Quote:I always believed they should let the player decide if a costume piece looks good. The answer is erratically. If you look at some belts with side items (the policeman's belt is a good example) they will clip with some of the larger leg options.

If it clips but they give it to us, then most of the people are happy. They can use it with pieces that fit.

If it clips and they don't give it to us, no one is happy.

Bare in mind I'm all for keeping some items NPC unique, if that's what they want. Otherwise I find the clipping debate quite silly. More options are good, not bad.
-
Quote:I know I made this seem like it was directed at -you-, but in fact I meant for it to be toward those who do not have a search comment complaining that I asked them if they may need another. If you do in fact have the search comment up then I would never ask you in the first place. You didn't read what I wrote in my first post, did you? I guess you didn't. No, instead you just assumed.

It -would- be rude to ask someone who clearly has a 'I do not want to team with those I do not know' sign up. Otherwise it's just me asking a person playing like I am, with random strangers.

Again, if you have the comment up I won't be asking you.Quote:My table always has a sign, if it's visible (I basically live on /hidesearch because of this issue.) I always make sure that my search comment shows up in search when I set it (I always do a zone search after setting my comment, and if it doesn't set, then I re-attempt until it is visible), because otherwise I cannot complain about people not reading my search comment. My search comment, if I am not hiding, always says, "No team unless I know you." Always.

I'm not sure if we are on the same page here... I am talking about a 'reverse invite', for lack of a better word. I'm not going to ask someone who is solo unless I am forming a team, unless of course, I guess I'm looking to duo, in which case I'd ask if they'd like a partner to help them with some missions (Important: Unless they have a comment up saying they do not want too.)Quote:The people with "talk to me" signs are the bright names on the list (solo), not the people dimmed on the team list (on teams, looking for more or not doesn't matter).

The search window doesn't state who is a leader, more than not I'm going to hit a random team member instead of the leader. A simple redirect to the leader is a very nice gesture, but I really don't expect it. To be honest if you (not -you-, this would never be -you- because of your comment) are offended by my asking just ignore me, tell me no thanks, or cuss me out, I really don't care, words are words to me.

I just would like a team, and I'll make a team, I just don't like doing so. Similar to how you don't like teaming with strangers. We all have our likes and dislikes, yours is no better than mine.

You're right, I probably shouldn't have continued with that example. I was trying to give you an idea of how it might be using your own example. (I -think- this was yours, forgive me if it's not.)Quote:YOU'RE the one that asked (and I am quoting you here) "Would you really find it rude if I asked if I could sit and chat with you at McDonalds?" So why are you then turning around and saying, in a sense, that you find it rude after you scoff at me, and others, for finding it rude?

Sorry, again this wasn't directed entirely at you, you've already stated it you find it annoying.Quote:I *do*. I have said *in this thread* that I do. YOU are assuming that I *don't*.

For the record, I'm not saying it is dumb for you to find this offensive or annoying, just that we play in very different ways. Sometimes the way I play is going to go against the way you play. I do my best to make sure you never have to talk to me if you don't want too. But for those without search comments saying so, it's hard to do. (Not saying you don't.)
-
Quote:If they have a search comment stating that they want to keep the team small then I will not ask. I will always take into consideration the search comment. You do if there's a search comment. I hope you read and respect search comments.

Except in this case your table has no sign (No search comment). None of the tables have signs except a few that say they wish to be alone, in which case I don't bother to ask because I already know the answer and do not wish to 'bother' them.Quote:Yes. There are plenty of empty tables and there are some people sitting alone with signs that say "talk to me". Although I would find it far more rude, not to mention ridiculous, to come to my home as a stranger and ask to crash on my couch. (Sorry, Lemur.)

Most people do not put 'looking for more members' as a search comment, so the amount of "talk to me" signs are very minimal. This is a bad example from the start because in our culture (or mine anyway) we don't ask to sit and talk with random people at McDonalds because the point is to eat, no socialize.

But in a game where the point (to most) is to team and interact with others playing the game, it should not be unreasonable to get a tell asking if you would like another. Does it bother you to get tells? Go on hide or put in your search comment that you do not want to team with anyone or that you do not wish to answer such tells.

To assume that you do not wish to team with strangers in a game designed around being able to team with strangers is silly. Simply state that you don't wish too and I can pass over you. No problem, my intent was not to bother you, be rude to you, slow down your team, or any other crazy idea. My intent was to play the game.
-
I always find a team this way and I ask very politely. I even say what level I am and what my primary and secondary is. Yet I do get some very rude tells back which seem to mirror what some people think in this thread.

I am in no way inviting myself to your team. I'm asking if you have a spot and if you would like another to join you. I am not aware that you wish to keep the team small or that you would like just team with your friends, in which case I would have to ask how you got your friends in the first place if you only ever team with people you know. (No, I would not -actually- ask that.)

