A couple things I noticed ...
Your smashing/lethal defense is a little low. I'd really try and get that up over 30%. I personally like to have all my typed defenses somewhat equal so I don't have a weak spot.
Your accuracy is really high. Is that intentional or a by product of the purples? You don't actually need that much accuracy. Also you have extra recharge in some of your attacks that you don't need, assuming you are planning on running SP - Smite - SL - SP - Smite - MG chain.
I agree you do not need hasten. You give up too much survivability just to run a slightly better attack chain.
I don't particularly like the purple set in Soul Drain. You like to have minions around to fuel RttC and Soul Drain. With the damage you have slotted in Soul Drain, they wont be around long.
Here is my AV killer build. There is even an extra blank slot in Tough that I had originally planned for the PvP +3 def. IO, but I have since changed my mind on it, and have not decided what to do with the slot. I have not run into any unbeatable AV's with this build yet (no temps or insp.) though I've really just begun my AV killing spree.

Your defenses are nice of course, but it seems like your lacking a good attack chain.
Your accuracy seems a bit low and you don't even have enough recharge to run the SP-Smite-MG-SP-Smite-SL chain.
The use of Shadow Maul and Boxing are going to actually hurt your overall DPS.
I'm guessing you use SP-S-SP-MG-SP-S-SP-SL chain? -
I've been trying to come up with the best possible DM/WP AV killing build.
I have a DM/SR, but I just really like what WP can do with the powers it has...I just have more fun playing a DM/WP than a DM/SR.
My problem is I really want to solo AVs.
I think I might have the "perfect" build to do so but I'm just not sure.
I do not have hasten in the build because I feel I would have to give up too much defense to fit it in, so I am aware that this build will take longer to actually take down an AV.
Also...no hasten means Soul Drain will be down for 15.7s which I think should be fine...while it's down I believe my DPS will still be enough to at least keep the AVs HP bar from regenerating.
I'm pretty confident this build should be able to pull it off.
I figure I will start the fights with SoW up and then by the time it drops the stacked tohit debuffs (yes I understand that AVs resist these) should be enough to keep me alive throughout the fight because my regen is pretty high and of course the spamming heal of Siphon Life.
I'm basically asking what are your thoughts on this build for soloing AVs?

I like to be the type of Scrapper that helps his teammates along with killing everything in my path.
How effective is Provoke?
I had a DM/WP that I loved...it helped me pull agro of of others with the taunt aura in RttC.
I recently got a DM/SR to 50 which is now my new favorite Scrapper but I do not like not having any Taunt.
Would getting Provoke on my DM/SR be a good thing for that?
Also...what does the animation of Provoke look like? -
Are these AVs going to be weaker version than facing them in their actual mission?
-
As long as I can always get Focused Accuracy and Conserve Power in the same set...the Scrapper APPs will never suck to me.

This is my general, fun DM/SR build:

Which isn't Mutation at all. It's Science.
[/ QUOTE ]
Almost all mutation could also be science.
"Induced mutations on the molecular level can be caused by:
Radiation
Ultraviolet radiation (nonionizing radiation). Two nucleotide bases in DNA cytosine and thymine are most vulnerable to radiation that can change their properties. UV light can induce adjacent thymine bases in a DNA strand to pair with each other, as a bulky dimer.
Ionizing radiation"
[/ QUOTE ]
Considering that the fundamental difference between the Mutation and Science origins is that Mutation is something that is innate and you were born with and Science is triggered by something happening to you after you were born, radiation triggered mutations would be Science origin.
[/ QUOTE ]
Your right...the in-game mutation origin is only for those born with it. -

Definitely not Natural. To even suggest Natural is a joke.

I could care less about how PvP is now.
The PvE in this game is still fun for me, thats why I'm still here.
I will say this though.
I was an everyday PvPer on the Protector server until the day the changes were implemented.
After the changes I tried to still PvP in recluses Victory...I would go in there everyday for about two weeks and no one was ever in there...you would occasionally get the farmers but that was it.
Ever since then I have not went into RV.
Whether or not the PvP changes helped or hurt PvP...which the answer will of course vary from player to player...I do know that the changes hurt my experience with the game because seemingly the changes were so bad that no one even stuck around so that I could try the changes out.
That to me tells me that the changes to PvP actually hurt PvP in the long run.
But again, like i said...the PvE in this game is so fun that I will never stop playing despite not being able to PvP. -

Hi Vitality.

