I don't want zone events to make up for this. I don't want Double XP to make up for this. I don't want Double Threads to make up for this.
Gimme a few free server transfers please
That aside, thank you, Z, for keeping up with us. -
I can solo some GMs on my Fire/Cold corruptor. Not all of them though..but that's more to do with my build than the toon itself. If I respec my toon for more AoE defence I'm sure I can take them all out.

Quote:I'm guessing in a couple weeks the "craze" of the trials will die down and it will go back to being run just like other TFs. Occasionally and broadcasted for in global channels. The fact that they require high number of people to start (I know you can start Lambda with 8...but it's much better to have more for the temp power phase from what I hear) will always make it harder to get one going later on, but eh..shouldn't be too had I think. At least for me, I play on Freedom, lots of people there.I certainly wouldn't mind a "weekly" of some sort, but I'm guessing that wont come until there's a lot more trials to choose from.
I only have two heroes on the incarnate path, and one of them I didn't touch at all except to do the WST and I've made substantial progress on them based on the time I actually spent playing them, despite over a month of real-life time passing. I'm not in any real hurry, I guess. :x -
I did 5 successful BAF trials yesterday. And not any of them had a specific mix of ATs. I just took whatever ATs people wanted to bring. What I do on that particular part is something similar to what Snow_Globe discribed. I put a team of 5 people on the north spawn area, 2 teams of 5 on the south spawn areas, and a team of 5 on the 2 spawn areas on the north east. Then have 4 people patrol the middle grounds to catch any stragglers. Worked every time.

I did an utterly failed BAF on Tuesday a couple hours after I20 went live. Then yesterday decided to try my hand at leading one. Lead 5 in a row, 5 successes. One of them we even managed to get the badge for not letting any prisoners escape. It was a lot of fun, I loved it. It's not too hard once you know what you're doing, but it's still not easy either because of the nature of the enemies and the whole event itself. Every time we finished it was a good rush and massive cheers in the league channel. Still haven't unlocked my judgement slot yet though. /sob
Yet to try Lambda though, I hear that's the harder one.
I'm liking the trials. I'm just not happy about how many times I have to do them to unlock the goods for my toons. I have (Currently) 5 toons that I'm taking down the incarnate path...>.< -
I whole heartedly agree. Give us Jetpacks, please.
Oh, re-enable my Alpha slot back in the trial while you're at it. -
Quote:I keep Aim on my corr. I like to use it before I hit Benumb because even with Sleet and Infrigidate sometimes it misses on GMs or Higher level AVs. I usually go Aim -> Blaze -> Benumb -> BlazeI'm not sure you'll ever use or need Focused Accuracy and Aim. If you're taking them for the set bonuses, then by all means go for it, but Sleet debuffs defense so ridiculously well, that I literally never used either Focused Accuracy and Aim once I had Sleet well slotted for recharge.
Quote:Good luck, enjoy your fire/cold! After 35 its the most fun in the game IMO
EDIT: Oh, wow. Just noticed the dates on the original post. -
Just thought I'd chime in and add one more vote to the awesomeness of a Fire/Cold corruptor. My first 50 Villain was my Fire/Cold corruptor. Three years later, she is still one of my most favorite toons to play. She brings so much to any given team. Damage, buffs, and debuffs all in one toon. My Fire/Cold is capable of soloing Giant Monsters (Not all of them, mind you...Adamastor and Kraken are ***** with their AoE attacks, and Lusca is...well, Lusca) plus pretty much any AV that's not Malaise.
I also have a friend with a Fire/Cold corruptor that is also capable of all that, in fact he was the one who aspired me to try soling GMs/AVs with my Fire/Cold. When we both team together the team will be almost definitely a slaughter machine.
So, in other words. Fire/Cold = win. Regardless of what type of build you went for. My build has 33% Ranged defence and about 50% S/L resist and enough recharge that with the Spiritual Alpha boost my Benumb and HeatLoss are Perma and Sleet is up every 14 seconds (which means it's perma..what with the rain-debuff bug and whatnot). My friend opted for a capped S/L build with less recharge than I have on my toon. But both toons can achieve high levels of performance.
What I'm trying to say is, there is no one way to build a Fire/Cold corr -- there are a lot of ways to achieve a wonderful toon in it.
P.S: For Sleet, I just have a Regular Recharge IO, Touch of Lady Grey: End/Rech and Undermined Defences: Rech/End. Heatloss I have Efficacy Adaptor: Rech/End, Rech/Acc/End and Performance Shifter: Rech/End, Rech/Acc/End. Infrigidate I have two Acc/End IOs from slow sets. -
Quote:I'm sorry it took me so long to answer.... I sorta totally forgot about this topic >.<It's in my info (under where my avatar would be if I used one). I kind of figured it didn't need saying.
Edit: Really more to the point, I have a core of players I can normally depend on for excellent play. We aren't in a SG together, but we sort of act like one, based around a global channel instead. We spend most every evening running TFs together, and we generally try to run them as fast as possible. Even so, we almost never try to tune what people bring on the team. About the most effort we apply to that is to say things like "hmm, too much melee" or "not enough debuffs", at which point someone usually switches to whatever we're lacking. Sometimes we just say "screw it" and run it with whatever. My favorite outcome for the latter: 26 minute Apex with seven melees and one Elec/Psi Dom.
It's in my signature, I play on Freedom.
Like UberGuy I too have a base of friends I usually TF with. We're not in a SG, but we're grouped in a global channel where we usually communicate. However, I often PuG for members for my TFs because I'm on an EST+7 time zone which means my "prime time" is not everyone else's. Which means the amount of my friends that are online usually aren't enough to fill in the whole 8 member team. Or maybe they're just busy with something else. I've rarely had problems filling in an Apex or Tin Mage unless I'm trying to do one at like 5-6 AM EST.. at which point the server is dead anyways.
Between "Freedom TF", and "Freedom" global channels you really don't need many other channels. Although I do have 3 more private channels that I belong to where I can also fish for members. I think it also helps that I'm not picky with my teams. I usually just have people bring whatever they want the merits/badge/shards/toon they feel like playing and roll with that. If the team *really* lacked something I'm most often the person who switches to fill in the gap. -

