In that case, you're second-guessing people. People don't like that. A lot of times it comes with the condescending "problem solved" attitude, and people also don't like being condescended.

Quote:People in the suggestions forum aren't asking for help, they're trying to suggest improvements for the game. It's like if you call the police to arrest a robber, and they say you should just bury your money in the backyard so he won't find it if you don't want him to steal it.Anyway, at least one of Bill's suggestions works in the "since this hasn't been implemented, even if it someday may be, and you've got this problem now, here are few things you can try to mitigate the situation" sense. I've noticed that kind of thing often seems to make people get defensive, which is odd, since it's helpful.
Anyway I don't think the suggestion would work. No matter how long the grace period is, it wouldn't be enough for some people. Maybe you'll notice your mistake in ten minutes, but someone else won't notice it for thirty minutes. Or an hour. Or until the next morning when they next log in. And what happens with your enhancements? Do you get them back too? What if you unslotted an enhancement, and between finishing the respec and reverting it, you sold the enhancement to someone and they slotted it? Either someone loses their enhancement or it gets duplicated, and neither is a good option. -
Dual Pistols underperforms because it can do a lot of things but none of them well. Adding more ammo types won't help that.

Look at the IDF costume sets. No back pieces! Not even chest details that wrap around like the IDF have! I'm serious now. Why do they insist on keeping the backs of our characters so bland? We spend most of our play time looking at the backs of our characters, they should look as good as the front!

I was gonna complain about this in a different thread, but I figured this one works too.
I know the Robotic Drones are supposed to work with a lot of concepts, so they're small and generic. Unfortunately, they're too small and don't fit with any of my concepts, because in all of them the lasers actually come from the robots.

So like I said, I just got some the Storm Elemental pet powers from Lore, and I'm very confused. They just use generic Electrical Blast/Storm Summoning FX for their powers. Unlike (sadly) a lot of players these days, I've actually fought these things for real, and I know they have actual, unique FX for ranged attacks, targeted AoEs, and PBAoEs. As in, all the kinds of attacks the offense pets actually use. So why are they using color-inappropriate generic Elec Blast FX instead?
And the support pet: now, I know a support Storm Elemental doesn't actually exist in the real Storm Elementals group, so they don't have any FX to call upon. But couldn't they have at least utilized that power customization system they spent like a year and a half making so its Hurricane and O2 Boost didn't clash with the rest of the NPC?
In short, I'm really surprised at how lazy this Lore pool is. -
If you've ever played Freedom Force, you know that Flurry should use the same animation as the Bullet's Fist Fusillade attack.

Because Pain is the dark theme and Empathy is the Bright theme! It's so simple! Want your Empathy powers to use the Dark theme? Just make them as a Pain!

Not sure how this would improve your hypothetical situation, or the game in general.

No, it wouldn't be a long-lasting thing like that. It would last like 2-3 seconds, only as long as the activation VFX play. So for example, Accelerated Metabolism emits those circles around the caster for a few seconds after use, but they're just cosmetic; you have to be next to the caster when he first activated the power to actually get AM.
With my suggestion you could move near the caster as long as the rings are still appearing around him to get AM. After they stop appearing though, you're out of luck. -
Quote:Er, that's not what I meant. The buff would stick for its normal duration once it's applied. Like Freezing Rain, or Glue Arrow. That'd mean you'd have to stay within the AOE to continue to get the buff. I'm not sure Masterminds with Melee pets (ie all of them nowadays until that bug is fixed) would appreciate the need to keep their pets close in order to maintain their WoP buff.
My Plant/Emp wouldn't really like to have to stay close to everyone in order to maintain their buff either. -
This was just kind of an "out there" idea I had. When someone uses a PBAoE buff like Accelerated Metabolism, Recovery Aura, or World of Pain, you need to be in range at the moment of activation to get the benefit. Thing is, a lot of times you can be just out of range of the power and miss the benefit, but then these powers always seem to have long activation FX and animations, and it looks like you should be able to just run towards the caster and still get the benefit. For example, Barrier: when it's used, it throws up a big bubble and you, having experience with Dispersion Bubble, say "Hey! If I go in that bubble, I'll get defense!"* But no, by the time that bubble appears you've long since missed the chance to get buffed.
But then I thought, why couldn't the powers work like that? Instead of having the buff originate from the caster, have the caster summon an invisible pseudopet that emanates the buff constantly for the same duration as the activation time, and once you get it on you once, it sticks on you for the normal duration. Stick an "effect does not stack from same caster" flag on the powers and now they're much more lenient about where you need to be to get the benefit.
*Yes, I know in practice the powers don't usually last long enough for you to see them happening without you and consciously decide to move into range. Usually. -
I don't think a melee immobilize will work. Every other Blaster secondary t1 is for keeping foes out of melee. Also no Build Up?

Quote:Are you for real? Rolling the characters as villains and doing the villainside content is fine, but missions that have you actually choosing to NOT be the bad guy are out of character? After 22 missions that dont fit character concept. Its not super difficult, I would just prefer not to soil my characters reputation with morality missions.
Seriously, that doesn't make any sense. -

/signed, because the OP's eloquent and logical argument has convinced me.

Can you please fix the FX for Hurl? With the Bright theme, unless you use it at very close range, the thrown chunk of rock disappears before reaching the target, and the hit FX plays long after the target has taken damage. With the default and Dark themes the boulder's flight seems to have nothing to do with when the attack actually "hits" the enemy; at any range the damage tick hits before the boulder does, and at long ranges the boulder will disappear mid-flight when the hit FX play and the damage tick happens.
In short, with none of the FX themes does Hurl look right. -
Null the Gull allows you to cancel the movement-affecting portions of powers, i.e. the only parts that could negatively affect your experience. With that in place, why would you ever want to entirely dismiss a buff rather than just suppress it's visual effects?
-
Quote:Have you not heard about Null the Gull?-- First request, the ability to completely dismiss a buff.
With the change of several buffs to PBAE ( like SB ), some people may want to dismiss the effects. In certain maps, especially caves, SB can be a annoyance.
You not having heard about Null the Gull is the only reason I can think of for this to be the second request instead of the first. -
Without Disintegration, Anti-Matter's a complete pushover. Obliteration Beam is too slow and weak to kill a league and his own regular attacks aren't up to snuff. It's literally the only thing that can enable him to win the fight. Of course it's going to be incredibly dangerous.
But regardless, it's not infallible. -
Energy Aura looks visually more like Kinetic Melee anyway.
