  1. It is pretty funny that there's one thread asking for advice on soloing 54/8 Arachnos and Longbow (not level 50, that's a given), and another about buffing Tankers.

No kidding. It may take a little longer to beat down some AVs, but Tank teams can roll through missions, especially when they split up or leap-frog eachother.

I understand the desire to be the sole protector of the team, but the other players need something to do too. A Controller can lock the other enemies down, or a Defender can debuff them, another Tank can get their aggro, etc.
  4. I think the entire mez system should be based on the idea behind Defiance- a gradual loss of powers, instead of all or nothing. Every power could be labelled Level 1, 2 or 3, Level 1 being their most basic attacks. Most holds and stuns would have a good chance of cancelling use of the Level 3 powers (depending on Archetype), stacked or more powerful mezzed would cancel Level 2 powers, and only the most powerful would completely cancel every power.
  5. The only real threat I find against Longbow is the Radiation Wardens. Take them out first and the rest shouldn't be a problem.
  6. It's hard to argue for a Tanker buff when I can go afk in a group of enemies scaled for a full team, while my Blaster, even tricked out with a ton of Defense set bonuses, is always a couple lucky hits away from face-planting.

I'm sure certain sets or powers could be looked at- I think Rooted's movement debuff is a fun debuff- but overall Tankers are easy mode.
  7. Mission Architect Rewards: Buy Paragon Points at their normal price, but instead of personal use, they are given out to others who play your MA storyarcs.

Maybe you have a storyarc you're proud of, or a tough mission you want to challenge others with. Give players an incentive to try your missions with real rewards- one Paragon Point per mission in the storyarc upon completion. Your points will be reserved when you begin the storyarc, so there is no need to rush through the missions (though I realize many will anyway.)
  8. Haven't tried it, but I imagine you'll be able to cap Smashing/Lethal Resistance on Invulnerability without taking Tough. You already can now, but with more overslotting than I think is worth it (I'm at 85% with the Cardiac).

I'll try it out, but I'll probably stick with the Cardiac, it's pretty sweet.
  9. Information about upcoming content is as much a carrot as the content itself, it has to be portioned out carefully.

The thread title isn't an example of wanting everything for free, VIPs pay a monthly subscription.
  11. A VIP subscription costs the equivalent of buying an entirely new game every few months. I agree that should cover all the new content they add to keep us subscribing, no extra costs needed.

But... it's a moot point, the microtransaction model is here to stay. Complaining is pointless, the only worthwhile options are acceptance or cancelling.
  12. I think Trial Zones would be a cool idea. You would need a full team of eight to enter, then you run around defeating enemies and performing mini-missions like Safeguard/Mayhem missions. Other teams may be in the zone as well, but thanks to the new phasing tech (and a lot of space), you shouldn't step on eachother's toes. Or you can work with the other teams, you might want the help against some of the tougher enemies.
  13. I think the Incarnate system already seems daunting enough to many players, with its clunky currencies and creation system, tough trials and high prices. It should be a main draw for VIP subscriptions, but I'm not sure if it is. I think it should be a little more fun and casual-friendly. If that means the hardcore players get all the rewards quickly, so be it.
  14. The creepy cgi face is worse than the song. It's usually just in a blank stare as the mouth moves.
  15. Powers, costumes, emotes- the general rule should be if it's unlocked for your account, it's available in AE.
  16. Recharge bonuses add a lot to damage, because you can Footstomp and KO Blow more often. You'll also want some Recovery bonuses to absorb the extra Endurance usage.
  17. Never thought I'd see Leonard Nimoy perform the old "Where No Man Has Gone Before" joke.

"It has long been stated that the entire cast of Gilligan's Island never received residuals beyond the first four reruns of each episode. This was true for the entire cast except Dawn Wells. When the show was picked up by CBS and Dawn was cast to replace Nancy McCarthy, she was married to her agent at the time. In her original contract she was to be paid $1200 per week plus the residual contract the 6 other castaways received. Her husband/agent said that should the show become successful Dawn would not benefit from receiving such a limited residual option. Believing the show would flop, the CBS executives humored Dawn and her husband and put a clause in her contract giving her long-term residuals should the show ever syndicate. As a result from that clause Dawn has made literally millions of dollars as the years have gone by from syndication of Gilligan's Island. This was never public knowledge. Dawn and series creator Sherwood Schwartz are the only individuals to profit long-term from the series."

So if true, basically Dawn Wells caught a lucky financial break similar to how Lucas retained all merchandising rights to Star Wars.
She deserved it- Mary Ann's short shorts were the best part of the show.

So it is new faces. That's disappointing.
  21. Is the beautification tonic just new faces? Should that really be part of a booster pack?

  23. What's annoying about the internet is most people only stick to the spoiler code for a week or so, then just assume that everyone knows. It wouldn't be so bad if spoilers were relaxed a week or so after a movie is released, but I'm talking about months in advance.

For example, if it came out that Batman dies in the next movie, people would stick to spoilers for maybe a week (I'm being generous), then it would be assumed that everyone knows.

It's tough to follow pop culture online and enjoy new movies, TV, etc. I'm a big fan of Survivor and I basically have to avoid all mentions of it on the internet. Which is too bad, I'd love to discuss it with more people.
