I got onto test the other day when I read something about it being a REALLY OLD copy of another server and in fact did see a really old copy of a name-reserving (I did that for my main when I started playing) toon still at lvl 1. :-p
Either way the Beta server(s) should be accessible too. Unfortunately the copy tool's been down forEVER so you'll be starting from scratch. -
Can we get a Red Named approved test and sticky of this?
-
-Prestige could have been eaten up by purchase within the base (adding items).
-Porters not being tied to location beacons could lead to the can't TP to base.
-Weird Named SuperStar sounds like possible malice.
-SG Icon/colors being different could be related to the known SG symbol bug that has pissed many of us off as we used them for things like salvage sorting labels, etc.
Either way I'd petition and if they give you hell over the name (which was approved at some point in time), then I'd ask for some sort of token for renaming the group enough to comply with the EULA. -
It's not as annoying as when the screen stutters between full/wide screen when you toggle in and out of the screen or change zones. >.<

I thought you guys were talkin about the same person :-/

Just in case someone convinces you to try it, if your system's doing that on a single "instance" of the game, then I wouldn't recomend running two instances as your GPU likely couldn't handle it.
If I try to run two instances on my system at normal settings, then I get the same thing (it's over working my GPU) and end up with black screens on both instances and extreme lag. But if I go in safe mode, then I can do things like use my second account to help move stuff between toons.
Again, on the current system configuration you seem to have, I would Not recomend attempting the above. -

THIS...and yes there should be across the board costume pieces so that when we use the change gender option the opposite/huge gender pieces can simply be applied by the costume creator. As it stands, if I choose a gender, create a costume, and change gender, then the costume changes are gone (unless I change back to the original gender which defeats the purpose).

Quote:I was just about to post about this. I found that the Chest Symbol layer likes to stay on the bottom so things like coats and chest pieces cover or intersect it creating vectors that shouldn't cross.
Not sure what's going on with this, never seen it before...it's all like twitchy and stuff, super weird...anyone else getting this?
Also, I was going through my costumes (creating an alt-filled, themed Coalition SG) and noticed that the Costume Creator doesn't seem to be smart enough to take a costume and mirror it onto the opposite gender. I ended up having to manually go into the costume file and change all instances of MALE to FEMALE/HUGE for instance. I'm not sure this is necessarily a bug, but with us having access to the Super Tailor function now this should be a working feature atleast. -
This looks interesting...*deer in headlights stare*

Yeah, I'm hoping things like this are fixed via i21.5
I still can't believe they released this issue with so many 'features' that needed tending to. -
Quote:I thought Aero was an interesting name for the visual interface, but Metro just makes my mind jump to the image of an emotionally confused man...So they are calling the phone/tablet interface metro...
That really should be an option to load that as the shell or explorer. or even better make it function like media center does in windows 7...which I have load as the shell on my media pc >.>
Downloading the dev preview now and I'll load it on a virtual machine -
Quote:We see how you are ;-)My mains are remaining on Pinnacle, but I have transfered a few of my 50's to the VIP server, and have made new toons there as well.
Quite frankly, I'm going to be playing SWTOR once December 20th hits. I'll come on once and a while to play CoH/CoV... but it will be few and far between. But until then... I'll be running late night TFs like I normally do... either that or doing PUG stuff on the VIP server (ahhhh brings back memories....) -
I haven't messed with it, but I vaguely recall reading this in threads that go something like "Mandatory costume token for gender change".

Quote:I thought the suggestions pointed more towards relocating/consolidating them not getting rid of them. Player Events and SG/VG recruiting should be under whatever server they're on while the Mac issues should be located under the Tech forums as its own Parent forum.I've been taking some notes:
- Many suggestions to do away with the Player Events section, however not the calendar functionality.
- Many suggestions to do away with the SG/VG recruitment section.
- Plenty of suggestions to do away with the Mac forum, however I'm not in favor of this as there are Mac issues which are unique to the Mac client.

So in beta somebody mentioned we get Freeb mounts now, where's mine? :-p

Quote:I was thinking the same thing. Make the default U.S. (American English, as if there's a single version :-p) and have the little flags thing to the left of the menus. They would function like this: I start at English (icon greyed out), but I want to change to French so I click the French flag and Voila!On the main page it would be nice to have an English - Francais - Deutsch drop down and appropriate sections that keyed off of that. Save the info in a never expiring cookie with the language drop down always visible. Default to English. That would un-clutter the front page significantly.

