Quote:...Despite owning them, I've not worked with the cyborg pieces all that much. One thing that did catch my attention was the "gloves" in the demo appeared to have mini-jets active as he flew. There was a blue-white glow with exhaust trail emitting from the palms of the character's hands. Is that indeed what happens with cyborg gloves, or is it something new or that I've misinterpreted?
That's the Fly VFX.
Absolutely not true, and I have no idea why you'd think that. -
Will all destroyable objects play hit FX from every power now?
-
...finally work 100%! Hit FX finally play for every power you use on them, and they even wobble when you hit them! When did this happen?!

Quote:Pff, I could fake that easily. Replace the Enrage icon with the Group Fly symbol, pop a bunch of reds, bam, 18-stacked Group Fly buff image.
Best evidence of all would be a shot from the tank himself or someone on his team, showing the buffs stacked on the guy in Granite. That's the best way to shut down skepticism. -
Why do people insist on denouncing my trays whenever I post a screenshot with the UI on?
*angry stomp*

Why would I get together a ton of kins to FAKE a screenshot of a Granite flying when it'd be easier to just get a bunch of anybody and have them grab Group Flight on their second build and get a REAL screenshot of a Granite flying?
-
If he was falling off City Hall, the glowing circles from his Hasten would be farther from his hands, plus if you look close you can see the blue trail from the flight effect dripping down like it does when you're stationary.
-
Group Fly's buff sticks to the player for a few seconds after they leave the area of effect, so maybe they had some extra players on standby and quickly swapped out teammates before the effect expired.

With Firefox you can just right click outside the text area and hit View Background Image.

Well, look at it this way. When you get the Wave Scrambler, you use it and you're like, "Oh, it's just Psychic Scream." But when you get the Rune of Warding, you use it and you're like, "Wow, I've never seen that before, how cool!" And that's exactly what the devs decided they wanted.

Quote:Well, I think what he meant was that when a temp power has a model made for it, they'll want it to remain unique. He said it when explaining why the skull-on-a-stick option was being removed from War Mace, because it was used for the Loa Bone temp power. Why should temp powers get to be more unique than the powers that define our abilities? That's dumb.
Also, as near as I can tell the Broadsword and Longbow mayhem temp powers look pretty frickin similliar to to default options for Broadsword and Archery.
And hey, I made the OP better! Now all the pictures are to scale with each other except for the snake knife because I can't figure out how to get that stupid thing to show up in demos! -
Quote:I know the Coralax hammer is available as a temp power, but if it were ported to War Mace it'd have to be shrunk some like was done with the Carnie Mallet, so it'd be like a different weapon.Yeah, i wouldn't bet on that. i'm fine with unlockables. On another note, a bunch of those weapons are available as temp powers and/or wouldn't make sense as an option for an existing powerset, like the Void Hunter Rifle. The Coralax big hammer one of my alts received as a temp power for running the (Silver Mantis?) SF.
i agree with the proposal to make a bunch of the others available as player weapons.
The Void Hunter Rifle could possibly work for Robotics, but it's also a temp power, and temp powers are something BABs said they wanted to keep unique... -

Is this power still a big contributor to defense, or is it more about the endurance these days?
-
Why did I have to hear about this from Kotaku?
-
Quote:Well I did say those were only some of them. Those, at least, we know can be used by NPCs as-is.Oh, there are many more. Have you been inside Mr. Yin's store in Faultline? The guy is hoarding away stuff from our costume creator!
Quote:Pure speculation here, but I have to wonder if the Arachnos Pistol is unavailable because then the Assault Rifle folks will then start fighting with VEATs as to whether they have access to the Arachnos Rifles.
I think it's a little premature to be getting excited about these, don't you think? -
There's quite a few weapons used by enemies that we as players aren't allowed access to. The devs have decided that they'd like to keep certain weapons like Scirocco's scimitar and Manticore's bow unique to the signature characters, but even then there are some weapons left we should be able to use. Here's a few of them.
Coral Hammer
Used by: Coralax
Would be available for: War Mace
Coral Club
Used by: Coralax
Would be available for: War Mace
Arachnos Pistol
Used by: Low-level Arachnos
Would be available for: Thugs, Dual Pistols
Elder Snake Knife
Used by: High-level Snakes
Would be available for: Broadsword, Dual Blades
Ring-Pommeled Sword
Used by: Midnight Squad bosses
Would be available for: Broadsword, Katana
Greatest Ice Sword
Used by: Blade Princes (Circle of Thorns Elite Bosses)
Would be available for: Ice Melee, Icy Assault, Ice Manipulation
There was also a fourth model for Ice Sword available at one point in beta that nobody had seen before; I guess it was an earlier model. But it seemed to work fine, so I don't know why they took it out. I don't have a picture of it, but let's add it to the list.
Tomahawk
Used by: Banished Pantheon
Would be available for: Battle Axe
Anyway, what do you think CoHmmunity? Would you like to see any of these weapons added? -
The changes in option 1 are all either impossible, or difficult to do for little reward. If you're finding that your trays are cluttered, I would definitely suggest reading this thread. I myself made a post there about consolidating the various TP powers (the 65th in the thread). A lot of the examples have been mutilated by the forum change, but the info's still good. (I fixed mine.
)
For option 2, I wanted to do this but didn't because I thought the starter temps didn't have their own unique icon files, but further investigation suggests that may not be the case. I'll probably end up doing that after all, if it turns out to be doable without breaking anything else.
As for the installer, I don't make it, but I think it's a safe guess that it is possible to make certain icon changes optional (though I don't know about mutually exclusive).
