a new Hulk series could be pretty cool, i'd be down for seeing if they'd just end up following the original live action show, or do something else. but a Cloak & Dagger show? on ABC family? sure the premise could do well, but on ABC family?

Karl Urban?

they're going for a swerve and bringing him in as a reimagined Amanda Waller!

in JMS's defense, his explanation would've made sense as opposed to "It's magic, we don't have to explain it!"

Quote:obviously bureaucracy man must team up with litigator lad and 'the LoopHole' to form a committee to properly formulate the necessary counter to your counter. ill just get the paperwork together...You could but then you'd realize I could have the power to turn into any fictional character gaining all their abilities. I'd turn into Hermes Conrad and use my grade 34 bureaucrat super powers to fill out that paper work so fast that you'd think I forgot to sign and date the last page... until you realized that I did.
Thanks for the TV man!
HEY! where are you going! That wasn't notarized!!!! -

government's paid for with taxes, and it's going to get them somehow, may as well get some use out of the folks who would end up paying for this garbage.

while i dig the Ultimate comics, at this point my one gripe is to get him the hell out of high school. dammit, it's been almost 150 issues, Pete should at least be a senior by now gorram it!

you say that as if you think he's wrong. silly GG.
with me it would depend on what the powers were. how 'powerful' the powers are, the nature of them, so on and so forth. are we talking superman? or spidey? Iron Man, or Cyclops? it'd be cool to run around with Wolvie's healing factor, but that wouldn't particularly be a big help to me or anyone else really in regards to crime fighting or world conquering. but if i had Forge's tech powers, or Reed Richards' smarts... daaaaaaaaamn. -
The Doctor parks the TARDIS and gets out just in time to see a DeLorean crash into it.

Quote:well, both of love interests are going to be in the movie and while they might eventually go the 'death of gwen' route, i don't think they're going to jump into right out of the gate. i think having the two of them in the movie might be the crew mimicking the more recent Spectacular Spider-Man cartoon more than anything else. It's going to be Green Goblin, I mean, if they are so intent of having Gwen Stacy over MJ, you know they are going to go with the villain that led to her death.
(and as an aside, Gwen Stacy is once again sucking air in the USM comics. i forget the reason, but i didn't actually have a problem with it) -
Quote:right, like there was EVER any doubt that Bruce wasn't going to be coming back as Batman at some point. they didn't even have to slap that crappy, pointless epilogue into the end of Final Crisis and there was not ONE comic fan who thought Bruce wouldnt be back in under a couple of years. i like the idea of putting Grayson in the cowl since (much like Batman Beyond) it gets folks used to the idea that maybe, eventually Bruce Wayne might have to permanently hang up the cowl.Me too!
I am happy about Bruce Wayne returning, but I'm dissapointed that he won't be Batman once he returns. For years I waited on Steve Rogers to come back, and now he is, but he isn't Captain America. Steve Rogers IS Captain America and now I have to wait on Bucky to die to see it again. I was hoping that Bruce would resume being Batman and Dick would go back to being Nightwing. Being Nightwing is cool. Why would he want to stay Batman when he could be Nightwing? Oh well. I got sick of Morrison and stopped reading Batman after the RIP storyline so it doesn't really matter to me. Bruce Wayne IS Batman though.
as for Steve. i dig that he's taken over as the new Nick Fury and as much as i raged seeing him get offed after that idiotic Civil War, Brubaker did a damn good job setting Bucky up as Cap's replacement and he's been growing into the role pretty well. yeah, Steve will be Cap again eventually, but i hope it won't be too soon. even with the movie coming out, i hope they don't rush Steve back into being Cap. -
i agree that a JLA movie would be a far bigger project than the Avengers movie, but i don't see it as unfilmable. i just don't see WB ever making a commitment to doing the movies the way Marvel has. In Marvel's case, tying their films together the way they have has been something of a make it or break it sort of thing, and thus far, they've made it. Not to mention they have a direct hand in their movies. DC, not so much. Mebbe we'll see something down the line now that WB has set up a division specifically to work on DC Comics related projects, but i wouldnt put money on it.

I remember rumors coming out before Nemesis was released that Paramount was trying to pretty much kill the Trek franchise at the time. There'd been a management shift and the new folks in charge didn't like Trek, so im not surprised Nemesis ended up being the last one. It wasn't the weakest of the 4 TNG movies (Insurrection. it's not bad, but that doesn't mean it was all that good), but it just felt too much like Trek2, especially towards the end. The fight scenes between the ships at the end did look damn cool, but it was still weak.
Im not a big fan of the Abrahms' reboot, and im hoping the 2nd one is much better. The bright side is that the reboot is still better than the first and fifth Trek flicks, mostly. -

Quote:or when they wrote that part about him joining the FBI academy back in the '80s (which is when i remember the reference from) no one bothered to check what the ACTUAL entrance requirements were. because you can infer he might've served with a firm, but i don't see where it's ever been spelled out.Requirements for being an FBI Special Agent is 3 years experience in whatever area of entrance that got you in. There are a couple possibilities, such as he could have a CPA (accounting degree) and they could just view him being owner of Wayne Enterprises as experience.

i want to see what they do with it before really making a decision. could be good, could be more crap. frankly what i wish they'd do is not put Bruce back in the cowl so soon. i realize not putting him back in the cowl at all would be impossible, but i think it would be a more fun dynamic watching Bruce sit back and see what someone else does as the Bat before jumping back into action.

eh, there are enough people that like it. ratings wise it started out fairly strong, but it's fallen to less than a third of those ratings over the last couple seasons, less than even what Enterprise was getting during it's run. but then it's on the CW, so even a low end success is enough to keep the thing going. they don't need the numbers a show would need on a major network to keep a show going.

Quote:yeah, that's a talent/capability far beyond the capacity of the folks currently drafting Smallville. the worst part is it seems like they're borrowing way too much crap from Morrison's spin on the New Gods.I'm hoping we'll get to see some of the good New Gods like Scott Free, Barda, and Orion. Hell, I'm hoping we'll see some New Gods that aren't just being possessed by Darkseid or something. They could build it up to an Apokolips vs Justice League/New Gods free-for-all.

doesn't sound like anyone im familiar with and i read way too many titles during the '90s. doesn't sound like anybody from Dc or Marvel, mebbe one of the indies that popped up and died horrible, silent deaths?

Quote:where did you get that Bruce was part of a law firm? youve been digging through a lot of the older issues of late, but that hasn't been a part of his origin since at least a little before Zero Hour/Knightfall AFAIK. As for the FBI, he attended the academy, but never actually became a full field agent. He left because they were more focused on 'law' and less on 'justice'. (ugh, i need to dig that one up, that came from one of those anniversary issues of Detective Comics, but it's been a looooong time since i read it)Multiple universities, finally getting his degree in Law at Yale by the time he was 20
Worked in some law firm or something like that for 3 years
Joined the FBI at 23/24. Decided it wasn't right for him
Left on a year long journey
Returned and Became batman at 25 -
what about those of us who were considerably older than seven year old when the first SW came out? if we see it, can we be seven years old again too?