If you don't want me there, say so, or don't respond at all. I don't mind if you don't want me, nor do I mind if you don't answer at all. Just please don't assume I'm trying to purposefully annoy you and intrude on your team. I can't read your mind.

There are also some very bad examples going around. Would you really find it rude if I asked if I could sit and chat with you at McDonalds? Not in a creepy way, just in a "No other table will have me and I don't feel like eating alone, do you mind if I sit with you (guys) and talk, or we could just eat and not talk, I just enjoy the company." Would you really sit there and ignore me and tell me "No, you are being rude, I don't want anyone eating with me, you should have known that."

Asking to stay in someone's home is a very bad example as it goes from being a public area to being a private area. Public areas (MMO) have public interactions.

Then again I'm a pretty social person who enjoys the company of others and meeting new people who could be my potential new best friend. If I only teamed with people I knew and enjoyed, how would I have found anyone to begin with?
-
Does anyone know if Bloody Bay, Sirens Call, or Warburg drop PvP IOs. Or level 50 PvP IOs for that matter, if both characters were 50? Or 49... etc.

Not like bloody bay gets much action anyway, but it'd be nice to know. Thanks.
-
Oh! That is a great idea! Do we get a month free for inviting a friend back? If so then I could break even.

I think I'll try that. Thanks.
-
So I'm starting a new toon, and I have the perfect name for her. My only problem is the name is taken, by myself.

The toon I wish to delete in order to take the name is on my second account, which has been inactive for about a year.

So my question is this: Is it possible for me to somehow get in contact with the Devs or a GM and have them delete my toon without having to resubscribe?

I realize there is the whole "How do we know that's really your second account?" issue, and I'm not sure how I would prove it to them other than the fact that I know my username and password.

If not, guess I might as well resub.
-
	[ QUOTE ]
 doing it anyways

Whoa... You're going to need a flame resistant suit for the incoming flames...
-
Okay awesome, so it'll fit the whole screen?

So I guess I'll go for widescreen then. Thanks guys.
-
I am thinking about buying a new monitor, and the widescreen one's have caught my eye.

I'm looking at a 19" widescreen monitor, but then I think "Does CoH even have a widescreen format, or resolution or whatever it is, mode?"

Does anyone know? Because I would hate to buy this monitor and my favorite game doesn't format correctly to the size. Thanks.
-
Wow, this sounds really awesome, and just the challenge I've been looking for.

I'm up for making a toon for the steamroll team. Just need more info and a suggestion on what powerset you might need and I'm good to go!
-
Oooh, I like this idea. Vinique would fit in perfectly.

I'll send you an ingame tell soon.
-
Widows arn't doing so hot in PvP right now, but if you're going to be PvPing, then yes, I would take them.
-
I guess that is true that no matter what change happens, someone will always be upset about it.

I think the best solution would be to implement something that asks you whether you want aa specific aura to show or not. Like a yes/no type thing in the enhancement window.

Eh, I don't know. They'll probably never take the time to do it.
-
This has probably been suggested many times, but I would really love for them to tone down the bright yellow glow your hands get when you use hasten.

I'm not sure why our hands should be glowing when we use it, it just gets in the way. My main is a Night Widow, and when I use hasten I can't even see my claws... I'm sure Claws/* scrappers and stalkers are just as upset.

Really, I don't see any need for that huge glow, beside letting others know that you have hasten activated. All it does is get in the way of my toon half the time.
-
Wow, thank you, that is awesome advise. I guess I did go a bit crazy with my defence, think I have around 60-70 which is a bit overkill.

I think I will switch swift with health and give it the procs, like you said. I know how end intensive widows can be. Just hope I can afford them.
-
So my SoA has been a fort for the longest time, and I finally decided to start IOing out her second build, which is a Night Widow. Tell me what you think. I appreciate any and all help. And money is not that big an issue, this looks like it'd be in my range.

	Name: Fashion Apocalypse
 ID: 14840
 Morality: Neutral
 Creator: @Sinique
 Genre: Comedy/Drama
Length: 3 missions, 1 EB at end
 Time: 15-30 minutes

A series of hilarious missions starting with breaking a dumb platinum blonde out of jail.

Disclaimer: The arc does actually go somewhere, so don't think it's a complete joke, heh. I'm currently working on a sequel that has a more serious tone.

I would love any feedback, be it mobs are to strong all the way to I spelled something wrong. Thanks.

Old pvp was a joke. It was great for stalkers and the veats, and everyone else hated having toggles dropped. The old darth noobians and cheez sithians liked it...since their precious star wars galaxies got destroyed. Also the old 40' range on impale was gay. Mez length was real gay. Unresistable assassin strike was gay. Blasters unresistable damage was gay. All defense sets were useless.
