I've seen women who naturally had what all those who complain about "being unrealistic"...it's not common, no...but there are women who do. So the "unrealistic" (whether or not the game makes it looks good is up to personal opinion) arguement is invalid imo.

However, get a toon who's leg sliders are maxed, and it's nothing. No "it's unrealistic" arguements (mind you, I've seen some OMG those are some long legs before too).

Basically, I find the arguement for "unrealistic" not to make sense. If they said "you know that's not common" I'd see it more, but if they just said "it wasn't common" they'd have nothing to complain about.
Yeah, "unrealistic" is probably a pretty poor criticism. Personally I go with "really freakin' weird looking", but that's just me. Like others said, your character, your monthly fee, your body sliders.

God, why would you even want to go max length with legs? Even the default is weirdly long. Going beyond that takes you into strange mutant leg person territory. I've seen women with pretty large breasts, but nothing like what this game can do with legs. It's freakish.

I do not, and never have liked PC game play. There are many reasons. I am not fond of American developers and their idea of story. I do not like shooters, and I was never fond of American RPGs. Graphics are also an issue. I found that graphics were better in my eyes with the consoles.

Now that I am playing MMOs for the last 8 years, I have found another issue with PCs. The constant need to upgrade them to see the newest games, now the latest DRMs are not only invasive, but offensive to me. I refuse to buy anything from UBISoft due to their recent idea, and I will not buy anything with SecureROM, even if it something I like.

Many of the popular games that are out there I never had the desire to play, and others, like Fallout, lost my interest once I realized it was a timed game. I don't like that.

My other issue is, PC games are shoddy. They push them out without worrying about all the bugs, and then you need to 'patch' them to fix their design failures. Just look at the Praetorian Halloween salvage contact. That was let through, even though it was a glaringly obvious problem. I have one of the DarkSun RPGs from a long time ago that I like, but I can't play due to needing to find the patches.

Overall, I am fine with plugging in a disc/cartridge and playing a game. I know that the latest console that I will own will play the games that are coming out. It's not like the PC is very backwards compatible either. In addition, it used to be that the PS had a very good variety of Japanese RPGs and games. Now days, they have very few of them. It's sad to see the latest American shooter instead of a new Japanese RPG, with the story lines I like.

PC games are not dying, nor are they a niche market. I can't say that overall I really want to buy them. I asked about Steam a month ago due to the fact that I do not own a 360 and there is a very popular American RPG that will be coming out for the PS3, but no word if the first installment will port over. I can deal with Steams DRM for the most part. I will look into it for this game... but I would be happier just to buy it on my console.

Now, this is a point of view. I am not wrong about what I like, not is anyone else for the most part, but I am not changing my mind just because someone shows me some technical data, or someone raves about the story line in some game.
I don't think anyone was trying to convince you to switch to PC. If you don't like it, don't use it. Consoles work just fine and have their upsides, particularly if you tastes run toward games that play well on a pad.
  6. Admittedly I'm not crazy about the body language there. The facial expression makes total sense for Clark at that age, though. This is a story about a young Clark figuring out what he's doing with his life, not the iconic older Clark that's gotten comfortable with who he is and what he's doing.

Fallout: New Vegas...according to the numbers I've found, it has a 360 sale-rate of approximately 10x (850k for the 360, 460k for the PS3, 90k for the PC) that of the PC for week one. Now, one cannot verify if that was because of the DRM requirement for the PC or not.

Fallout 3...according to the numbers I've seen, 4.7 million copies sold during launch week worldwide, of which, 55% were 360, 28% PS3, 17% PC. Which amounts to nearly 800k PC units.

Of course, that mixes worldwide and US only and I wasn't able to find US-only stats for Fallout 3. But of the two games, one had barely any DRM, the other requires a third-party program.

According to another stat page on Gamasutra, in 2007, PC sales accounted for a measly 14% of total game sales with the majority of those going to WoW and The Sims.
Most publically available sales figures these days only consider retail sales. I don't think most, if any digital stores release sales figures. And PC game sales have been estimated to be over half digital as of this past year. This is almost certainly not figuring in the small indie games that are gaining significant niche popularity on PC. Also, bear in mind that whatever one can say about number of units sold, PC games usually generate more profit per unit since they don't have Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo taking a cut. This is why most PC games have stayed at $50 or less rather than going up to $60. There's a reason more and more digital game stores are opening up, including Microsoft's new revamped store that's coming out next month. Microsoft wouldn't bother with it if they didn't think there was money to be made.

