the advantages of one over the other.
RGB and CMYK handle black and white (and therefore the areas in between) differently. CMYK is talking about levels of ink, while RGB is talking about levels of brightness... like for your computer screen! So if you're doing work that is primarily for web viewing, RGB is where ya wanna be. If you know you're going to print it, you don't necessarily have to work in CMYK the entire time, but you really must convert it before you're done, so YOU can see the color shifts and correct them accordingly if need be. -
Excellent. I hope it arrived safely, as sometimes things that look like they shouldn't be bent is an open invitation to bend it as much as possible =P

My appeal for Federal aid went through yesterday. So, yay! I can attend college for another semester!!
-
I really have to tune into these things, because I love theory and art history. I'm seriously considering getting a secondary degree in art history, or at least making it my minor.

Quote:Enough boobs? ENOUGH BOOBS?!? I scoff at the impossibility of this statement. Scoff I say!No no nooooo, Wassyyyyy! You have it all wrongggg!! We need more BEEF cakez! We have enough "boobz" out there already!!
I swing both ways, and can firmly state that I much MUCH prefer female pin-ups over male fare. With men, personality has a LOT to do with how attractive I find them. While personality will make a woman more attractive to me, I can also get much enjoyment out of viewing her well-formed molecules. -
Indeed, it doesn't matter who it is. I would even flip out and take great offense if it was done by Chris Bachalo (who is my fave comic artist).
So any attempts to sway my exclusivity would fall on very deaf ears =P -

*radar goes up, sensing another artist near Frost Magus*
....
OK, false alarm...... But I'm watching! -
Yeah, its like two weeks and change to get it in by the 22nd at midnight. I guess less change for Juggy and Eddy as they're halfway around the world ^.^

Yeah, and Foo didn't have the unfair advantage of knowing the theme a few weeks ahead of time. And he CERTAINLY didn't already receive next month's theme. No, surely not. I wouldn't recommend trying to torture the information out of him or anything like that. Or me. Because its not like I'm planned up through June thus far.

I would groan like you're supposed to at that joke... but I love stupid humor. So instead I'll lawl.
LOL -
I have to say, that I have also been bitten by the Massacre Melanie bug after getting to see her in action. Not surprised at the faves!

Throw on a triangle for a skirt and huge circles for boobs and I'll give it my seal of approval!

Quote:The most interesting part of all of this is I'm not leaning on my vast experience with nude females.... we used a male model 80% of the time in Figure Drawing!Heh. Well thanks for clarifying which pubis you were referring to.
And in regards to splitting hairs, the bend would be slightly higher on male versus female figures since the female pelvic region in general is shaped/positioned differently, i.e. lower and wider.
I'll never.... EVER be able to forget the pubis as a good halfway landmark. It was like the second week of class and the teacher was pointing out these reference points right on the model... and THAT one was... you know.... 2 inches from his junk.
But in all the many exercises afterward of having to get a figure accurately into a defined space, using that reference point to determine your halfway point always worked quite well for me... creepy though it is -
So much of the cred on this piece has to go to Jophiel! He came up with the posing and a character concept that I could really run with. Any artist he commissions is very lucky =)
-
Eh, I've found that the pubis comes to halfway more often than not (or the aforementioned bend line). The hip bones end up slightly high.
I was referring to sympysis pubis - that bony protrusion in the front. Which men do have as well =P
Its splitting hairs though, really. -
I didn't say the workings were wrong, I was pointing out that the point where torso and legs bend can also be used for a size reference.
