    Knockout Blow

Why doesn't it, anyway? That seems odd.

That's how I usually handle that trick in other games.
They seem to have pretty high AoE defense.
  3. From an RP perspective, it might not makes sense to miss when you're solo, but on a team it would get much harder to strike because your target would already be fighting and moving around, making it still possible to mess up your attack.
  4. They definitely need more Tip and Morality missions, and this would be a good way to get them.
  5. They both look pretty illegible to me. :/

EDIT: I would be FINE with them adding Heroic PPPs. To balance out both sides. Other than that the current situation is fine as is.
What is this, backwards day? The "RP argument" is that people won't want to do villainous things to get their heroes Patron pools. How does that become compromised if the patron pools aren't necessarily evil?

Well, you're a Tanker, right? You'd have about 47% resist to S/L without Tough, and the -res patch is a 40% debuff. You'd resist a little under half of that, so your resistance is dropped by 22%, leaving you with 25% resist to S/L. Sounds about right to me.
  8. According to the patch notes, and what I experienced in the beta, if you have the hero version of an accolade and switch to villain, you're automatically granted the villain version of that accolade and the hero version goes inactive. Now, a Vigilante is a Hero in most respects, so he has to use the Hero accolades. However, unlike the Hero, he can still earn the Villain versions, which I assume will automatically be disabled because he's still mostly Hero. I don't know exactly what'll happen, though, hence my question.
  9. Let's say you don't have Eye of the Magus. You become a Vigilante and earn all the badges for the Demonic Aura power. Since Vigilantes are tourist heroes, you can't actually use Demonic Aura. Is Eye of the Magus Granted then, or do you have to change alignments?
  10. There's nothing inherently evil about the powers themselves. Yes, even Soul Mastery.
  11. One more thing: I'm not saying that the devs COULDN'T come up with powers that the signature heroes could teach you, I'm saying that there's no reason to be looking at the signature heroes and going "Man, I wanna do what they can do," because except for a very few superficial instances, you already can.

    Okay.
I thought we both understood that there wasn't even a comparison defensively between FA and SD, making discussing it pointless, and you had just mentioned defense as a matter of course.

Really, all that needs to be done is to change the mission objective where you find the Duplicate. Instead of clicking on a 'box of parts' they can have the Duplicate up and running.
Or, better yet, not running at all, and doing that "malfunctioning" animation that Praetorian clockwork can do.

But Water Spout is just a gussied up Tornado. Your words, not mine.
A gussied-up Tornado that explicitly channels the power of the Leviathan. When the game comes out and says Manticore's Teleport Arrow is him calling upon the power of Rifticus, patron saint of Teleportation, and not just Manticore having a clever arrow that we don't get in the Archery set, we'll talk. Well, I guess we're talking now, but you know what I mean.

I think you're intentionally missing the point if you can't see the difference between the two. Signature villains have, as a core to their design, plot-important powers that they can teach you with their Patron Pools. Signature Heroes have the same powers as players, plus some unique VFX and powers to make them seem special. There is no plot reason that Synapse can do an electric flurry or that Back Alley Brawler can do an Energy Transfer with knockback, it's just so they present a visually unique challenge. However, there are plot reasons that Ghost Widow can debilitate you with the souls of her enemies and Mako can vomit bile all over you.

And this WHOLE THING is a pointless derailment of this thread's actual purpose, which was to suggest a way for a hero to unlock a patron pool without having to go through the tedious and potentially RP-breaking process of becoming a full villain and turning back to full hero, which only one guy didn't even disagree with, just noncommitally said probably wouldn't happen because of some nebulous reason that he thinks he knows what the devs are thinking.

Read the post again, I edited it to be more clear. (Apparently while you were typing up your reply.)

The fact they they are explicitly channeling the power of the Leviathan.

    Same thing as above.

Black Scorpion's Scorpion armor uses the same tech as the Arachnos mace, just in suit form instead of mace form. A suit of powered armor more specifically, so of course he's gonna have a few Super Strength attacks.
  16. There wasn't anything inaccurate about the old icons, I just gave a few of them different symbols that were IMO more appropriate while I was in there changing them from their boring, lazy, recycled colors to fresh, new colors. So, probably not, sorry.
  17. That's just splitting hairs. None of the powers you listed are truly special other than the fact that we can't actually grab those specific powers. Back Alley Power Punch is just an Energy Melee attack, Synaptic Strike is just an Electricity Manipulation melee power, Teleport Arrow is just a gussied-up Aimed Shot, etc, etc.

As for the Patron Pools, the names and effects of the powers might be the same as elsewhere, but they're specially in canon the result of Arachnos tech or magic.
  18. Logged off in all the Day Job locations I couldn't get in Paragon City to get the bars in my badge window.
  19. Okay. Say you get your wish and the next Vet reward is capes at level 1. Now you have to wait six years to make a level 1 character with any cape. Is that REALLY the best solution to the problem?
  20. Have you guys actually given any thought to what would actually be IN those power sets, or are you just blindly requesting it because parity is a cool-sounding word? All the signature heroes have powersets that we already have access to. The only exception is Statesman, and I don't think Zeus is gonna be empowering other mortals with his command of thunder and lightning any time soon.
  21. That's great, but they have a whole team of people including our former lead dev being paid to do nothing but work on the incarnate system. I think they've got it covered.
  22. FA HAS resist debuff protection; if you have resist buffs, you have resist debuff protection. It's just how the math works out.
  23. I WAS joking in the OP. It was hyperbole. When Silas responded I thought he was referring purely to offensive power, hence my response.
  24. You can activate it, but Rest apparently interrupts it once it's on.
