    Winter Event?

    [ QUOTE ]
Question; Can you only use the halo costume parts after lvl 30?

If so...thats sucks worse than Snaptooth solo at lvl 7! >.< Really, really annoying...

    [/ QUOTE ]

You can only use the halo costume parts after lvl 30.
  2. Did the advanced one in 1:09 without any buffs or powers other than an unslotted sprint.

    Winter Event?

Paragon Wiki has the badges wrong, the bronze one is Surefooted, not Speeder.

    Winter Event?

    [ QUOTE ]
    Need to vent....

Cannot get past 56 seconds - it's my time, every SINGLE shot I've had on that bloody Expert course, even with multiple SB's, IR's and AM's that's my best time (in fact the more I get the harder it is).

Also, that stupid pause you get going through the teleporter in the middle of the course? Who's idea was that?

How someone managed to get 41 seconds I'll never know.

Thank you for listening. I'm off to beat Snaptooth up to clear my head

    [/ QUOTE ]

Without buffs it's tough to get the Bronze one. I had a rant about this stuff last year though and I'm not going through it again.

How do you get the box with recovery etc. up? I didn't play the game when that was introduced

    [/ QUOTE ]

You mean the box with the attributes? It was answered earlier in the thread.

Considering that the loader has had the message up saying that the winter event is live all day there's not really any excuse for not knowing irrespective of when it was stated on the forums

    [/ QUOTE ]

Unless, like me, you just click straight through the loader message as soon as it pops up.

I didn't know until I actually logged in and got the Father Time message.

Remember folks, not everybody does everything exactly the same way you do!

    This is mine.

I use it for all my alts and only tend to change the colour depending on the character. As you can see I like lots of space!

wow...uhmm, how thick are your glasses?....i have glasses but this is way to small to read.

    ^to above^
in the key mapping there is an option UI toggle screenshot, best key bind you can take is "shift+print screen" so you don't waist any key's to play

    [/ QUOTE ]

Maybe Tellis just has better vision than you in general? Maybe Tellis doesn't wear glasses.

I can read it, I used to have mine that small when I was playing on a tiny monitor.
  8. Mine is set up like the default except that I have the map in the top left and resized smaller and the target window is just under the health, end and xp bar things, just under the power icons.

Rather curious about this but how many people would prefer that the dev's forgo an issue for an entire graphics overhaul? or even a new paid expansion?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Lets expand on that:
Would people PAY for an entire graphic overhaul? Say the amount a new game would cost? If the gameplay would not be altered but the graphics got a big boost?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I would.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You would? £30 for just a graphics overhaul?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd pay up to £14.99 for a graphics overhaul. Up to £30 if extra game mechanics are added.

Such a graphics overhaul would HAVE to include improved character models though.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'd be happy to pay up to £9.99 for a graphics overhaul and I'd grudgingly pay up to £14.99 for one. And yes, I agree on it needing to include improved character models.

Extra game mechanics are certainly worth more.

Golden age green lanterns ring is magic yes, green lanter corps rings are crafted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    And magic weapons aren't crafted?

Besides, you missed the point, it's a ring that does amazing things that rings normally can't do. It's a magic ring.

"Mffh, erm, I mean, hi, Ibu? Listen can you get a post on the forum to let people know that we're on second? Don't want anyone who wants to see us missing out.

    Thanks."

Putting the phone and the poster down he switches on the 50 inch flatscreen, fires up his X-Box and waits for Lips to load...
  17. [ QUOTE ]
The problem isn't with those that definitely want to get the game nor is it with those that can't be bothered to find out about the forums but rather those that want to make an informed judgement as to whether its a game worth playing - you know - the ones that are actually likely to stick around once they find a game they like. Every major game and many of the minor ones have forums - some official, some unofficial so people that want some idea of what state a game is in will seek out these and investigate. What do they see when they check up on CoX hundreds if not thousands of threads saying the game is dying so what do you think they are going to do then - that's right go and play WoW.
FOR GOD'S SAKE STOP MAKING MORE OF THESE.
If you have something constructive to add to them then there's no shortage of other threads asking exactly the same thing and one of those - preferably the first one created is the place to put it - there is absolutely no excuse for creating yet another thread spouting on about exactly the same thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Happening upon a 'doom thread' and deciding not to play it is not making an informed decision, playing the game for a couple of weeks and finding out what it's like whilst looking up as much info as you can is making an informed decision.

