Not if you're playing on Freedom. on Freedom being able to zone into Galaxy is a blessing to esape Atlas Park.

I agree. That was my reaction to the armor when I first saw the boots, haha.
Quote:With the preview of the Ascension Armor on Valkyrior, I've instantly made that character my next one for IO's and Incarnate power upgrades. I've already got a good build made in Mids', now to CRUNCH! some enemies for great justice! -
Quote:Are you aware that the Shard TFs you're so fond of were (I am told by a knowledgeable fellow player whom I have reason to believe) intended to use maps and other new art assets that ended up not making it into the live game - so that, for example, rather than the same mission four times on the same map, you'd have four different maps? And that when that extra content was cut from the final release, the Shard TFs were pushed live as they are anyway? (That's why they seem so interminably long, repetitive and padded - well, that and that was the state of MMO design six years ago.)
If there's any truth to the above... IMO, finish the zone or write it off and close it.
I abhor how Super Speed and Hasten look, but that doesn't stop me from taking them on almost every single toon because, to me, they happen to be the best pool power and best travel power in the game. I really dislike how most epic shields look, but also doesn't stop me from taking them because they are so damn useful. I'm very irritated we can't re-color our epic/patron powers to match our primary/secondary power set color themes, but that also doesn't stop me from taking them because they're good powers.
The day that they give us these options I'm probably going to cry out of joy. But I still make full use of all the aforementioned stuff as is.
See where I'm going?
Would be pretty cool if they added different maps and art designs for the TFs as is. Or slightly update the TFs without any major changes or overhaul to it like they did to Posi. But that doesn't stop me from liking the existing ones and having fun with them.
This is what I think. No one is forced to agree with me. Just like no one is forced to agree with any of the other opinions mentioned here. I'm just irritated at how some posters voice their opinions as if every single one of the player database shares their opinion. -
Quote:I like the kill alls because they're one of the very few things remaining in the game that are actually somewhat challenging without having to set the missions to +4/*8 on a solo or 2/3 man team. If the devs are giving me the tools to make my toon uber, they are, IMO, required to give me enough content to actually make me use all that mighty power on. Not just use it for "Lulz" and speed runs. And the high level game content most certainly lacks that.Well I certainly don't think well designed content is kill-all after kill all.
Quote:I don't think well-designed content requires 4 players only because of some arbitrary collection objective and not because of any combat difficulty.
Quote:I don't think well-designed content, despite being literally the only stories in the whole dimension, takes place half the time in the other dimension you spend all your time in.
Quote:I don't think well-designed content requires 2 hours minimum at the fastest.
Quote:I don't think well designed-content puts the contact in the most remote place possible and then doesn't give it a Call option.
Quote:What would you say is well-designed content? I truly want to know what you see in the Shadow Shard TFs.
The main attraction of Shadow Shard TFs for me is their difficulty (That, and I think Rularuu are just so freakin' cool). Diving head first in a mob of Rularuu on your own is mostly gonna get you your *** handed to you on a plate except maybe for few selected power combos (Will Power and Elec Armor do rather well against Rularuu) Even a lot of the "high end, fine tuned" toons have problems fighting hoards of Rularuu. Nemesis aren't exactly easy either. If you're not careful they will get a few Vengeances stacked on them and pound you to mush. Plus, the rewards for those TFs are rather pretty nice. -

Quote:I disagree. I hate the new Posi TF with a burning passion. But revamped content like Positron's Task Force are clearly superior in terms of gameplay, storytelling and "flow". I think those kinds of revamps are bringing content more in-line with the original vision & idea behind it.[/b]
I happen to like the Shadow Shard TFs. Well, all of them aside from Justin Augustine. I agree, they can use some love, but I still like them. -

Interesting, thanks. But that page needs a little update since now we can transfer characters from EU servers to NA servers and vise versa :P

You can get Fireball from the Blaze epic. The drawback of that is that it requires two additional selections from the Blaze epic to be able to take it.
-
It's basically anything with Fire based or energy based damage can light OSA. So even if you're like...TA/Ice you can still light your own OSA with the origin temp power if you were Magic or Tech origin since Apprentice Charm and Taser Dart do Energy damage.

I will have to second the "Fraud department" thing as it has happened to me a couple months ago as well. It kept telling me that the bank is blocking the transaction, but eventually turned out the credit card people (VISA if that matters) are blocking it for Fraud possibility. I have been using the card for 6 months for all sorts of stuff on the NCSoft site before this randomly happened out of the blue. You will have to contact the number on the back of your credit card and specifically ask them to unblock the NCsoft website purchases for you.

