I tried, but I still couldn't break Penny.
I had a blast. I got to shake things up a bit with different characters, but will probably stick with the scrapper for most of the rest of the week. Luckily, I don't mind doing this one over and over compared to the likes of Khan.
Didn't seem to be as much activity compared to the last few Target weeks, but I guess there was something going on on Test? Hopefully it picks up a bit more today. -

Quote:As far as I know, -renderthread has nothing to do with the mouse cursor. The only issue with the cursor had to do with Windows Vista; someone will correct this if incorrect. Objective Feedback: Install and download worked great. But when I fired up the Beta server to make sure everything was working from update installs to launch I did find a problem. That being that my mouse cursor had vanished. And despite adding '-renderthread 1' (which use to let me cursor appear when this happened to the main game after launching with the old CoH launcher back in the day) to the shortcut for the launcher, when the main program launched, the cursor remained missing. Then I found the 'Extra command line bit under properties, and I added '-renderthread 1' there, and upon loading my cursor still did not appear when the game loaded. I then went back and used the '-beta' add on to my main CoH shortcut with '-renderthread 1' added to that as well, and the cursor appeared normally once the game started. The same happened when I fired up the Test server via the NCsoft launcher versus firing it up via the old launcher with '-test' and '-renderthread 1'. So if you can't find a way to make '-renderthread 1' work for CoH via the launcher, then you guys really might want to fix the 'No Cursor' problem with the beta and test versions of CoH (my cursor appears normally in the current Live version of CoH without '-renderthread 1'.)
Edit: Both the Test server and Beta server installs on this computer were just installed recently, and are using the 'default' settings, if that helps.
The following has the available command line options you can use:

If -renderthread affected your mouse before, that's the first I've heard of it at least. -
Speaking of the badge itself. Being team-based, in that scope, is badly designed IMO.
The AV is a jerk, but if having to chase him around with mines going off is what a team needs to do, so be it. I haven't had a team quit / TF fail because they couldn't get past this mission. -
Sure, it can work that way........if you don't have some random/stray/I'mprettysurenoonewasactuallyhitbutwearen'tgoingto giveyoubadgecredit bs going on. Mines can be set in and around that door as well.
There is some kind of delay before the invisomobs show up and run amok with tripmines. Massive debuffs and instadamage will net you the badge everytime if you're on him immediately.
It's a really horribly designed encounter. -

Quote:To be fair, you HAD to tp the team at that point because you created some awful bottlenecks at doors doing it that way (I wasn't on this TF but how do I know? Because you ALWAYS do that).Heh, was on a LGTF the other night with a very bad stalker. Any attempt by him to rush/tp/stealth would be met by him dying five times and accomplishing nothing. We wanted to stealth/tp on the last mission and the stalker refused because "I can't get by the drones."
So... My grav controller did it. No stealth. No invis. No superspeed. No mez protection. I just *flew* to the damn end and tp'ed the team.
Afterward, I advised the stalker to do the honorable thing and delete his character.
Last few weeks have been filled with people doing this. Just kind of annoying to me; people "stealthing" with aggro toggles on or rushing whichever way they can.....and then, more often than not, NOT having recall available and others just can't get through the wall of mobs.
While not rage-worthy, did have some episodes of people insisting on +++ mob difficulty while exemp'd, people clamoring for better coordination and then going off on their own path, and a couple times of "I'm the aggro magnet, follow me!". Typical stuff. It happens. We still get stuff done without bodily harm being insinuated. -
Doubt this will be needed for most, but here it is anyway. Two for each day, more if things go nice and smooth. MUST be Alpha slotted and decent debuff is required so that the wench doesn't maul the lesser incarnates.

Installed fine. Found my Test and Beta installations correctly. Picked the settings I want / currently use. Had to repair my Test server install before it would update it; the download speed for the Test update seemed OK, staying above 800 KBs/Sec (the number reported by the progress bar) though I have no information to compare it to.
Would like to see Server Status information incorporated into the launcher window instead of opening my browser separately.
Would like to see the main graphic (currently for the animal pack) smaller so as to incorporate more news and actual information in the main window. The TF Targets should not be limited to a graphic that flashes by.
Would LOVE to see the window incorporate global friend information to see who is online currently. If there was a way to communicate to them as well, I would forgive all for making me use this launcher as a whole.