Also, is the clickable area of the Oro portale changing to the tiny glowie star-like thing that's floating WAI?

There has been so many stupid bugs in this release...this is just one of them. The chat window resize. The absolutely horrible and fugly "classic" team window with it's extra shiney background green and hard to read fonts. Lambda and BAF randomly boooting EVERYONE in the trial out and not allowing them to join back in...among other things.
-
I *think* but I can't sure, that the Alpha incarnate powers are being treated as "temporary powers" even though they're showing up in the buff window. Thus when you go into trial all temps go poof and our Alpha slots with them? Only thing that makes sense to me. They need to be flagged in some special way like the Accolades.
Also, re-enable my Jetpack in trials, please. -
Quote:You know, I was kind of wondering if something like that was happening.
My endurance has been terrible all day today when I was doing the trials.
But when I was running my tips missions, I didn't have any problems.
Same here... I thought it was that the enemies draining my Endo. But seriously, there IS something wrong with the rate my blue bar is going down during combat in the trials, even when I'm fighting from far away and no attacks or anything is being sent my way. -
Quote:That can be part of the problem, except it's really a rare occurance though.I've never noticed TAB acting any differently than designed, despite all the complaints about it I've seen over the years.
What I think creates the problem for example:
You defeat a group of foes, and still have one of them targeted.
You move down the hallway to the next group od foes, and hit TAB.
The previous target was 80ft away now, so it cycles to the "next" foe, at 85 ft.
But wait, the foes are right in front of me! This isn't working! ARRRGH!
That's what makes having a target_near bound to a key a good idea, like Aggelakis mentioned.
You can also hit escape to clear the target first, then hit TAB to get the closest foe.
Personally, I use tilde for targeting as well, so I don't have to use Control+TAB.
Thanks for the replies guys...I guess my only option it set up two keys for targetting. -
Haha...and I was proud of Duo STF...amazing job man. Really cool.

Isn't the Tab key supposed to cycle enemies from nearest to furthest? Mine is cycling through enemies alright, but it actually starts with the FURTHEST away enemy then cycles through to the nearest. It's extremely annoying and frustrating and I always find myself forced to use my mouse to select targets which is a little inconvenient for me. (Yes, I did many tests. It really does start with the furthest away enemy).
Is there a way to fix this? Or at least a string of binds to simulate cycling through enemies starting with the nearest one? I tried my hand at a couple binds but none are working. I always end up targeting the closest enemy but not being able to cycle through. -
My favorite and most fun toon to play is probably my Fire/Fire blaster. Carnage. Lots and lots and lots of it. And he's really sturdy too and outlasts many melee toons, so that's twice the fun.
Very close second is my Fire/Cold corruptor. -
Quote:You're fine.Hmmmm...one of my 3 accounts had a credit card that expired this month. I forgot to change the billing info...duh...then I got an email while I was online that the payment didn't go through. It was fixed and paid for within 15 minutes.
So...what are the odds that I'll get hosed on the missing 15 minutes? -
This isn't the first time something like this has happened.
-
Quote:Uhm. I disagree totally. I do bouts of Apex/Tin Mage back to back a lot of the time and never have problem finding people for them. TFs are pretty fun, and not *that* hard, plus the rewards are great. I usually get both done in 45-60 minutes at most for 80 merits and "guaranteed [not counting the bug]" 4 shards. That's pretty damn good reward/time ratio. In all honesty both of those tfs need their rewards revamped by alot. So many folks now are saying screw the WSTF if its Tin Man. Its just not as fun as the ITF or even some of the other tfs. Personally I hate them both simply due to same old thing. +4s and cheating AVs does not make a fun TF at all. In contrast the incarnate trials are significantly easier to deal with because there is some safety with having more than 8 players. But those other TFs you simply could not pay people enough real money to even do them beyond the first time they get the badges. That should be a red flag right there.

Quote:I find this, along with the whole "Veng Bait" thing is the best for ambush farms. But in my case I really could use oranges more than the reds since I farm on a blaster and my damage is already through the roof, but my resistance isn't. Plus I have no innate heal to compensate either. I farm at +4/*8 when I'm doing it for the XP and 17 mobs at level 54 hacking away at my blaster even with his capped defence and HP will still take him down if I don't keep popping oranges for at least 60-65% Resist, preferably 75% on top of the capped def/HP.Just die near the farmer and pass red inspirations to him. Combine stuff as needed to make more reds.
The reason I don't think it should be a second "Farmer support" toon is because this way it's simply more inf for the farmer and more XP for the lowbies.
