Quote:Wait...what?Of those two combos, dm/inv has more synergy.
At the top end, inv is tougher than wp (a little).
Willpower has impressive self-heals and end management. DM has impressive self heals and end management. Together, they're a bit overkill. IE, DM doesn't make WP seem that much better.
Inv lacks a self heal and end management, but is very, very tough. Dm has impressive self-heals and end management.
Oh, see there, how those go together?DM adds a lot that inv doesn't have much of.
I'd say, DM/inv, as long as you understand you're very single target oriented.
Willpower lacks a self heal.
Invulnerability has Dull Pain. -
Quote:You make an extremely good point with your LOST reference.Actually, you can want a show to end even when you love it. I loved Lost. I'll consider it the best show ever made. But to be the best show, it was right for it to come to an end. I wanted that end to be achieved because I knew the show needed it to stay as good as it was. Eventually, a show wear's out its welcome. Lives past its prime. Becomes a shell of its former self. When that happens, it's time to end.
Generalizations should be avoided. This is just from a posting point of view. Don't worry about calling someone out, because you need to be able to point to what you're talking about. It's not like you're specifically attacking that person. Ok, maybe sometimes you are, but it's ok. If they posted it on the internet for everyone to read, then they've opened themselves up to criticism. When I post an argument, I know there's a chance Durakken is going to come in and make some ridiculous argument against it using hyperbolic statements of what I said and creating straw man arguments. It doesn't stop me from posting though. Don't let it stop you either.
It's just better for your arguments when you avoid generalizations.
However, Smallville has/had the potential to keep going.
In the movie, it took him 12 years to fully develop his powers. That's 12 years after the age of 18? if I remember correctly. -
Quote:I agree. Ratings can be attributed to many things other than the shows quality.Grab onto the flawed analogy all you want, I'll admit it's only half useful. But my reasons for wanting to watch the show are my own. Because the quality and status quo have become complacent doesn't mean I won't still hold it to the same standards as I did before. Like I said, it still produces a couple of gems a season, and I'd like to see it end well. In the meantime, if they decide to produce content that's insulting to the audience's intelligence, then yeah, I'll point it out.
You may see it as pointless to "hate" on a show that I could just stop watching, but it's no more pointless than defending it's quality with no other argument other than "well, the ratings are good." To me, it's pointless to watch a show if you can't hold it to any standards of quality.
I only pay attention to ratings for one thing and one thing only...high ratings means the show will, probably, be renewed. -

