Quote:Those aren't my peers though. In any sense of the word. So it'll never happen in the first place. And I believe a jury is usually reserved for civil cases or felony charges? I can't really say for sure because I most certainly have found good practices to get out of jury duty.
A 'jury of peers' typically consists of people who can't figure out a way out of jury duty and people who genuinely don't have anything else better to do. I can't say whether MG belongs in either of those groups or not.
Quote:Er.....I'm pretty sure I haven't read them all. But I can read the post count. If you spent only 30 seconds average on each of your posts then you've spent 189 hours just making posts on this game's forums.
PS Yes, I realize that making that calculation was a nerdy thing to do. But I'm open about my nerdiness instead of trying to stay in the closet.
I'm far more open about my proclivities than you can imagine; I just don't label them.
Thing is, this distraction is based off a misnomer, or at best a misunderstanding; I said nothing about this "nerd" fest you are gloming on to. I was, in fact, pointing out Mental's obsession (which very well may be made up but one of which I enjoy to pretend exists) with a particular show and its fans' moniker. I'm sorry if I struck a chord too close to home
But at least this has been more interesting than the original intent of the thread before Mental decided to fan the flames of misdirection? -
Quote:So you're putting forth the mere notion that a) posting on a forum (game, etc...the simple reality of just being online in general) is somehow a felony and b) being a "nerd" is a prosecutional offense?Well.......you do have over twenty-thousand posts on a computer game's forum. A jury would find you guilty of being a nerd based on that evidence alone.
And a jury of my peers? The same people who would include others with *far* more posts in *less* time? Or people like Mental?
I'll take my chances and stand by my convictions. But I thank you for taking the time to read every post over the years. You are a better person for it. -

Quote:Alright. The first week of doing BAFs I was getting weird stuff (one character got 4 Emps), and subsequent runs were either focused on iXP or parts and wasn't paying attention. No you do not get an extra emp, you get a free rare from Master badges.
I guess my point was, if they are getting rid of the Emps from BAF/Lam if we at least had an astral conversion it would help a bit.
I dislike the conversion idea as well and would prefer *just* an Astral cost; and no, not 15 Emps worth of Astrals.
I would really prefer no outside requirement to unlocking a branch I already have, but I guess that's off the table. -
Quote:Not for the 15 Emp cost IMO, especially if they are going to continue with the Emps not apply for Baf/lambda.Out of curiosity... if they made an astral to Emp conversion or even a thread to Emp conversion... would that help people out?
Say 6 astrals- 1 emp or 30 threads- 1 emp. (there has to be some kind of "cost" factor)
If this was put in place, I would feel a lot better about proposed changes.
Been awhile, but do you currently get an extra Emp for doing a complete Master run on BAF? And I would assume if that's the case, also on Keyes/UGT? I do not know if that extra Emp was affected by a cool down or not. Also don't know if it was a one-time reward on a character for the master badge or if it was something repeatable. -
Quote:Yes, 3 dates. Server transfers are the 1st of the Month (or when you first log in after that date). For what its worth.
I got my 400 points sometime last week (don't remember the date)
I got my vet reward token yesterday
I still have not gotten my free transfer
I would have thought that was tied to one of the other, but there are possibly three dates?
Points date is all over the place and maybe someday will come closer to some date between your vet date and your subscription date.
Token date is, apparently, sometime "around" the 28th of every month? At least, for some people. -
Didn't have a token as of mid-afternoon yesterday so will check later today I guess. Still isn't working as it should IMO, regardless of people starting to get one now.

Yep, but I don't know if it will follow the current structure for crafting. I'm sure it will, which is disappointing. Thus leading to the "per character" thing a big turn off for me. If it kept the same structure but only cost X Emps to unlock for the account, then it'd be far more appealing to me.
I was wishful nudgenudge thinking outloud. Maybe "soon" they'll rethink their approach to keeping status quo on things that are generally overblown / cumbersome / not necessary out of the gate.
..... ha ha. -
Quote:I read that part about going to the NPCs to buy them.....I don't think I care for that. BUT....and I haven't checked, what are the costs to make the parts? Additional components? If it were a straight 15 Emp cost to unlock AND make (pick and choose), I'm sold..... per character. If not, for what I read about them, I'm really not interested in most regardless. But that Vorpal one sounds pretty cool. The more iTrials they implement, the less time I have to play other characters, and the less interest I have in Incarnifying characters I don't play. Adding giant costs to stuff I'm not interested in completely puts me off of bothering with them. One part I hadn't read yet was that the two new Trials have repeatable Emp rewards. You get two the first time, but during the 20 hour cooldown you still get one Emp out of them.
Obviously I have no idea how long these two new ones are, but I predict people grinding them just as hard as BAF and Lambda now, especially since the new Incarnate powers are 15 Emps each (Not sure if this is a toon or account unlock... for 15 Emps I'd hope account).
