  1. Alright...this might sound crazy but it could work...potentially.

Make AE require a level 50.
The same way EATs and VEATs are aquired.

After you reach level 50 with a character you can now make missions and you can do AE missions with any level character.

Therefore the only people doing the AE missions are people that have went through the game the original way 1-50.

This makes sense to me because I always thought of AE missions to be missions you do because you have done all the original content over and over.
Also, as a side perc...you can potentially level faster now since you have already leveled a character to 50.

I see no problem with that...I mean you have to level to 35 to get into RWZ.

Don't deliberately make the game non-fun for yourself.
Do what you need to do to have fun in this game and let others do what they need to do to have fun.

Ah, yes, because everyone who goes 1-50 in AE has a glowing icon next to their name that says "AE Baby." How silly of us all to miss that!

    Oh, wait, there's not?

So, pray tell, short of being psychic....

It's hypocritical because the real reason your upset is because you want to make the game easier by inviting players on your task force team that know what they're doing instead of just teaching someone how to play and informing them.

I play the game to have fun. Repeated team wipes because some people aren't carrying their weight is not fun for me. Waiting while an epic AT finds King's Row is not fun for me. Teaching a level 40 what enhancements do is not fun for me.

I'm sorry if you feel that me wanting to have fun while playing a game is hypocritical.

Wait. What? We want to make the game easier because we expect a level 30+ character to know how to get around or find a mission? You know, like the basic stuff you learn in the tutorial?

    [/ QUOTE ]

There you go...AE is not the problem.

They should make it so that every person that buys the game has to do the tutorial once.
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    QR

Instead of 3 months, make it one character, 3 levels. First character to hit level 4 unlocks AE for the entire account. After that, they can even take a brand new character into AE, if they want.

That way they've talked to a contact, done at least one door mission, and had experience with both choosing powers and placing slots.

Make it retroactive to EVERY existing account at the time they implement it. Sure, a few who haven't "qualified" yet will slip past, but that's better than a new player suddenly losing AE access that they had.

It doesn't restrict farming or powerleveling, all it does is give a brand new account a taste of the rest of the game.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well that may not be the case all the time.

I can remember when I made my first character...the game was so fun just running around killing atlas killing because i was in awe of my powers (electrical blast) that by the time i went to do something else i was level 6.

Level 10 might be a better setpoint...because then you also...well should at least have used the train.
  6. Most of these posts are kind of hypocritical.

Your mostly upset that players are now making the game easy on themselves by leveling up quickly in AE.

It's hypocritical because the real reason your upset is because you want to make the game easier by inviting players on your task force team that know what they're doing instead of just teaching someone how to play and informing them.

The devs were honestly trying to improve PvP. PvPers responded by leaving. Now they can't even get feedback to fix things.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think because all the PvPers before the change though it was good as it was...myself included.

I honestly don't care now that it has been so long because this is truly an extremely fun game to play just PvEing all the time...but I remember I tried to stick with PvP even after the changes but there would literally be no one in the PvP zone anymore...(on the Protector server)...but yeah it's definitely crazy that at one point all I did was hang in Recluses Victory PvPing all day long and now after the changes I can't even remember the last time I went there.

It's sad but like I said at least PvE is still fun.

been playing a DM/WP for a bit and have started to try to plan out a build. Here is something i through together quick. Nothing special, not trying to kill AV's just tryin to get the most out of it without getting purps. Inf is kinda short so not looking for something super expensive.

I should add, I've never had a WP hero or villain before so not exactly sure what im doing

I'm guessing Jump Kick or Flurry.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, I don't even PvP anymore after they made all the changes.
I just never found out till today that Kick and Jump Kick are such high damaging powers in PvP.
It was shocking to see it at first.

As for the "game loving devs" comment....I just needed to add a Where question haha.
  11. Who thinks the PvP damage on power pool attacks is crazy?
What was the reason given for this?
    When did they change this?
Where did the actual game loving devs go?
Why the hell is this like this?
  12. [ QUOTE ]
Midnight Grasp probably gets the Hecatomb. Yeah, it would do more damage in Smite or Shadow Punch, but Midnight Grasp will probably need the recharge since you don't have Hasten.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You really think the damage output will be sufficient without Soul Drain up most of the time?
I've been messing around in Mids making a build without Hasten, and I can get Soul Drain down to a 44s recharge. That means it will be down for 14 secs.
  13. I have one that has soloed two AVs (Chimera, Shadowhunter).

I've been messing with mids, creating various builds trying to come up with the best overall (on paper) DM/WP AV soloing build.

I'm not going to post a build...yet...because I don't want you to critique my build.

I'm asking for you to make a DM/WP AV soloing build.
If you ever planned to make one...what would it look like?
  14. Is that combo capable of soloing AVs?
  15. Awesome power I agree...but the wind-up is very cartoony.
  16. Vitality

    Electrical Blast

If I make an electrical blast villain and then switch to hero in the going rogue expansion will i still have red electricity?
  17. I'm having a hard time choosing between an Elec/Elec/Elec Blaster and a Kin/Elec/Elec Defender for soloing.

What are the pros and cons of both?
  18. Vitality

    Kin/Elec solo?

Has anyone used this combo solo?
    Is it viable?

    Elec/Elec/Elec

    [ QUOTE ]
My current elec/elec blaster is 35, so I can't offer advice "from the top," but the melee attacks are what make it fun for me. They hit like trucks and can compensate for the primary lacking a heavy-hitting single-target blast outside the snipe.