No...what I mean is you only have to get ONE character to level 50 to open up AE content for your whole account.
That means as soon as you get your first character to 50 you can go and create another character and do AE content from level 1 on.
[/ QUOTE ]
I know you mean well..... but, bad idea.
My family has 5 accounts.
My account(currently in use by my daughter) is about to ding 60 months.
My sons account, about to ding 57 months.
Both of the those accounts have allot of 50's both red and blue side. Now on my other 3 accounts...... they are about to ding 12 months, none of them have a fifty.
Your idea is to limit me from playing AE because I don't have a 50, on the account I am playing on? Sure... lets do that.
BC
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah I see your point.
I never thought about the people who have more than one account.
Again...that idea was all based on the fact that you have to hit 50 with one character to unlock the EATs.
Now that I know the real reason why the devs said unlocking EATs by obtaining a level 50 was a bad idea I now realize my idea for unlocking AE is bad.
Because even though you have 3 accounts you still can't get an EAT on your third account. -

The devs were honestly trying to improve PvP. PvPers responded by leaving. Now they can't even get feedback to fix things.
[/ QUOTE ]
I think because all the PvPers before the change though it was good as it was...myself included.
I honestly don't care now that it has been so long because this is truly an extremely fun game to play just PvEing all the time...but I remember I tried to stick with PvP even after the changes but there would literally be no one in the PvP zone anymore...(on the Protector server)...but yeah it's definitely crazy that at one point all I did was hang in Recluses Victory PvPing all day long and now after the changes I can't even remember the last time I went there.
It's sad but like I said at least PvE is still fun.
[/ QUOTE ]
"PvPers leaving" has more to due with the fact that they were used to the status quo and the rules. Change the rules, and they resent it forever. It's a pretty well-documented fact among any game that has PvP as an option in it. Those who "enjoyed" the rules will hate the change and those who feel the changes were justified will like them. It's just how it goes. Of course, the changes done then weren't the end of the changes to come, but I have no idea when or if further changes are going to happen.
[/ QUOTE ]
I see your point...but there is no mistaking that the changes made were drastic changes.
I personally did not believe that the PvP system needed an overhaul. Maybe a few changes here and there but not what they did to it. -
Make your own SG...so then instead of asking someone to help you transfer influence you can ask someone to help you invite your alts to your SG.

Alright...that's my mistake.
I was always under the impression that the devs said it was a mistake because it was too easy to get a character to 50.
My apologies.
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope if you don't PL, and don't play every day in a team, but instead only play casually maybe in a team maybe solo it can take you a few years to reach level 50. Now if you work at it reaching the level cap isn't that hard, but you have to want to. With PLing being the easiest way to reach the level cap.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, that's what I always thought. I thought it was EATs that started the whole PLing phase of the game. -

So here is the new updated build, im currently running with. tried soloing Marauder last night, at about 15mins my end went dead and i called it a night. need to get my dps up.

Oh, and Vitality's idea of limiting AE to those with a level 50 character would actually hurt many altoholics out there. Personally, it took me bout three years to get my first level 50 character (and I still don't have my second one after 4 1/2 years). But I certainly tell you I knew how to use the train, where Crey's Folly was (or how to find it if I didn't already know), how to get my cape, how to run on a TF, etc. Making AE only unlockable with a level 50 would have locked me out well past my learning curve on the mechanics of the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
What I mean is as soon as you get a level 50 character you can access AE with any level character you make.
Make it the same way they did with EATs and VEATs.
The AE access wouldn't be limited to just that level 50 character.
[/ QUOTE ]
They know.
What they were saying is that people can go a long time before they get a single level 50 on their account.
Keeping them locked out of the AE until that point on all of their characters seems harsh.
Maybe until they get 50 levels across all characters?

That doesn't seem like it's fair or makes any sense. It took me 2 years to get a level 50 because I kept getting distracted with alts. And how would it make sense for new players who bought the i14 box that says "Architect Edition" to be unable to actually use the architect without leveling to 50 first?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't see as being any different then when Issue 3 came out. -

Thanks for the help guys, as i said earlier my experience with WP is very lacking. I'll give the 3rd build a try. Probably drop stealth for something a little more useful like maneuvers then?

Yeah, I have Maneuvers on my DM/WP.
Dropping stealth for it is perfect because you can slot it the same exact way. -
[ QUOTE ]
My personal idea, is to cap the amount of xp earned in ANY one mission (AE, TF, radio, whatever) to one level's worth. You still get inf, prestige and what not once you hit the xp cap. That way you have to play at least 50 missions in order to ding 50. This cuts into PL'ing across the board but doesn't stop it.
[/ QUOTE ]
While I don't agree with what you say I will defend to the death your right to say it. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'd like to see a max xp cap on AE. That is to say, you can only get 125k to 1 million xp from it. That would place you at levels 20 to 30 if you started in AE. After that your character caps out and cannot earn any more xp from AE.
This would fix the AE baby problem and stop total powerleveling in AE completely. You have to go out and actually find full missions and learn to play your character.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, but that wouldn't be fair to the people who have been playing this game for a long time and only do the AE missions to enjoy new content. -
[ QUOTE ]
I think after you hit about level 40 without leaving Atlas Park, your character should turn around and say "Come on, man. What are you doing? We're missing the whole game. There's more to do than Architect. Look, let me show you," and then start walking toward the Yellow Line station and take you on a tour of all the zones.
If you still opt to continue to 50, the character can get a restraining order placed on you and look for a new player. "Level 45 Scrapper LF owner. Only played in Atlas Park, but willing to try new things! Please adopt me!"
[/ QUOTE ]
But by level 40 you miss the best arc in the game...The Revenant Hero Project.