Since the two new iTrials only give one type of iXP, I would think they'd have to be on par with BAF/Lambda in terms of ease/teammates/time spent. With Keyes being juiced to be more appealing (in theory), and UGT not being hard at all and both giving great iXP for *both* types at once, they do seem to be the better bet. I'm not talking about badges here, that's a whole different story; I still need two Keyes badges and hope I can get those before the new shinies show up
I'll certainly see how they go. The "here's stuff that should have been in I21 anyway and fixing stuff we already broke" half update doesn't really have me stoked right now. And I'm still wanting more actual TFs for higher levels; not nearly as involved as iTrials, but something 8 man teams can still tackle and have fun with. -
If I had to pay for First Ward missions, I would be absolutely livid for the waste of money.
For the levels they are made for, they are absolutely overboard on everything; mob powers, sizes, travel to and fro to go talk and talk and talk and talk and talk and talk, oh and go back and talk and talk and talk talk about what you just talked about, now go explain what you saw, etc etc.
Being on teams for all of this, I just have bits and pieces of the supposed story going on. I WOULD have gone back and solo'd them on something else at some point to actually, maybe, try to enjoy the story, but having actually played through them, I have absolutely no interest in going back and reliving any of it. And this is coming from someone who has done literally every - single - story arc in the game so far on my own.
Cannot wait to get the hell out of that zone, and hopefully next week is the last. -
Am I the only one looking for the words "we were wrong", "we screwed up", "we are actively working on it"? When I read something along the lines of "We have not posted a new update regarding this situation as we are still awaiting clarification regarding certain aspects" means nothing to me. That's just a delay tactic. That's talking around the issue. By all means, thanks for *finally* chiming in, but you've yet to actually say anything.
Many things have failed here; the communciation, the implementation, and the corrections (and by things that have actually been said, the corrections the players are asking for, questioning, and demanding are only perceived and not a shared sentiment by the Rednames). There is no talking around any of that. Stuff has to actually happen. But stuff can't happen if it isn't actually owned up to. If you (Paragon, NCSoft, Rednames) don't think anything is wrong, say so. If you do think something is wrong, say so. Either way, stop talking around it and get your stories straight. -
Speaking of finding out what's new on Netflix....don't they have an email they can send out when something new is added? Or that I might actually be interested in based on all that star'd info?
If there is one, point me at it since I've yet to find it with random hunts when I think about it. -
Quote:I admit I squeed a little when I saw Walking Dead in the new arrivals the other day; I have to assume that means Season 2 will be added at some point, right? RIGHT??? It's the only way I'm going to (legally) get to see it :SThe Walking Dead (season 1)!
Warehouse 13 (seasons 1-2)!
Tron: Legacy!
Howl's Moving Castle!
Warehouse 13 I added because it sounded interesting to check out. The timing seemed just about right.
I found it odd Tron: Legacy was added to my Instant Queue on it's own, but assume it was placed there because the DVD had been on the DVD queue? I recently switched over to the streaming only option, and am wondering if the DVD queue will be used to port to my stream queue when those selections are converted? Time will tell. -
Quote:I'd like to continue the discussion regarding this specifically, hoping that the points problem has actually been worked out and this won't happen again. Though I still do not care for the backend approach to getting these.
The monthly Paragon Reward Tokens are awarded differently. They follow the same schedule as the old Veteran Reward program. This means you may not receive them on the same date that you receive your monthly VIP Paragon Rewards Points. Veteran rewards were calculated based on the time your game account was actually playable with active paid game time, and not just based on your bill date. Just as a temporary block changed your Veteran Reward dates, these types of things changes to your game account will also change the date you receive your monthly VIP Paragon Reward Tokens. You also have to play out the month of game time before receiving the tokens. You may pay for time in advance, but you have to play out the time before you receive your next reward.
But this token business needs to change; I'm having a real hard time figuring out why I should maintain a subscription being all tiered out already, knowing I can get bonus points for purchases (given immediately) and for every $15 worth of purchase I get a token as well (again, given immediately). If I'm wrong about any of this, please correct me. I have to be missing something, right? Toss on top of that, I really don't know when I'm going to actually get this token via subscription .... because I've already surpassed my old veteran schedule and still have not gotten a token. If it's based off yet another thing, that's just adding fuel to the fire.
Change the system for subscriptions:
* Token given at the beginging of the cycle
* Points given at the begining of the cycle
Just not seeing the added value of a continued subscription. -
Quote:I suggest they change this for subscribers to all be on the same damn date.I checked my points 5 minutes ago, and yep, I got them, thanks Z! Oh, by the way Gideon, you wont see a Token till the end of the month, or last day of your billing cycle, Z said this in the original post.
For giggles, when Freedom launched, which Tokens did we get credit for? They threw in the September one with all the previous "vet time" ones ahead of the supposed "tokens at the end of the month/billing cycle"? -
