Is anyone still reading this?
I order the paperback volumes so I don't get to read each issue as it comes out. -
Quote:I think the "glowing bio-organic" look is the best way to differentiate alien tech from our tech. While I don't hold that a contemporary mainstream version of Green Lantern ought to slavishly replicate a Silver Age comic's art direction, the "glowing bio-organic" look has become pretty clichéed in science fiction movies and TV these days.
We have the sleek steel looking tech.
The "bio-organic" look is very alien to the tech we have now and I think it's a good way to differentiate the two.
But I also understand that everyone has their own opinions...this is only mine. -
Quote:Wait...you can read the language? Why do most alien races technology we see in films today come covered with thier writtings all over the piece of tech? I mean look at the lantern... /\./\/\\\\\///\\]]][[{/}}}\/\/\\// whats that a warning sign? Come on we(humans) are less advanced than them and yet we usually only place one or two warning labels on our dangerous gear. Biohazard, Nuclear, beware of dog and break glass in case of emergency are usually only tatoo'd once per side at most...so what gives?

Variant.
Was thinking of names for a character...came up with Variant.
Was going to be the name of my WP/SS Tank but I liked the name so much that I thought of a backstory for the name Variant.
That led to Project: Variation. The process to surgically implant metahuman DNA into an individual giving that subject control over various powers.
Went with a DM/Regen scrapper with concealment for invisibility and phasing...flight...body mastery for laser beam eyes and energy projectiong.
Everything came together perfectly and Variant is now the only reason I play CoH. -
I'm also looking to join an active SG with this character.

I'm back to playing this game after a long hiatus and I'm wondering if there are good channels to join for team play at any level?

Quote:Using Shadow Punch, Smite, Sands of Mu and Brawl.I'm curious as to what's causing this. What powersets are we talking about here?
I ask because with the use of the tier1 and 2 attacks with brawl and the origin power, you should not be waiting much, if at all, with just about anything out there.
Honestly, I understand it's my fault for selecting only two powers...but I was just coming up with ideas.
I completely forgot that you could slot IO's in the power. -
Alright...either CoX is losing subs or NOF is just not as good as people thought it was going to be?
Which is it?
I've been expecting to read threads for this show but no one has posted any.
With all the talk about how good it is I figured I could come here to read up on it. -
Maybe they should change it so that you can't slot it with IO's?
Even with the no endurance cost...I still find myself just waiting to attack. -
I always take Body Mastery...whether it's for my DM/SR or my DM/Regen.
-
I want to ask the community...would there be potentially bad side effects to removing the recharge of Brawl?

Quote:Nice...thanks.Castle made a clarification (link).
For a minute there I thought I had re-subbed for no reason. -
"The Fitness power pool is now an inherent power pool available to all new and existing characters starting from Level 1. Players can freely choose between any or all of the Fitness powers for available character power slots. These powers can be slotted and will accept the appropriate Enhancements. "
"Players can freely choose between any or all of the Fitness powers for available character power slots."
What does that exactly mean? -
In my opinion...it's Regen's tradeoff.
It can be unkillable...but it takes into account, so many things.
Human reaction speed
recharge
slows
lag -
Sorry...I figured since you cared so much to post about it...I figured you might have wanted to see where they referenced it.

Quote:Rewatch the episode.I had forgotten that we saw Cat Grant on the show last season. I can only assume this is a different Cat Grant or she wouldn't have needed to introduce herself to Clark and there surely would have been some discussion as to what had happened to her television show.

Quote:They were talking about superfights in general on heroes...not just peter vs sylar...which makes their point untrue.Er, but folks keep pointing to how Peter and Sylar kept getting into off-camera fights, and that's true.
They also bring up how those who embraced their abilities were limited, thrown away, or poorly written, and that's true.
Who's making things up?
"They also bring up how those who embraced their abilities were limited, thrown away, or poorly written, and that's true."
They're basing this point on precognitive notions that NOF will differ from this. Again, bringing home my point that it's ridiculous to compare after one episode. -
Quote:Not what's being said in this thread. You say "Heroes hate" as if folks who stuck with the show season after season didn't have reason to hate the show after all the times they'd been let down. It's not blind, ignorant hate. It's absolutely justified.
Listen...I'm not saying Heroes is the best show at all.
All I'm saying is that...it's absurd to say that this is what you wanted heroes to be after only one episode. It's ridiculous to exaggerate and make things up about a show in order to make another show look better. -
Quote:After one episode?Eh, I think it's understandable after trudging along with a show that kept on disappointing.
I mean if after Smallville was over they premiered a new show about Superman that had good characterization, respectable metahuman fights, smart characters, and good dialogue I wouldn't be surprised if people immediately said it was superior.
It just seems like Heroes hate to me...and it wasn't even justified. -
-
Quote:Alright...then how does he/she know that NOF isn't going to do that?Well the folks who did embrace their abilities on Heroes were neutered in some way or another in the show, which is what I think he alluded to when he said the show seemed to have something against characters who liked having powers.
My point is that it is ridiculous to compare this show to Heroes after only one episode.