I routinely enjoy Community. Especially their off-shoot episodes, so would like to see that come back.
They might have to update that list to include Two and a Half Men on the endangered side
Sigh...did not read the post above mine until after I hit submit. -

Other than Penny's diss and backstabbing
, Mantis runs were pretty good. We either got lucky or they lowered the chances of Toxics even spawning as we didn't even have 1 in either run. Massively more enjoyable than every other dozen times I've done that. And bonus with only ONE Super Stunner spawning in each as well.
Anyway, will probably try for one of them again Friday night sometime after my usual free time, if interested. I think I have a scrapper who needs Sis P badge for TFC, so that'll be my goal but will try to keep the team to 5 or 6 at most for sanity sake. If he doesn't need it, will do whatever has more interest. -
Other than being subjected to Shamster tactics, I've had no issues finding teams for these Targets, and no issues with the few people I pick up from global channels.
I am utterly annoyed at the badge situation, and the non-worthwhile drops for sub-50 TFs however. And I think I say that with each and every run. I will eventually get it done, but I don't have the time, patience, or interest in cramming in anymore than I already am.
Flux, get a bigger, better circle to run with. Just say no to PUGs >.> -

I have several characters with 500+ merits, and a couple with 1000+. I have a multitude of bins filled with the IOs I commonly use. I have several characters with quite a few alignment merits. I've already had my way with the market many times over. I have zero need for more inf. I have no desire to level up anything new / finish the couple of characters not 50. Respeccing characters is on par with getting teeth pulled, but at least with the teeth pulling, I get something fun out of it. The only reason I'm even doing the weekly targets is for the Notices (which I've gotten on all the characters that I wanted it on) and the #@$ !@$@#% @#$@#$% badges for my Scrapper.
tl;dr = Don't care about em -
Quote:I only plan on the VR for the scrapper badger who crafted it last night. Stats really didn't budge much. Also, be careful NOT to craft the exact same Alpha you already have slotted to save a few shards.Given the level shift and probably most of any enhancement bonuses you care about are available with Rare, it looks like the best part of getting Very Rare is probably the 'Incarnate' title.
Not even bothering with Target runs on most other characters because they don't need (nor do I want) the notices on them past the Rare. -
Quote:Have you played with my 'shade? He doesn't need the nuke. Again, playstyle.Have you played with my Warshade at 50? Because that thing wipes out minions and LTs.
p.s. If you dislike crash nukes, try */MM blasters, Cold/* Def or */Cold Corr. Sure, it crashes, but with DP or Heat Loss, does it matter?
I've played everything. I know what I like and I know how to make it all work. But I prefer using what I have fun with. *shrug*
Quote:Also, to Voo, thunderous blast doesn't crash. Just saps 40 end in addition to the cost.
Anyway, back to the reason for the thread, dude needs some goals instead of just having lots of random IO set bonuses going. Capping blaster HP is pretty easy FYI. -
Quote:Decent run last night.
Voo, I am being slow this morning due to lack of coffee, but is it Sis P again tonight? If so, going to drop out and either look for a Mantis tonight or work on a lowbie.
Scrapper goes either way; he is a robot after all and has no preference.
Figured Sis P would get more play, and Mantis' last mission can suck the will to live out of Santa Clause depending on which missiles spawn.
For those interested, I leave it up to majority rule. Will YOU do two runs if it's Mantis??? -
Quote:Did a Sister P on my MM last night. Completed in 2hrs 03m. Cont me in for tonight Voo.
. I'll hold ya a spot.
Did 2 last night, a bit over an hour each. If Super Stunners didn't spawn, it probably would have been about 40 min each. I think it could go faster, but it depends on the team make up. The AV fight lasts about 10 seconds regardless.
Not enjoying being exemp'd, no purples, no shards, and so far, no good drops.
Might try for a Mantis on Friday. -
Quote:Playstyle. Never liked them, same with the tier9 god modes. The main reason is the end drain. The newer tier9s are better IMO in that they don't completely wipe out your end. Never bothered with it on the Warshade, but with his necroheal, it would be slightly less annoying.....if the nuke actually killed anythingWhy is this suspect? They're fun! I use mine on my WS every time I can get a double or triple mire Quasar off. Which is about every 96 seconds currently. 90s with spiritual core paragon, 83s with purples.
But for nukes, speaking of the one blaster I enjoy playing (fire/lolIce), he absolutely doesn't need it solo or in group. Full mob groups go down fast enough as it is. Being HP and def capped and highly resistant makes him a monster.
I also hardly ever use Inspirs, tier9s on the WP or Shield (the only characters I have that even have access to powers like that), and love abusing aggro caps.
Playstyle -
Many things are suspect in this thread.
Wanting to use a nuke as much as possible?
Respect for Shamster?
Shamster giving build advice?????
SOMEONE DOESN'T ALREADY USE MIDS!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Kind of wish I had a copy of the original hero planner to reminisce with. -

Quote:/chan_join "channel name"How do I join those channels?
Yeah I like going on the forums and talking on there and stuff, same with a guild if they have a website and stuff mostly on there. Just looking for some buddies to play the game with and have some fun.
Not sure if Victory Forum still auto silences people or not. If so, look at the member list and send a tell to one of the freaks with OP status (white star or something next to their name) -
