The runner hits the edge with zero upward movement, and gravity accelerates him downward from 0 m/s by 10m/s². The jumper jumps at the edge, giving himself upward movement of 2 m/s, and accelerates downard at the same 10 m/s² as the runner. The jumper spends a short time moving upward while the runner begins moving downward immediately, thus giving the runner the early lead.
-
No, the runner would get to the ground faster than the jumper all things being equal, since both accelerate downward at the same rate but the jumper would have addition upward momentum for gravity to overcome, letting the runner reach the ground first.

Quote:Tell me about it.Great post, but you should have just said to buff.
There are lots of people who are desperate to find any post they can rebut, so any excuse will do. Encountering attitudes like so makes me want to go into some sort of confrontational analysis of what it says about human cultures but let's not get into that.
Me: Buff this or nerf that!
Strawman: No! No nerfs ever! You're wrong!
Me: I said nerf OR buff.
Strawman: NO NERFS! DEAL WITH IT! -
Stalkers do have Sniper attacks, in the patron pools.

I would probably not take the Psi epic, it really doesn't have much to offer Doms.
-
Just because I'm the one who brought it up doesn't make it about me.
-
This isn't about me, it's about the powers.

It's inconvenient to have to jump everywhere to get there faster. Yes I know you can use Sprint, but why should I have to spend endurance to run as fast as I jump? Since when is running more tiring that jumping?
-
Quote:Inconvenience isn't balance.Ok, then, serious time:
The fact that Sprint makes RunSpeed nearly equivalent to JumpSpeed with Hurdle and/or Ninja Run would be a big hint that this is balanced around Sprint.
Sprint costs End, but you don't have to keep activating it like you do with jump, which can be a pita during battle.
Balanced. -
I'm fairly convinced it is random, despite what the patch notes say...

Quote:If making a common-sense QoL suggestion and refusing to accept workarounds as a permanent solution and the status quo as "the right way" makes me "special," then yeah, that's me.Indeed. It takes a special kind of... well, special, to start a topic that is essentially "nerf this because it annoys me personally" and then complain about everyone else being narrowminded.
Not to mention there's no cost in having the choice right now. Everyone has access to the powers. Nerfing Hurdle to Swift level would just mean people would be slower. Buffing Swift to Hurdle level would mean people would go at the same speed as before. -
Honestly, all the rhetoric about "choice at any cost" and "never nerf things ever" is really narrow-minded, not to mention tiresome.

It WAS a problem when Fitness wasn't inherent.

I would not bother with the disk at all. Just grab the updater from the website and let it run for a while, then UPGRADE your trial account with the serial code. They'll still honor it, you'll get all the perks it promised you, plus City of Villains. Going Rogue, however, will not be included.
Also, like Ironblade said, defrag once the Updater finishes. It frags up the data on your disk quite badly whenever it updates. -
This is just dumb. Now that everybody has all the Fitness powers, that means everyone jumps faster than they run. Anyone who wants to move faster just has to jump everywhere and they'll get where they're going more than half again as fast as just running.
Seriously, how does it make sense that the horizontal movement buff of the ostensibly vertical movement passive is four times as strong as the buff from the actual horizontal movement passive? -
Ice Storm is great, and as an Ice/Ice you have to tools to use it to great effect. Sure, it takes a while to do its full damage, but if you look at the detailed info you'll see that its full damage is ridiculously high. Even a portion of that is useful.

You're wrong about Power Boost; its effect is to buff secondary effects like buffs and controls, and every MM gets a whole power set filled with those kinds of things.

This is a pretty esoteric thing to ask here, I think, but I don't know where else to ask.
I recently downloaded a piano app to my phone despite having no musical skill. I messed around a while and eventually figured out how to play songs from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. If you didn't know, music in Ocarina of Time is played on an ocarina (natch), using the A and four C buttons (up, left, down, and right). Anyway, I figured out how to play the song that goes C-Up, C-Left, C-Right, C-Up, C-Left, C-Right (Epona's Song) on the piano. Cool. Next, I figured out how to play the song that goes C-Down, C-Right, C-Left, C-Down, C-Right, C-Left (Saria's Song).
At this point I became very confused because the keys on the piano app that corresponded to C-Left and C-Right in Ocarina were different depending on which song I was playing. When playing Saria's Song, C-Left would be the A note and C-Right would be the B note, but when playing Epona's Song C-Left was B and C-Right was C. I have no idea how this is possible.
I dug Ocarina of Time out of mothballs and confirmed that the buttons always play the same notes every time, and I compared the piano app to a real piano to make sure the notes it played were accurate, and I found no answers. How is it possible that a note that's always the same is simultaneously different in the context of different songs? Is it sorcery? -
Quote:That's not a bug, that's a thing they put in that mission on purpose.I've actually had a couple of times when a pet summoned by a bad guy actually turned blue and pitched in. For instance, I was soloing the last mission of the arc with the bad cops -- the one where you fight both Captain Castillo and a giant robot that shows up after you beat Castillo -- and somewhere along the line, an engineer laid a force field generator that somehow became my ally. It was outlined in blue, it followed me around, it gave me +20% def... and it did this for the rest of the mission. It boosted my FF defender way past the def soft cap, and even the elite bosses couldn't touch him.

I would like to see tier 10 powers for primaries and secondaries.