And there are not hundreds or thousands of these threads, there are a few.

I don't particularly like threads about how this game is dying or whatever either, but I just don't believe that they're a major contributing factor to a low headcount.

Heck, a lot of people trying it out won't even know that there IS a forum.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Everyone, without exception, is told about the forum. Both when they get their registration email AND every time they start the launcher. They might not GO to the forum, but they know they exist.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've come across people in-game who have said they didn't know there were forums. Some people just don't pay attention to things like that.

    tl;dr remember?

    There are no "fantasy" shields.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tis true, all the 'fantasy' (Kite, Knight, Heater, Targe Round, Cavalier) shields were present throughout points in history and have been used in battle.

Besides...ALL the weapons are Fantasy, that's a lie and you know it, let's take a look at Battle Axe shall we...

Legacy axe/colourable legacy ace, Rularuu's Wrath, Roman Axes: Yup these are fantasy, will agree on that one.

Hatchet, Pickaxe, Shovel, Firemans axe, lumberjacks axe: All are modern day items.

Talsorian, Impervium, Rikti Axe: Sci-fi axes.

Total Fantasy Axes (included Roman A, Roman B, etc.): 5

    Total Modern/Sci-fi Axes: 8.

That's just Battle Axe, Bows have 1 (count it), 1 fantasy based bow (Rularuu's Gaze) all the rest are tech/real world based.

The only one which could be considered having a large number of Fantasy based weapons is Broadsword.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why are you counting the 'Roman' axes as fantasy?

The real problem why EU populations are low?

    Threads like this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    It's really not.

I highly doubt someone who isn't interested in the game is going to go looking on its forums and that someone who is interested in it will base whether or not they'll play it on what people post.

Heck, a lot of people trying it out won't even know that there IS a forum.

    [ QUOTE ]

The game lacks QoL features. Traveling longer then actualy doing a mission is basicly retarted, crosszone teleporting is kinda impossible. The ammount of 'repetative' missions is beyond 'infinitive', Tabula did beat CoH on that point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Aside from the crosszone teleporting, WoW is FAR worse a culprit for these, yet manages about 12 million subscribers.

I'm pretty sure the QoL features have nothing to do with it; it's the genre. Superheroes or scifi combat just aren't as popular as swords and sorcery, and that's unlikely to change.

    [/ QUOTE ]

In gaming terms, probably, yeah. But I think part of the reason that WoW is so big and we aren't is that WoW was based on an already popular franchise and came out at a time when the fantasy MMOs already out were 'old' by MMO standards.

From there it just grew and grew due to word of mouth, then they stuck out some tv ads and now they're just so big that they don't even have to bother advertising, seeing as they get so much coverage everywhere.

If NC had made some good 'offline' games for a few years based on CoH, like Freedom Force or Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and then released CoH, it could possibly have done the same thing.

A single player action RPG based on CoH using Rockstar's city tech with an added Assassin's Creed style movement method for those who don't want to use the other travelling methods, if it's good, would do wonders for subs I think.

Though, you'd then have a bunch of new subscribers annoyed at the game not being as dynamic as the single player version, so you'd then have to upgrade the game, or release a sequel.

    Would cost a lot too.

Yes but i dont think i have ever seen spiderman rushing of down to the salon in full costume to get his hair done. Its a computer game not real life you know, an escape from the real world suppose you would like to see your toons pop down to tesco express for a pint of milk and a mars bar as well

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't remember any comic characters running down to the local clothes shop in full costume to try on some new clothes either.

Besides which, you can already 'get your hair done' at Icon anyway by just choosing a different colour for your hair.

Also, I don't remember many superheroes going 'to the corner shop' to buy 'upgrades'.

    Lighten up.
