Keep in mind he's talking about a bubble defender, so it's not like he could even speed along killing stuff. He only has himself to blame.

Personally, I think the forums should automatically disallow posts at any time when the words "solo" and "defender" are used in conjunction with a "now how long is this gonna take me" type of attitude.

If they are doing it only for the inherent stamina/health, I wouldn't think too many since there aren't purples for those. Whatever other powers they pick up might actually use some however.

Complete rebuilds though, who knows.

Got a whole mess of Purples stockpiled and have various ones slotted. Maybe I'm crazy, but I like most other IO sets over purples for the various stats. I only have 1 character with slotted Hects, have no range, AoE, or Targetted purples slotted, but plan on selling them. I generally only like Holds, immobs and confuses to slot as I feel those stats are generally better than regular IO bonuses; depends on the character and what they are working on however. Pet purples are hit or miss, but do have a few characters slotted with them, same with Amazements.

As for people playing 50s more, there *should* be more dropping. I think purples are best if you plan on exemping a lot without losing a ton of your dmg/acc/rech/etc. So with my thinking, 50s playing 50s won't be exemping as much, so they will be selling them more, driving costs down some. The damage ones will remain more expensive than all the others however, in my best guesstimation.

A-merits have helped with the horrible implementation of the "rare" IOs, driving prices down to nice levels. Purples and PvPIOs should be the most expensive stuff in the game IMO and the merits helped bring that back into balance. Just how expensive those things become is solely based on greed and the "but I want it now!" mentalitly however. You WILL get any recipe out there for far less than what the market shows if you're willing to wait X amount of time.

Incarnate stats, afaik, do not exemp down, so keep that in mind with planning builds.

Thanks, will take a look when I get a chance at these. I've done many iterations of rebuilds, and nothing looked interesting. I was trying for as much ranged defense as I could, but I wasn't getting anywhere near what I wanted.

How is one soft capped to smash/lethal with your build Vanum? (Do a data chunk if you can please). I care about recovery because I'm very very bored on this guy and am constantly doing something >.> Heat loss helps, but I'm burning through it's effect half the time (it's accuracy is low for me atm).

So I've put off on playing the defender for 3 or 4 weeks now.....and it still bores the hell out of me. Not sure why, other than the low damage and the click / non-active nature of Cold debuff. And I cannot for the life of me make up a build that makes me want to jump on this guy and make life easier for everyone else. Psy attacks just annoy the crap out of me.

Challenge: Come up with a build for a Cold/Psy (dear god why did I pick Psy??). Looking for high recharge, high defense, and decent recovery, but not boring to actually play. I have no interest in solo play for this guy, I just want to be active/effective....and I'm already incredibly active

While I'm thinking about it, and not being something I want to try on a Master run (at first anyway): Instead of Ozoning out with the ambushes, would like someone to race back to the entrance and port people back as the ambushes start to happen.

It seemed pretty consistent where the ambushes were spawning, so once you set up shop there and using the tried-and-true corner method, they really wouldn't be that big a problem. I believe they were spawning every 2 minutes, but we only had a few ambushes still spawning so I couldn't say for sure.

Would save some minutes over the Ozone method. A non master run would easily use Team Recall; a master run would have to rely on the single TP so that would be the only iffy part.

I'm sure it's been done, but just not something I've been on.

There can't be endless "high level content" that will satisfy everyone. You're going to have to repeat something at some point; that's the entire premise of games like this.

They are certainly adding (more) reason to continue to play "finished" characters. I think the alignment merit stuff was a good change to give reason to play 50s (at least for me), and this is adding on top of it. And it will lead to more "high level only" content in the very near future, which just augments their focus change.

As for rarity, I can't imagine it being any different than other drops/rewards.

Special thanks for DC for filling in meatshield role. This is a special Master run because this was the first my scrapper was able to get while having Shamster on the team. And it has been many.......many........many.....attempts with that variable.
