Quote:That was the first time Aett posted on this matter.I heard you the first time dude. No need to be rude. I was simply taking the advice of someone else who suggested that I post the question in this section.
You already posted in the Player Questions forum and got the same/correct answer.
You re-post in the correct forum and get another correct answer.
To show that you appreciate the help...you call them rude?
What the hell? -
Quote:The Invuln Scrapper will always be 25% worse, regarding the resistance and defensive numbers, than the Invuln Tank...assuming they are built the same way.How possible is it, with set bonuses and such to make an invul. scrapper reach tanker level resistance and, if it is possible, roughly how expensive would it be to do so ( in know the market fluctuates...just askign for a rough estimate)
However, this changes when the Scrapper and Tanker reach the resistance and defensive caps.
Tanks resistance caps out at 90% compared to the Scrappers 75% resistance cap...making the Scrapper 16.6% worse than the Tank.
They can be equal, in terms of defense, if their defense is at the soft-cap (45%)...although it is extremely easier for a Tank to reach those numbers.
The actual answer to your question: No, a scrapper cannot reach tanker level resistance. -

Thanks for the replies...sorry for posting another GR question.

Quote:I was using the train as an example.- Pocket D, with or without teleporter.
- Base teleporters (yours or a group leader's.)
- Mission teleporter
- Ouroboros
- Wentworths/Black Market teleporter (Free just for standing around!)
- Zone to zone tunnels
- Arachnos fliers (villainside only, obviously)
So where's this "have to take the train" again?
Obviously you don't "have" to take the train.
The point I was trying to get at was that...at some points you are forced to not fly to that location.
Example...why do I have to take a ferry to an island when I can fly?
Why do I have to take the train to Croatoa when I can fly? -
I was reading about super strength on paragonwiki.com and came across this...
"A quick jab that deals minor damage, but has a chance of Disorienting the target, especially if coupled with other attacks. Damage: Minor, Recharge: Very Fast"
What does it mean, "especially if coupled with other attacks"? -
I hate the war walls.
I hate making a character that can fly...take the damn train to get places.
I suggest creating more tunnels for access to all the zones without needing to take the train. -
Quote:Yeah I understand that it's so far away.I've heard that we will keep everything when we switch--but it doesn't really matter considering how far away GR is, and how undecided everything currently is.
I just don't want to put all my influence/infamy into this character if I will not be able to switch him. -
I know people are getting sick and tired of these threads but I have/need to know this answer.
I'm specifically making a character for Going Rogue.
I made a Brute...started playing redside just to see how the Brute AT felt...my character is now very high in level.
QUESTION: When Going Rogue comes out...will I be able to switch my already level 50 Brute over to blueside...or will I have to create a brand new character for Going Rogue?
I ask this because I plan to IO this character out...and we all know how much that costs.
If I can switch over an already level 50 Brute then I will start IO'ing him out right now.
If I cannot switch over at level 50 then I will just use generic IO's and then recreate the character when Going Rogue goes live.
I understand that no one may even have an answer for me but I had to ask. -
Quote:Your joking, right? You know, I realize that English is likely not your first language, since by appearances you have no idea what some common terms mean, so I would suggest you step away from this thread before people mistake you for a pvp'er.
Also, you may be interested in learning about a new and evidently alien concept for you, available at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic
It's good reading. You learn neat things like just because you say something, it doesn't make it true. Especially when things that are said as idiotic as the things you've been saying. -
I suggest they add new items and decorations to create an inside of a house.

