    Archery/?

Recently, there was a "FANTASTIC" thread on Archery.

    Archery

If that doesn't convince you to shoot something [either yourself, your eyes, or badguys] with sharp and pointy sticks, nothing will.

That's a tough call. You don't have Aid Other or Triage Beacon, so if you drop Repair you'll only have the Protector Bot heals to keep up with the Bodyguard damage. With your massive defense it might be enough, but I'd want a little healing. Personally, I'd drop Leadership and take Poison Trap and either Triage Beacon or Aid Other. If you plan on soloing AVs, I'd go with Triage Beacon... something like this:

[u]Click this DataLink to open the build![u]

If you aren't interested in AV soloing, I'd use the exact same build but with Aid Other instead of Triage... it's more useful in general, but Triage Beacon is fantastic for long stationary fights. Repair is a nice emergency heal but it's too long recharge to use for incidental damage... I like using Aid Other to handle Bodyguard damage or the occasional stray hit in between spawns and Repair to save my Assault Bot when he draws too much aggro. Against hard targets you'll be taunting so the only damage the bots will take is from stray minions and Bodyguard... Triage Beacon is the best cure for that but if your personal defense is high enough you can use Aid Other, or let the Protectors handle it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh...wow, the lost of Manuevers didn't hurt as much as I thought It'd would...

I think I may change Repair and Triage Beacon (in the build you sent) to Aid Other and Aid Self.

    Thanks for that!

Also heard rumours that /Sonic may be in the works...

Oh, and Pyromania makes one crazy as hell. Just take the TF2 Pyro for instance.

As an example you might be familiar with Enos, I respec'd Maker into Aid Other when he was in the 30s I think, dropping Repair, and it was much, much easier to manage that way. Also lets you help the teammates in a pinch. Repair unfortunately doesn't do that for you.

Opinions vary though, as you've noticed. So take this as just one option if you're really stuck for power selections or slots

    Hmm...da Maker has Aid Other...

Well...da Maker IS pretty bad [censored]....

Poison Trap can provide some mitigation, but that's not really why you get it (not since it got fixed and doesn't spawn multiple clouds). You get it for the -1000% regen debuff... that's an 85% debuff on an AV even after their debuff resistance, and no regen at all against anything lower. It really speeds up killing EBs and can help some against bosses, while also causing a minion or two to puke and stop shooting you for a few seconds.

As for the stun, don't count on it too much. The Protector Bot photon grenades have a pretty long recharge and yours have only a 30% chance to stun. The Seeker Drones have a 25% chance.

I personally would keep Maneuvers since you are already going to have a lot of defense. I'd also try to fit in the Edict of the Master pet defense IO... probably by replacing the Endoplasm in Protector Bots. Protectors don't need that much accuracy, and 5% defense to all pets is better than a slightly longer stun.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, good call....about the pet defense IO that is.

so, would you drop Repair for Poison Trap?

Only because with all the stun I'll have, (seekers, Photon Grenade, Protector Bots

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think this technique is under-appreciated. I have a Robots/Dark with Photon grenade, Howling Twilight, and Protector Bots and their photon grenades and seekers. There is a LOT of mitigation in an endless stream of stuns.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, imma go Dolph Lundgren on some faces!
  11. Ah glad to hear it.

I'll be straight forward though and say my biggest issue was between Repair and Poison Trap. Only because with all the stun I'll have, (seekers, Photon Grenade, Protector Bots), I didn't think I'd have much use for it.

I was hesitant to drop leadership only because Maneuvers stacks so well with both sets and Tactics should help the babybots hit in the higher levels, i don't know what I'd pick up in it's place...

    Hmm...so...Poison Trap...

    Thanks for the response Khenal_Baroney!

My first MM to 50 was my Bots/FF, after attempting a Ninja/Storm. The Nin/Storm made it to 22 and has since been deleted. The Bots/FF is very forgiving to learn with and once slotted is practically unkillable. Keep everyone bubbled and you'll be providing your teams a level of mobile fortification and fire support that should probably be illegal.

Please don't make the mistake of Ninja/Storm right off the bat.

    >.>

    Seriously. Please don't.

    or a Necro/Traps...
  13. Yeah, after they increased the animation time on ET, this would be a nice boost to EM to bring it a little more up to others in AoE
  14. Jeas, I haven't made a Mastermind ever since my tragic experience with my Necro/Traps. ((hey, invisible exploding zombies SEEMED like a good idea at the time >_&gt)

Since that tragic time, I've decided to give MMs another go.

This time though, I went with something a little more conventional. But being the person I am, i couldn't just make a normal MM build, I had to have a concept that fit my main "character" Vojin (see Avatar) yet was badass in it's on right.

    I got it!

    What is it _Enos_?

    A Vojin Shocktrooper.

He's already level 8 and with some help from Crey, he has two friendly little death dealing robots with him. But, he also has...dun dun dun...two personal attacks!

Now now, before I post my build for someone to go "_Enos_, wtf is that", I must say, I am keeping the personal attacks like KO Blow, and the rifle attacks because He's a freaking shock trooper with an army of robots. He charges into battle and the damage feedback his suit suffers gets fed into the robots, pisses them off, and the bots charge with him.

I think I managed to soft cap (with the help of the protector bot) all three positions, and wish i could get a little more Psychic Defense (for those blasted Psychic attack that have no positional defined...) but with the ability to taunt, one AoE, one Rifle and one melee and the various other things he has (Ghost Slaying Axe and Nem Staff as well!), I think this is a quirky build worth mentioning.

Or maybe I'm feeding my interwebz ego.

    Whatever.

Suggestions, thoughts, ideas, scorn, praise, all is welcome.

I build a Grav/Sonic phasetroller awhile back, and actually really enjoyed the toon. You can put DF on your Sing, which actually extends slightly beyond his repel field radius, and wormhole groups into corners where they will remain (usually) debuffed. It's not very "fast", compared to some of the AoE-intensive primaries, but it's safe, fun, and very, very team friendly!
