I solo'd him on a lot of my toons. But really, it's just so trivial it's not worth mentioning.
Bring 4 lucks, 2 or 3 greens, and fill the rest of your inspiration tray with reds. If you can't do it with that setup something is seriously wrong. -
I saw this thread since it was created but never bothered reading till today. This is an extremely interesting idea that I would love to participate in. I will take a look into it today. And I have a scrapper that I'd like to take through Aeon's Army mission as well see how he does. I'm assuming the Aeon mission is listed under @Elfis_Presley and Arcana's is under @Arcanaville?
I haven't read every single post in this thread, so anything specific I should know about? My first thought is to try this on my Fire/Fire blaster since he's my favorite/best toon, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to use inspirations to begin with or not.
I'll take one or two of my toons through Arcana's mission and hopefully I can manage to get another run with a team as well. -
This has been going on for at least a couple weeks now. Me and my friends have /bug -ed it more than a few times already and nothing is fixed yet. Tin Mage Task Force is not rewarding 2 shards at the end with the merits and stuff.

A Sonic Resonance defender can easily achieve 75% (which is the cap) resistance on smashing and lethal. Along with softcapped ranged defence too.
IMO, a build that has both defence AND resistance is the best. A pure defence based build is pretty sturdy, but after personal experience I can vouch that dropping some defence and picking up some resist to have layering defence will increase your survivability by a ton. -

Quote:Well my corr's HeatLoss and Benumb are perma as well.Do you think a Cold/Sonic Defender would make a better debuffer for that kind of duoing? Mine can debuff around 100%-150% resistance, which should make your DM/SD damage pretty crazy. In addition, perma-Benumb would drop Ghost Widow's hold to a mag 25 or so, which you should be able to ignore with double-stacked Active Defense and a breakfree or two.
I would imagine a Cold/Sonic would make a great duo partner for that kind of thing probably because his scrapper deals insane amount of DPS and the resistance debuff only helps with more. Can't really tell if it's better or not though. -
It was a lot of fun, I have to say. I was a little surprised at how easy the first 4 missions were to be honest. The main problems on the last mission were GW's hold and the flier respawn. Not that the flier was hard to take down, but the mobs it spawns would screw up our work with the tower. Over all, wasn't too bad. Without his towers Recluse was even much easier than the 4 AVs before him -.-

I actually decided to go with a scrapper. Mainly because of what you just said, Claws and Effects. I'm mainly looking for the damage more than survivability, as WP scrappers are extremely survivable anyways, my DB/WP rarely dies, if ever. And I'm planning to softcap S/L 33% on the rest. Since the damage on both is so close I figured going with the scrapper is better because of this:

Quote:Yeah, that's about the max I managed to get too.Correct. A Brute can get around 2800 or so max HP with slotted HPT and some accolades/bonuses, a scrapper tops out at about 2200 or so (at least that's the most *I* could get out of it, might be possible to get more)
Quote:Yeah, pretty much.
Out of all the combinations that are shared by the 2 ATs, some will be better on brutes and some will be better on scrappers. Fire/WP is one that will be better on brutes. Electric/Shield is a good example of one that is better on scrappers.
Alright..thanks for the answers guys. -
Quote:Lol, very true dat. Especially when like yesterday one stupid boss TPs out of the room into the hallway and decides to stay there -.-Ran the respec trial last night. Even though *I* could probably survive it, I think most players would rather gnaw their own arm off than run that thing three times in a row.
Thanks for the answers guys. -
I'll have to give another vote for Cold Domination. Even though it lacks a heal, it has almost everything else. Defence buffs, defence debuffs, resistance debuffs, -Regen, -Damage, plus all the various effects from Benumb, and the +recovery from Heatloss. The KD from Sleet is really cool too. And if the toon is well setted out (Read: Tons of recharge) it can outperform any other toon in terms of debuffs too. My Fire/Cold corruptor is one of my favorite toons to play as well. She's setted out with enough recharge, that with her T4 Recharge alpha Benumb and Heatloss are perma and Sleet is up every 14 seconds. She brings sooo much to any team she gets on.