Quote:You're right...it's my fault to assume that someone, who wants a show to no longer air, hates it.Well I think it's some fallacy or another (I don't know which, I don't memorize them because that seems like the sort of thing trolls do) to take it a bit further than anyone else who is criticizing the show by assuming they hate it.
They can disagree with what's being done without hating the show or the characters. Hell, during this past season of True Blood you saw folks on these boards talking about how much they didn't like what they did with Jason. So, regardless of how much you like the show, you'll always have the right to criticize it so long as you know what you're talking about, and it just wouldn't be right if anyone who had an issue with the show stopped watching. They obviously put the show out there to get to as many folks as possible, so if some of them tune in and don't like what they see, they can say as much. -
Quote:Haha no...someone stated that they wish the show would just end.Er, did someone say they wished the writers would die? o.O
Which makes no sense to me...because you can end the show yourself...just stop watching.
To come and hate on a show that you apparently watch and then say you wish it would just end...is absurd. -
Quote:So I understand you want to defend the show. I'll defend the first 4 seasons with you. I just can't excuse anything else sense then. I know, I could just stop watching it. But it still produces a gem once or twice a season. And I want to see it end well. I mean, you wouldn't stop caring for a loved one if they were an alcoholic who kept falling off the wagon on purpose, but you'd stop making excuses for them after a point.
So...would you keep calling them out and keep telling them how worthless they are and that you wish they would just die? -
Quote:Like I said...being someone who owns all the DvDs...I understand there is a lot of things wrong with the show.So much this. Getting into any kind of debate with him is pointless. Not because he can argue well, but because he ignores all the points you make and claims you made none, then backs it with, "It makes sense to me, so me am win!" Also, every comment drips with the air of know-it-allness (despite the clarity of the opposite). I'd point to another thread of his to explain what I mean, but it would probably come across as a mean-spirited personal attack, even though that wouldn't be the intent.
For those defending the show, if it helps, I'd like to be able to defend it too. For four seasons, it was really good. If it could be even half as good as those four seasons, then I'd be able to agree with you. Back then, even though the pattern was "freak of the week" almost every week, you still got great character development. Things stayed consistent in the characters (for the most part).
So I understand you want to defend the show.
However, I still find those hating on the show to be more pointless than those who defend it...because if you hate it...why are you watching it? -
Quote:Not necessarily a personal shot...it's more of a general statement...I would say that to anyone who says it's a must take power. Just trying to inform you.I'm of course speaking from the standpoint of having taken Dark Armor. I find Touch of Fear greatly improves my survivability. Having never paired it with Willpower I decided to just give the advice I had on it. I personally love the power.
No need to take a personal shot at me. Thanks.
I apologize if I offended you. -
Quote:Calling Touch of Fear a "must-take" power lowers your credibility from the get go.Touch of Fear is a must-take power. I don't care if it doesn't do damage.
11.25% ToHit Debuff unenhanced. 'Nuff said. Put Siphon Insight in it, including the Chance for +ToHit.
Frankenslot Siphon Life with Damage, Accuracy, Recharge, and Healing. As much as you can afford/possibly stick in it.
Don't put Immobilize in Midnight Grasp.
Depending on how well your character manages Endurance, you may or may not need Dark Consumption. It's a decent AoE, but it's made to refill your endurance bar. Watch your blue and take it if you need it.
I have more info on Dark Melee in the guide linked in my sig.
See what Carnifax pointed out. -
Quote:Didn't know you could look at the list...nice.I don't see Variant in use: Members List

This is crazy.
My comment was about the person who clearly did not fully watch the show.
The show has its flaws...and people point them out all the time.
That's why I find it ridiculous to make things up about the show to hate on.
There is so much to hate on without the need to make things up. -
Quote:Alright...well...what if I only want it changed to one thing?pretty sure i read somewhere that they like to have a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice when you want to change your forum name. Means if they can't do 1st they can use the 2nd and so on.
*EDIT* Found it

If Variant is not available...I would rather just stick with Vitality. -
Quote:No...not everyone...just the one.I really hope you're not suggesting that those who were less than satisfied with the season premiere didn't actually watch it.
I understand the show has a lot that people can hate on...but hating on things, without fully watching it, is ridiculous. -
Quote:Thankfully...someone who actually watches the show and doesn't just hate.Me too.
She's knows because of Fates Helmet. It may also be *why* she gives herself up... Don't let her look while being traded look fool you, she knows exactly what she's doing.
Didn't he actually say "I think I flew"? I'm pretty sure this will be the lead up to Clark learning how to fly. He knows he can, but because of the adrenaline he doesn't know/remember how.
This I completely agree with. That CGI was horrible. I haven't even finished getting my BA and have very little experience with 3D technology... and I'm pretty sure I could do better. -

So how long till I find out if I can get it changed or not?

Quote:She told him to run when she was fighting the older Lex.Seriously. I mean, they ended with him without powers, stabbed with a kryptonite knife, and falling off a building, and opened pretty much with him waking up and getting better. Really? ... Really? Thats the best you've got? All those heroes on active patrol and looking for the Kandorians, and not one could have caught him, and eliminated the need to explain away the splatter? The splatter they just decided to not have anyway.
Ditto on the stuff with Jor-El, and evil Lex. I just wasn't feeling that convo at all. And how the hell did Tess save Little Lex, when she was handcuffed to a thingie, and Evil Lex was burning the place down while talking about how he could be the only Lex? -