Please be aware that END sapping won't become reliable until you have both Short Circuit and Power Sink, although SC actually does decent damage as well but with a long animation time.

Strategy-wise, my elec/elec usually plays hit-and-run, opening at range, closing to melee to finish one or two targets and kiting the rest.

    Have fun!

    [/ QUOTE ]

The build I have planned does not take Charged Brawl nor Havoc Punch. I'm thinking it will still be a fun build though.
  22. Vitality

    Elec/Elec/Elec

    [ QUOTE ]
The very first character I ever played to 50 was exactly this build. Here are my impressions:

*The character was very easy to solo, as long as you were smart about it. Heavy use of the snipe plus the holds meant that most of the time foes couldn't fight back. The E3 build definitely trades raw damage for more control.

*The endurance drain aspect was, for me, most useful in battles with bosses, I actually didn't use it so much in normal fights: I'd hit a boss with tesla cage and shocking grasp (or, later, shocking bolt), run up and drain out all his or her end, and then just keep attacking normally to keep the boss' end floored.

*My build did use stamina - without it, it was too easy to run out of endurance before power sink recharged, especially because I very frequently fired off ball lightning - almost treating it as a single target attack (it is very fast animating, but since it's an AOE it isn't endurance efficient), since you actually lack the third single target blast found in many other blaster sets. I certainly would never make the claim that was the best or most efficient way to play, but it was fun, and helped me defeat things faster than just alternating charged bolts and lightning bolt over and over again.

    Hope this helps!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah an Elec/Elec blaster was my first character...I made to level 30 then I found out about Tanks and Scrappers and I have only been playing those two ATs ever since.

I've always wanted to level up an E3 because the concept is badass.

What is really going to make me actually level one all the way up now is the use of Short Circuit and Power Sink to be able to drain all enemies of endurance.

This seems increadibly fun and looks on paper like I could "easily" stand in the middle of the group and take it down with...Short Circuit-Power Sink-Ball Lightning-Thunder Strike...also with the added help of Lightning Field.

This build actually seems so fun to play that I'm almost about to take off work early haha.
  23. Vitality

    Elec/Elec/Elec

This build seems to have the potential of unlimited endurance and the ability to render groups unable to attack.

What are some opinions from people who have done this combo?
It seems this could solo fairly well with just a little tactics.

    D3 soloing EBs?

    [ QUOTE ]
Lol, i solo AV's, so yes you can too!

I use Dark/Dark/Power though, the Dark Epic has little to offer you cant use from your primary and secondary.

I only use Power Boost from the epic set to get the 80% damage increase, but that is because i pvp as well.

Try all of the dark powers and see which powers you like best then respec when you hit level 50 to keep the powers you like.
There are 2 groups of defenders, those who rely on Tarpatch and those like me who use it as an afterthought. You need to find out what your playstyle is.
These are the powers i currently use but i have used all the dark powers and have found from the epic set Dominate (psi) to compliment lifedrain. I will list my current Enhancements, but i recommend SO's to start. All IO's are lvl 50.

    Twilights Grasp (6 Numina's, if using SO's slot 2 accuracy's)
    Dark Blast (6 Devastation)
    Gloom (6 Apocalypse)
    Moonbeam (6 Sting of Manticore)
Recall Freind (1 Interrupt Reduction IO)
Howling Twilight (1 Recharge Red. IO)
    Shadow Fall ( 3 Karma)
    Air Superiority (6 Mako's Bite)
    Fly (2xFly IO)
Grant Invisibility (1 Defence Buff IO)
    Invisibility (1 Defence Buff IO)
Phase Shift (1 Recharge Red. IO)
    Swift (2xFly IO)
    Health (6 Miracle)
    Stamina (6 Performance Shifter)
Fearsome Stare (6 Glimpse of the Abyss)
    Tenebrous Tentacles (1 Accuracy IO)
Tar Patch (1 Recharge Red. IO)
    Darkest Night (6 Darkwatcher's Dispair)
    Dark Servant (5 Regenerative Tissue)
    Blackstar (6 Eradication)
Epic Power: Power Build Up (6 Gaussians Synchronized Fire Control)
Petrifying Gaze (4 Ghost Widows Embrace)
    BlackHole (1 Accuracy)
in the regular ability RUN i 2 slot Run IO.

Most ppl will tell you this is a bad mix, well it works for me and people always want to PvP or team with me.

Air Superiority gives you a surprise attack that does Knockdown and a fair amount of damage, i have fly so i do not need hover.

I took Phase shift early so i can chase villians in BloodyBay into thier base as well as spring ambushes. Also Invis and Phase Shift lets you stealth TaskForces.

Blackstar is your Big Nuke. Hit all your accolades, pop 2 yellow and 2 red inspirations, hit Power Build Up and WHAM - you can take out most opponents in one blast and those left standing still have minus accuaracy and other effects. Hit your blue inspirations right after triggering blackstar so you recover endurance.

BlackHole is said to be the most useless power but it can stop AV's from attacking, seperate Lord Recluse from the Pylons in the Statesman Task Force, Halt attacks from mito's (Hamidon), and with Phase Shift lets you control PvP.

You might have heard Superspeed and Superjump is best for pvp, that is not totally true, with 2 slotted Fly and Swift you will have speed and in an outdoor area you have control.

Only YOU can decide what are your best powers!

So try them all and above all HAVE FUN THAT IS AN ORDER

You really can put out enough damage to solo AVs?
  25. Either of those primaries with SR would be great for what you want to do.
Katana/WP would be great for what you want to do.