Quote:How about a User CP option that lets us choose what size(small/med/large) or if we want to see the avatars.Gee, now if this is only actually done it would be a start.
Actually a couple of things. First 20KB is a little small for an Avatar. It was fine for 80x80 but 100x100 needs a bit more for a uncompressed image. Say 40KB (100x100x4 bytes per pixel).
However it's still a little small for some animated GIFs. I would say most of the video clip ones are less than 200-250KB, which isn't all that large for an animated GIF. That said I've seen some go up to nearly 2MB. Now that's bending to rules a bit too much.
Oh and why do I know how big people's avatars are? I'm on dial-up and until a couple of years ago I got into the habit of blocking avatars that took more longer to load than the others on the page. Now I have one of those web accelerator proxies that stop animated GIFs and compress jepgs even further.
And the offenders aren't just animated GIFs. This also includes people whose avatar is a high quality, high resolution photo or art. Paint has a way to scale that image down to 100x100, it's not like the tools aren't available people.
Now you, NCSoft/Paragon/your Forum devs could start with the most frequent posters and see how big their avatars are actually and either come up with a more reasonable number or at the very least notify the worst ones and nullify the link. There is only around 3200 people with 1000 or more posts. Sounds like a job for an intern. -
"Playstyle Conversion": See above comments
"Forum Rules and Regulations":
1) Duh and "ok to go";
2) When someone is PM'd about an infraction please specifically state What was said by the person being PM'd or an actual quote so that they know to be more careful OR have a chance to clarify. Yes I realize it's up to the mods to interpret, but still give us a chance to edit/correct. ;-)
3) Again Duh;
4) What about "a rep said to do this to solve the issue" or "it was confirmed that this is being dealt with" with an obvious lack of names, etc;
5)
a) Spam: Duh;
b) /sign: Eh, this is an iffy thing as it can serve as the metaphorical picture expressing a thousand words;
c) Petition: k;
d) Lobbying: Agreed;
e) Pyramid: I can see where this can be a problem, but perhaps we can introduce a forum function that allows one to HIDE part of the reply like other forums I use. Something like a *spoilers* tag that works the same way the quotations function does;
f) Cross-posting: I can see how this would add to the bloat, but some things may apply to two areas of the forums. In that instance I would suggest that someone simply link to that post in an existing thread however instead of creating a whole new thread;
g) Contradictive: ?...you mean negative feedback or the "I'm right, you're wrong" stuff;
h) Rant: Sometimes you just wanna let it all out...how about an "oops let me delete this thread" button;
i) Non-Constructive: Overly non-constructive yes, a passing "I don't like X" is a no so long as it doesn't violate Rant;
j) Departure: How about a consolidated Departure thread somewhere, like they do for the "I hit 50" threads;
k) Necros: You know, some times a thought or idea pops into someone's head that simply doesn't show up or hasn't shown up on a forum in ages. OR you have those of us with weak search-fu. Why create a new thread that talks about an old thread? One would think that this would help keep the clutter down;
l) Answers: Soon(tm)
6) Exploits: If it lets people cheat ingame, then yes. If it lets me say make things visually nice (on my end only) until we get an official addon (maps, icons, etc), then I'd have to plead against it;
7) Inappropriate/OT: *snickers* Ttttteeens play this game? j/k;
8) Ads: We don't need no stinking Ads;
9) 4-letter words: Everybody slips now an then and should be more careful, but see 2 above;
10) Proxy: Not even my Browser uses proxies :-p;
11) No Sue 4 U: I'm pretty sure this falls under Rant;
12) Official: I've seen alot of inhouse thread duplication in which one is a locked information thread while the second is the SAME information, but unlocked and has comments:
13) NDA: I'll assume this becomes void when the related content has entered a Live stage;
14) No Piggs 4 U: As others have said, I'm assuming that using things like "silence the sound" mods won't result in reprimand as it's a client side (not cheating) endevour;
15) PGC: What about images freely available on a google/images search;
16) Wrist Smacking: k;
17) Mine: Yours :-p;
18) Copyright: How soon(tm) would we expect...nm;
19) Hand Cracking: k;
20) Changes: I'd assume that we'd be given some sort of Notice that changes have been made or if this is not the case, then I'll suggest that it Does in the future;
21) made you look -
is sitting here wondering why this is being discussed here instead of say the actual Titan forums. ;-)

I forget what it the exact name for this was, but I did some digging into the core changes into the Windows 8 boot process. It seems that they're trying to build a system that prevents boot viruses amongst other things....
EDIT: found a link similar to what I read on it:
http://www.zdnet.co.uk/news/desktop-...ears-40094017/
That said, the OS allows for NATIVE ISO and VHD loading! They've successfully integrated virtualization into the OS. And it only took them How long to copy this Mac feature?