Quote:I've been playing on Freedom. And I'm not abandoning it. And yes, you're right: There are bad players and good players on every server. That's just natural.Sorry you had a bad experience- as someone else pointed out, be glad you were released quickly and suffered no further headache from that team. Sometimes the short term sting of rejection proves to be the best form of protection.
I will be glad when people stop looking down their noses at one another based on what servers we play on. There are good players and bad players on every server. Just because a person plays on a less populated server does not mean you are a better player than anyone else. OP, this isn't really directed at you personally, but I am just referring to the all too palpable sentiment that playing on Freedom is so frowned upon on the forums.
However, the problem with Freedom is that the % of bad players and/or idiots tends to vastly overshadow the good players. Getting on a good PuG on Freedom is no where near "common", more of "ohmigosh I had a good pug team!!!!!!". And that is the main reason I try to mostly team with globies. But being an avid TFer I find myself sometimes having to PuG for enough people to start one. But I only do that when I'm confident that even if the PuGs turn out to be completely unreliable, that whoever I already had on the team is enough to take care of the missions without their help. If they turn out to be good players, brownies and 3-4 star rating for them, and of course the global name is taken note of for future references. -
This strikes me as a conflict with Vista/Windows 7 admin issues.
Try running the NCSoft Launcher as an Administrator by right clicking on it. -
Simple question: When you transfer a toon from one server to another, does it lose all its previously unlocked contacts and opened/completed arcs and held missions? So you'll have to unlock/do everything again? (Yes, I know you keep your badges)

Quote:I'm not an SG Leader (I have my personal SG for storage but that's it). But I tend to heavily gravitate towards your behaviour. I almost always running with my friends. Most of the time I'm leading but I don't have a problem running with teams that I'm familiar with the leader. I tend to run my own TFs/Trials. When I'm forced to PuG, I give instructions as needed, but I've learned that reading can be rather really hard for some people so following simple instructions is not possible. I have been hesitant about it for years now. But in the past few months I have made point that after telling a certain someone to do something (like don't aggro the AV yet in the trials) and they still insist on ignoring me even after repeatedly saying it in Team Chat/tells I will make much use of my Shiney Star and kick them, after I one stared them of course.I'll safely assume my being a SG founder helped in dealing with such people. Everybody assumed I would lead all things and I pretty much did. This meant it has been rare I have ever been on a team on Freedom and not been the lead, nor not been playing with friends.
Funnily enough, I've been playing on Union lately, and I have had absolutely no problem running with PuGs. Even funnier, I've been playing for an average of 4 hours a day on Union, running with at least 2-3 different PuG groups a day, and I have so far only met exactly two people I've rated less than 3 stars. -
They have also been going randomly to Pocket D in servers giving out Steam Punk codes like that. I haven't went myself but my best guess is that they want us to showcase our Steampunk costumes with whatever pieces we have currently available, not from the pack.

No, sadly
My problem is that whenever the download is "done", it never finishes and starts installing. It simply reverts to 0% and starts downloading all over again endlessly. It just never complets lol even after a few times of reaching 100% download. -
Quote:Alright. I will see what I can come up with later today. Just one comment: I don't PvP so I can't guarantee how well it will work for that aspect. Although I know for PvP you'd prolly want to proc as much as possible which will raise the price quite a bit.I dun know the pools well enough to know what not to take, so nope none that I cant live without, but hero merit bought stuff is fine to do
EDIT: What about Trip mine and Time bomb? Those are personal taste since some people like them others hate them =/ -
Well this is a dumb question. I tried it again with the same results. Not sure how to deal with this IP port thingy on a basic Windows environment..any tips would be appreciated x(

Quote:Here, have a hierarchy-list of my opinion.
OldTrials > SFs > TFs > iTrials > zone events/raids. :V
QFT.
This, by miles. I much prefer Task Forces and Strike forces over the damn trials. And Strike forces have always been more fun to me than Task Forces (even though I haven't done any in a while o.o). -
Quote:Indeed. The text specifically saidJust going to add something here, it doesn't look like it's changing to a PBAoE. It's changing to a targetted AoE. So you should still be able to milk the benefit from your range hopping.
Quote:Group Area Buffs: To make buffing easier for Teams and Leagues, these buff powers now affect all the eligible characters within a 30-foot-radius around the targeted character.
