eh, trashing indie comic labels after picking them up is usually Marvel's thing. As is trying to kill them off once they aren't needed. OTOH, DC does have a good history of integrating purchased universes into the DCU. some titles won't work out so well, others will fit fine with a few changes.

So sick of that overhyped and overused character.

Now look out! The X-men in ish 4 must face the fury of.....Vampireine!
sounds like a perfect story arc...for Deadpool!
  3. Cyberpunk Joe? it's only 2 issues, i might pick it up. IDW's been doing good things with the Joe franchise thus far, so im willing to give this a shot. Artwork looks wonky though.
  4. Definitely digging that Chuck is going to be back on tonight. House is too, but it's coming on at the same time. (Dammit FOX! ) Id probably watch Castle, but i still haven't seen more than one or two episodes of season 2 yet. gonna get caught up with that once i grab the DVDs and then catch up with the rest online.

skipping the Event. I have no desire to watch another conspiracy show where something weird happened, and we get a crapload of big questions, and an entire season's worth of no or ****** answers.

  7. as has already been pointed out, yes, both series are indeed worth reading through. 52 especially since if you're not fond of one particular plot thread, there's a few others that should keep you entertained. the only recommendation i have in regards to Infinite Crisis is that there were a few tie-in miniseries beforehand, and i at least recommend Villains United and Day of Vengeance. Omac Project was alright and ties in with Batman a bit, and Rann Thanagar was alright, but not great.

if you havent read the other Crisis book beforehand, i would definitely say grab Crisis on Infinite Earths. Zero Hour you can take it or leave it, but i've always liked it. It was supposed to clean up the holes after the Crisis... supposed to.

Identity Crisis is crap. It's a terrible mystery played more for shock value than anything else and took an older concept and turned an entire group of Justice Leaguers into *******. Poor setup, worse execution, about the only thing i can say that it does have going for it is that it DOES have decent artwork. But that's about it.

and when you get up to it, Countdown and Final Crisis are even worse.

He liked the characters and how they grew.
they're not exactly rebooting things over and over. one would assume a reboot would be something like the Ultimate titles, or the 1st Crisis for DC. this is really more of a relaunch of an old title with a new team. (so me saying the last H4H reboot was a misnomer, it was a relaunch as well) the problem isn't with rebooting characters, it's in trying to do new things that are just gorram horrible, and worse is the knowledge that if something doesnt work out that it's essentially going to return to the previous status quo. there are few changes i can think off the top of my head that have lasted more than a few years lately.

(of course, atm, i say this knowing im looking forward to the upcoming Superman:Earth One GN)

yea it was from a comic the covered the initial creation of Voltron, and the character pictured above was the inspiration for the look of the armored warrior.

also, after taking another look at the concept art, i think we need us a giant water bottle. i think one of them lions is using the statue of liberty as a scratching post!
  10. coming in i20... puppies and inclement weather. you were warned!
  11. i dunno, that looks like a lot of groups I've seen play D&D.

"Maybe we can talk her into not fighting us. What's that called?"

    "Blackmail?"
  12. 1)levels of Lois hawtness are almost at appropriate levels.

2)obviously they want to infer she might put the helmet on, and knowing the show it won't be much more than just putting it on once and that's it. but it'd be nice (and pretty hawt) to see Chloe in a Doc Fate outfit.

oh yes, because why piss off a few at a time when you can torque the entire fanbase at once? if a reboot looks anything the Ultimate titles did, then at least on the bright side, i can spend what im spending on Marvel on video games.

yes, it might be praised if done by Alex Ross. But that's also because it would look better. I like the idea of making Voltron look a lot more fluid and less bulky than he did in the original cartoon series. ive also got no problems with them having the movie on earth so long as they actually mention that Voltron is an alien design. i kinda dig the look of the robeast, but im not impressed with the Voltron design, and the look of the lion is crap.

Nostalgia aside, Voltron should look like an armored knight. Like someone already said, more Iron Man and less Transformers.

what and pull Luke Cage out of all the Avengers books he's in? well, if they can overexpose Wolverine and Deadpool, sure, we can drop another uninteresting character into the mix. sorry, bitter fanboy is bitter. i actually kinda dug the Heroes for Hire reboot they most recently tried (except for Humbug...blech), of course the problem there is that just after the launch it got bogged down with all the crossover garbage instead of finding it's own legs as a series first.

ill wait and see depending on who else is in the title before deciding if im going to be picking this one up.

i think they reprinted both of the crossover for Batman/Punisher in the Crossover Classics trade. totally dug it, but my favorite story was the Cap/Batman cross, very cool.

But yeah, Punisher running through Gotham would just be another thug with a gun. Sure, he might be a really tough thug, but a thug nonetheless.
  20. wait, are they somehow saying that Teddy Roosevelt didn't roam the lands as a mercenary warrior, slaying monsters, bedding women, and eventually ruling his own kingdom?

    By Crom! BULLY!