Quote:152% Global Recharge?Don't forget Gloom in your attack chain (and Dark Obliteration for AoE).
As for survivability, you probably could cap to S/L and either E/N or F/C, but I don't really think it'd be worthwhile. Just having Fault, Rise to the Challenge, Indomitable Will and enough recovery to maintain them is enough survival for 99.99% of the encounters in the game. If you're really worried, pick up Darkest Night since you'll be taking Gloom for DPS anyway.
My SM/WP has Tough and Weave, and a focus on recharge (roughly 152% global with at least 60% in every attack). With roughly 18% S/L defense, upper 20s for E/N/F/C, and without DN, I rarely ever even have to hit Strength of Will: usually it's more for endurance recovery than anything else. If your hit points drop to half, hit Fault and watch them shoot back up.
You adding in Hastens +recharge on that, right? -
Quote:No matter what...your role playing as a character in the fictional Paragon City universe. If you want to use a narrow definition of roleplay that would mean playing Pong means you're roleplaying as a paddle, okay.
But I still disagree, as there's a vast difference between me holding an in-character conversation with someone in Pocket D, and me standing around giving someone advice on how to respec their toon through tells.
I'm not roleplaying or pretending to be anyone but me when I'm talking through tells. My avatar is just my vessel, which I am driving. Like a car. I'm not roleplaying a car when I go to the store. Unless I go "vroom vroom!"
You can't deny nor disprove that fact.
No matter how much you type in your chatbox about real life, you are still role-playing that character in the fictional Paragon City universe.
Whether it's extremely light RP or extremely heavy RP...if your are playing this game, you are role-playing your character. -
Quote:You may be able to take away the role playing dialog but you can never take away the role playing avatar(your character) or the role playing world (paragon city or RI).We all must be Deadpool with the frequency at which we break the 4th wall while "roleplaying our character."
Basically put...whenever you are playing this game, you are never not role-playing. -
Quote:Actually (s)he is correct.Uhm. No. Sorry, but you're incorrect.
Logging into an MMO doesn't mean you're RP'ing. Does playing Quake make you RP Sarge? Does playing Metroid make you RP Samus? When you play Donkey Kong, do you RP Mario? ('ats-a SPICY meatball!)
Yes, you're playing the game. But, by default, CoX is really more meta-game by default. You have to actually to go out of your way to role-play. Otherwise, you're doing what every game makes you do. Knock down enemies the computer throws at you.
Incorrect. Every server allows you to RP. But RP is, by no means, inherent.
Over-emphasis doesn't make your point any more valid. You have a point, about discrimination against any given play style. But your conclusion that everyone is an RP'er isn't correct.
Have you ever thought that he was being facetious? C'mon, this IS PK we're talking about here. You've never seen lolPVP either?
I posit that you've just allowed yourself to be trolled and have over-reacted in a SPECTACULAR fashion. Congrats!
Whenever you play this game...no matter the context...you are role-playing your character. -
Quote:I'm guessing you have very little experience with good Tanks.I have 2 defender that break that "healer" mold.
My Storm/Elec def can out tank most tanks thru chaos and debuffs. It work well to. So far I've tanked most AVs, often pissing off real tanks because I do a better job than some. Doesnt mean I'm a real tank, but for about 95% of the game I can.
My Arch/TA def is just an offensive beast. I can do about blaster lvl damage on every group. It really breaks mold for defender because you can solo well with it, and team very well.
The fact is I didnt go seeking for these builds to play like that. IMO these were designed like that to break that thought that support is healorz and can't do anything else. This is one of the reasons I've stuck with this game for 5 1/2 years now. I can't wait to see what on the horizon.
To say your Storm/Elec can out Tank MOST Tanks is a very ignorant and conceited thing to say...and I as a Tank take offense to that.
Sure...go ahead and say you can "Tank" when needed but do not outright state that you are better than most Tanks at doing what Tanks are made to do. -
Quote:You say that because you know how everyone feels and thinks?Yes it is. Well, that and stubbornness and a sense of false entitlement.
No matter how great of a concept I come up with, the name has to fit the character and concept prefectly or I scrap that character.
I cannot play a character if I do not have a good name.
You can call it stubbornness but I just will not play a character with a cheaply thought up name...I call it keeping a high standard.
Now I don't "whine and complain" about not getting the name I want...I just create that character on a server that has that name available.
I don't believe it's a false sense of entitlement...it's just the fact of that name fits perfectly for my character.
Character names is the bottom line for my characters...if the name is cheap or if it doesn't fit...I will not play that character.
That is the main reason why I have only played two different characters for 2+ years now. -
Does it really matter if Brutes will decrease the Tanker and Scrapper population?
-
First thought...
If you have a girlfriend why would you want to play a MMO all the time? -
Right...but I'm guessing that is why they have been able to have the name for so long.
-

-
It's already been stated by the devs that Brutes are the Scrappers counterpart. Masterminds are the Tankers counterpart.
-
Think of it like this...DM/WP should be more survivable than your Fire/WP because of the tohit debuffs and Siphon Life.