So, I want to make a Fiery Melee/Will Power toon.
I'm trying to decide between a scrapper or a brute. What I'm thinking is: WP will be better on a brute because of the better base HP. Plus Fiery Melee has a ton of DoTs which Fury affects while criticals don't carry on to DoTs. I'm trying to see if there are any aspects where a FM/WP scrapper will be better than a brute in, but can't really think of any.
So yeah, am I missing anything? Or is a Fiery Melee/WillPower brute superior to a scrapper in pretty much all areas? -
While Freedom is the most populated server, I would personally recommend "Virtue" or even "Champion" for someone new to the NA servers. Virtue offers "a good bit of everything" including low level teaming, TFing, RP, PvP, and other stuff and it has a really good population base. Champion while is less population than Freedom/Virtue, it's where I see the most amount of "hardcore" type playing happening plus it seems to be doing alright on population issues.
Me? I'm thinking about making a second home on one of the EU servers since I'm a GMT+2 time zone even though I play on the NA servers. Would be nice to have somewhere to go when the population on NA servers is down (mostly around noon/early evenings for me). -
Sadly, he speaks the truth. You need to be either a full hero or full villain to earn and/or buy hero/villain merits.

Thank you for the detailed answer, very much appreciated.

I'd like to start this by saying that I'm also extremely sucky with market "play" to make money, so that's not an option for me as well.
I find that BUYING the A-merits with 50 reward merits and 20 mil inf on 3 or so characters every day (I run a ton of TFs) and then buying LotG Globals or Miracle Uniques (usually the lowest level ones sell higher, but sometimes they're just about the same price as the level capped ones..check before you buy) every two days and selling those is a great way to make money while not having to commit the time or energy to do the tips everyday.
Personally what I do is hoard the AMs on one character because I have toons that need the Glad Armor unique, have two toons buy LotG/Miracle uniques with AMs and then put them on the market, and a fourth toon that simply rolls the AMs it gets and sells the profitable recipes that I can via the roll.
I buy my rare salvage with AE tickets. My blaster can make 9999 tickets in 30-40 minutes (Running at +2/*8), so not only it saves me a lot of inf buying the rare salvage, I'm also making money while getting those tickets and sometimes helping friends level their toons (if I have a lowbie with me I run at +4/*8, more XP for the lowbie and more tickets for me since now I'm sharing my ticket drops with the lowbie).
Also, when I'm leveling a toon via AE I always use my tickets to buy rare salvage and store it in my base while leveling (I don't roll for recipes with tickets until the toon is 50) which also helps quite a bit. -

Simple question that I haven't really tested before:
Can I do three Respec Trials back to back and still get a respec out of every one of them? How about if I ran the same one (Say the Rikti Trial) three times in a row? Or do I have to wait 18 hours between runs to get more respecs? -
If I'm not mistaken it's been like this since A-Merits came around since I remember looking it up and not finding it. I do believe it's a f-up on the devs side and not intentional since all other sets have all their recipes (From what I've seen anyways, haven't looked at all sets lol).
Acc/Dam Kinetic Combats are usually the cheapest after the proc though, shouldn't be too hard getting them. I get a ton of them from Bronze rolls in AE too. -
I have a friend in Japan who had their home completely demolished with the earthquake, but they and their family are thankfully safe. Thoughts go to everyone who is affected by this disaster.

Hmm...this is extremely interesting. Although I'm on a GMT+2 time zone, I play on the US servers. I guess this is a great oppotunity for me to be able to play with people from around my time zone...pretty cool.

Quote:Egads! I can't begin to imagine how populated your server must be if you can't find 10-30 of something to kill across different zones because everyone is busy street sweeping! @.@
On Freedom it's pretty bad. Especially the Vahz in Faultline and the Council in Boomtown. -
This is pointless, in no way "secure", and simply stupid. It doesn't increase the security, it's simply a huge pain in the rear everytime I want to log into my master account. I made this account over 5 years ago, and I've no idea what information is entered in there or what security answers are there. I had to bat with the support back and forth for 5 days to finally get my account unlocked.
Their requests to unlock your account for you are simply ridiculous. They're assuming that in all these years I"m still using the same e-mail and the same credit card. Even if I still am using the same e-mail, I'm not going to be keeping e-mails from all that long ago....Just, lol.
Plus, I'm on a DSL connection that provides a Dynamic IP address. Which means everytime I connect I get a different IP address. Which means...everytime I want to log in my master account I have to re-verify myself because I'm using a different IP address. Which makes this whole thing even more ridiculous.
No, just no. Take this back, I was happy that way it was. "More security" yeah...right. This is just "more pain in the butt".
I've never had more trouble on ANY website than I do on the NCSoft websites.....I've been trying to buy the animal pack since they day it came out and it keeps giving me the "we can't process your purchase right now" stupid error. Please don't make this website any more tiring and annoying than it already is.
