Quote:That's the thing.Taking Fly as a travel power in no way locks you into using Hover in battle. A travel power just gets you to the fight, what really matters is how you tank when you get there.
Although I personally don't enjoy fighting while using Hover, and I wouldn't recommend it for sets with attacks that require being on the ground, you say yourself that it can work.
With maneuvers, I would always have the +defense but I wouldn't be able to get Fly.
With hover, I would only use it when fighting AVs (where footstomp is not needed) and I would be able to get Fly. -
Quote:What makes you assume that Tanks that take Fly can't Tank?I've seen a few tanks with flight. My usual first response is to laugh, then to shore up knowing there was going to be extra work for the rest of the team.
......
Once or twice though.. I was really surprised. I saw one guy who was so good at switching in and out of hover to use his crowd control powers, maneuver, etc... he made me want to try it myself.
I would suggest making a bind or a macro to easily turn hover on and off, which is what I usually do on any char I go the flight route on.
Personally, I prefer SJ.. but I think if you're diligent enough, you can swing flight. -
Has anyone taken flight because they wanted it for concept even though doing so gives up some defense?
Here is my problem...I want Flight as my travel power.
I would take Hover and Fly.
I would use Hover for the extra defense during AV fights only because I am unable to use Footstomp while hovering.
My other choice would be to replace Hover and Fly with Super Jump and Maneuvers.
Having maneuvers basically allows me to have the extra defense that Hover would have gave me on all the time.
Super Jump does go with the super strength concept but it falls short of being iconic compared to Flight.
What are your thoughts on this?
Is having fly worth losing the extra (on all the time) defense from maneuvers? -
So...have the devs said why this power is not a tier 1?
-
Could someone post their build or make a WP/SS build that has flight and soft-capped s/l defenses?
-
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned...
Last night I was doing Faultline missions and I was doing the missions where you have to save Fusionette.
In both missions, when I would enter the floor that she was on...as soon as I did her dialog came up...so as soon as I would enter the mission (the first time you save her) or exited the elevator to the floor that she is on (in the kurse mission) the dialog of her being excited to see me (the first mission) and the dialog of her being ashamed that she needed help again (in the kurse mission) would come up right away. -
My "speed" character is DM/SR.
With Sprint+Swift+Quickness+various run speed IO's I get 55mph run speed without needing a travel power.
As for primary...Dark Melee's quick punches make it the perfect fit. -
Quote:Claws/WP with endurance problems?My Claw/WP is very fun. I'm fond of autos and toggles, and WP doesn't seem to eat the end either. Slicing like a maniac does a little though. Just trade three like insp for blues repeatedly. He also shot to 18 solo and with a few sewers. He is one of my two AE free toons.
Is it safe to assume your doing it wrong?
Edit: I guess you are only level 18...but Claws is very end efficient. -
I slot it with Numina - Heal, Numina - Heal/End, Performance Shifter Chance for +End
-
I've had that happen to me for two reasons...
It drained the battery life before I could get the charger plugged back in.
I fixed that by always keeping my charger plugged in while playing.
My computer got too hot and shut down to prevent damage.
I fixed that by getting a cooling mat for my laptop. -
This is from paragon wiki:
Inspirations are single-use temporary boosts. There are several different inspiration types that provide various ability increases. Three inspirations of the same type can be combined into one inspiration of different type.
Powers have many aspects, such as damage caused, accuracy, and endurance cost. Enhancements permanently improve one or more of those aspects. For example, for a typical ranged blast power, Enhancements can make it hit more frequently, cause more damage, reach farther, cost less endurance to use, or have a faster rate of fire. An Enhancement's type and level both affect how much benefit it gives to a power. Once an Enhancement is assigned to a power, it cannot be moved to a different power, although it can have its level increased or be replaced or removed entirely.
Enhancements can be bought from contacts and stores. They are also "dropped" randomly by defeated (non-player) enemies and are provided as rewards for some missions.
Since your level 14...you can buy Dual Origin enhancements in either Skyway City or Steel Canyon at an origin store. So if your a Mutant you will go to the Mutant Store...if your Natural you will go to the Natural Store. -
It seems like your getting inspirations mixed up with enhancements.
If your new I suggest you create another character and run the tutorial before going to either Atlas Park or Galaxy City. -
Quote:Don't get the wrong idea...I'm not whining about this. I have played this game for almost 3 years now and I only use two characters...literally...I have a Tank and a Scrapper who have gone by the names of Vitality and Variant respectively ever since I created them. I recently transferred my scrapper to the Virtue server to join a SG.IMO all of you people whining that you can't get your "special name" are just too lazy to put any effort into coming up with something. What's worse are the people who just throw L33t speak, asterisks and other chaos into their names in order to (mis)spell what they want.
I'm simply just exhausting all my options on this matter. If I can't get the name that's fine...I just want to make sure that I can't get the name before using something else. -
-
Quote:Yeah someone does have it.Not necessarily...if the name was added to the off-limits list after you created the character on Justice, you wouldn't lose the name on Justice (until/unless someone petitioned you), but you'd be prevented from using it later on other servers.
Edit: but I see no reason why that name would be off-limits...someone probably does have it.
When you do the check name it will tell you if the name is being used or if its forbidden. -

For either Thunder kick or Storm kick I suggest the Brawl animation.
All three of those attacks have a .83s animation time so that shouldnt be a problem.
Some people might not like re-using the brawl animation in powersets but it's already being used in Dark Melee by Shadow Punch.
I think it would be a perfect one two punch combination using the gut punch animation (from the comic con videos) and the brawl animation.
Keep the gut punch for thunder kick since it has a chance to disorient and use the brawl animation for storm since its a higher damaging attack (the concept being a punch to the face hurts more than a punch to the gut).
I think brawl is one of the best looking attacks if your going for a "brawler" type character.
So I suggest using the brawl animation for an alternate animation for Storm Kick in Martial Arts. -
Quote:Well you might not be using him right, but you are expecting "too much" compared to a Kat/Regen.Erm...maybe its just me...but my MA/Regen scrapper is nothing compared to my katana/regen...I find MA is far slower. Its more powerful per attack but i don't find that it outweighs the drop in speed from Katana. Can I ask what your attack chains are? Maybe I'm just haven't found the right chain...
I also find that the animations are too long for me to hit my heals in time, not a problem I've had with my other kat/regen...
But obviously you guys are finding different. Am I expecting too much compared to kat/regen, or do you think I'm not using him right? I haven't been able to get all the acolades for him yet, so he doesn't have all the base regen/recovery boosts my kat/regen has, but I never found a huge difference between my kat/regen having them and not having them...
Divine Avalanche adds an amazing amount of survivability to a /regen scrapper. -
Here you go Myramani...so you don't have to pull out a dictionary
MA = Martial Arts
PvP = Player vs Player
WP = Willpower
TK = Thunder Kick
EC = Eagle's Claw
RttC = Rise to the Challenge -
There is a name I want to use on the Virtue server that is already being used.
I was informed that I can find out who is using that name in-game by typing /getglobalname.
I used that and nothing came up.
I was told that if nothing came up the name is being used by an account that was made before Globals came out and that account is no longer active.
Is there anyway for me to get this name? -
WP/SS is a powerhouse...in my opinion.

I was able to remove the one on file with no problems...but now there is no option to add another card.
What do I do to add another card?