Also, regarding your earlier post, who cares how many developers are PC-only? The only important thing is that they continue to make PC games and that those games are good. Granted, some ports to PC are bad, but a lot are really good. The us versus them attitude with regards to console gaming is really pretty silly, it doesn't hurt PC gaming for consoles to get good games.

Mikaboshi, from the Japanese pantheon. He's gotten some really good on-again, off-again development in the pages of Hercules and the old Ares mini (not the Dark Reign one, though I heard that was quite good). From what I've read this is the culmination of all that.
  9. Found the article about Routh's chances of returning to the role. Apparently he's not absolutely ruled out, but he's not a very likely choice. So there's that, anyway.

so, howsabout before we whine doom, we go and read the book? mmm k?
Agreed. There's been info and articles out there about this book for months now on the major comics sites, many of them involving conversations with people actually involved in creating the book. Why would anyone form an opinion on it on a NY Post article by someone who clearly is just looking to grab cheap, easy hits? I think it sounds like a potentially great book, and JMS' track record on Supreme Power gives me confidence that he can write a "brooding Superman" without it getting cheesy. Before getting up in arms, try looking up some real information on this book from an actual comics site.
  11. I'll probably have a look at the trades. Pak's been a little hit-or-miss for me; I LOVED Planet Hulk and his Hercules stuff with Fred Van Lente was pretty good, but his War Machine really disappointed me. This is following up on the awesome Secret Invasion tie-in in Hercules though, so that speaks pretty well of it.

Yeah, and Stallone is a lot shorter than that but he still manages to do OK as a manly action star. They can do wonders these days with camera work, custom footwear, and choosing the rest of the cast appropriately. Being a hair under six foot really isn't that big a deal.
  13. I could see Bomer in the role if he can sort of crank back the sex appeal a couple notches. Clark should be a great looking guy, but the pictures I've seen of Bomer really kind of scream "Look what a sex symbol I am!" I haven't seen anything he's been in so I couldn't comment on his acting, but if he's able to adopt a more restrained look and vibe I think he could probably pull it off really nicely.

That said, with Routh officially out of the running I think my pick would be Tom Welling. He knows the character, he's been playing him forever, and I don't really have a problem with a movie that's in continuity (or at least not directly contradictory) with Smallville. As long as it's good, I'm in.
  14. The creepy twins are awesome. Great costume. I wasn't able to make it, but I'm glad to hear the event went well.
  15. Bleeding Cool picked up on a rumor that Snyder's looking for an older Superman for this flick. If that's true, Jon Hamm seems like the obvious choice. His look is right for the character, again provided it's an older version than what we've seen in past flicks.
  16. While I'd like to see Routh in the role again, Zack Snyder has confirmed that he's out. The studio wants to make a clean break from Superman Returns. Shame, as I thought Routh was really good when the material he was working with allowed for it.
  17. Oh god, I forgot all about Forkenshpoon. Rowr, too. Both should have been on my list.

Marston was of the firm belief that everyone, male or female, on some level deep down wanted to be dominated by a woman. It shows in a lot of the early WW scripts.
  19. In the middle of some things at the moment, but I've got the site bookmarked and will give it a look when I get the chance.
  20. I'm not crazy about Thor, but I like the rest. Get rid of the metal kneepads and weird lady codpiece and I'd say that's a much better look for Ms. Marvel than the ridiculous outfit she has in the books.

  22. Saw it last night. It has almost nothing to do with the comic, but judged on it's own merits it's really good. Absolutely amazing work by the cast, John Malkovitch in particular needs to get a role in a James Bond film just for the opportunity to see him again in a tux with a gun in hand. The perfect gentleman hellraiser. Go see it.
  23. I'd consider it, I thought he was good in the last Indy flick. Like a lot of others though, I'm skeptical about passing the Indy name down to him. I'd be more open to it if it were something like "Indiana Jones Presents Blah Blah Blah". I get that the name could credibly be passed down to Mutt, but I associate Indy too strongly with Harrison Ford to take someone else using that name seriously.
