  1. Statesman gave us Enhancement Diversification. I say he's getting what he deserves.

P.S. I've decided to name the new couple Statesline. Discuss.

So I'm not the only one who picked up on that and threw up in their mouth?
  3. P.S. I've ALWAYS wanted the Teleport power pool be able to open a portal to another zone or to the mission for his team to use. Pipedreams...
  4. I'd like to be thrown back into a wall, crash through it or at least put a dent in it, and feel like I got clobbered. I'd also love to do worse to the bad guys.

In terms of powersets, I would love a Telekinetic set, maybe having it be control. I'm adding that here, since Psychic Blast and Mind Control already have some of the TK type powers in there, so I'll never see a straight Telekinetic powerset. Makes me a sad panda. I would also love a Magnetic Control (no, not Gravity. Leave me alone.)

I think it would also be nice if we could add an effect to our travel powers, like leaving a trail of flame behind us with superspeed or a dark portal for Recall Friend and the like. Would be kickass...

  6. I've done 10 maybe. And 8 of those are between 10 and 40. Grr.

Thanks for pointing that out. Three members of my SG got one now Merry X-Mas!!
  9. Dear SuperSanta, as my name can attest, I've been the perfect hero this year. So, I would love the following:

    1) Most of all, Steelclaw's idea to come to fruition. And give him a yellow title for thinking of the children!
    2) If not full power pool customization, the ability to ditch hasten's effects.
    3) That VIP DVD collector's pack to come back for download. I want that thing like nobody's business.
    4) Water control/water blast. A much needed missing component of the elements.

Now, I've learned how to play (and to some degree appreciate) buffs, most of which I don't really need or care for. And who am I to complain? I partly owe one of my gold skiing medals to a kind soul's speed boost. (Happy holidays!)

On the other hand, I'm not a jerkface. When a lot of people are saying they're bothered by something, I take notice. And my kinetic, ice, and thermal radiation characters have all passed on taking powers that are widely known to inconvenience or annoy others.

Now, are those characters still useful to a team? Yes. Do I care what any of you think about this decision? I'm always willing to listen to feedback that is constructive (and in this case, original). But I'm very, very unlikely to respec into any of these powers unless the buffs in question are changed--because we aren't going to change most of the people who feel inconvenienced by them. Telling them to stop playing isn't constructive, in case you were wondering.

There are things that could be done. Speed Boost might be more appreciated if heroes could choose to benefit from its attack speed recharge boost--while opting out of its run speed boost. Ice and thermal shields might be less jarring if we had new, toned down auras to choose for them. Who doesn't like a recharge boost? Who wouldn't like more auras to choose from? A few good suggestions for a development team that prides itself on providing choices for players.
I can understand people not wanting Speed Boost, especially in cave maps. I can even understand why the brightness of the Ice or Thermal shields can be a bit overwhelming. Your decision not to take those powers is your business, and I shall respect it. But with the power customization there are a lot less harsh coloring and lighting options for those shields. And I would like to think having those powers for those people that do want them, and just not using them on people who don't would be a safer bet. Just thought I would give you a different viewpoint. Have a nice day
  11. I was in the same place getting badges and opened one of those silver doors and there was another player on the other side. We both kinda stood there and then traveled on and a few seconds later I sent him a tell saying "You scared the crap out of me!" to which he replied, "I know, me 2!"

    Funny times.

If he was a Kin/Something, or FF/Something Defender, then sure! Thats his primary function in the team. I know my defender still attacks, but she has a few select, higher damage/mez attacks that I use as needs be and in support of others. My praimry is my heals and buffs.
As a controller? Yeah, his praimry focus IS his controls.

And, really, FF won't stop you dying if you're already into the orange/red already. In fact, he's probably helping more by trying to keep mobs locked down with controls. After all, they cant hit you if their locked down.
Now, if he's not buffing AND is failing to lock stuff down, then yes, he's a bad player and deserves whatever abuse gets hurled his way
We were fighting Romans, so he really wasn't locking down, stunning, or holding anything. He even kept using his epic pool attacks before putting shields on even the tank. So yea, he was actually quite awful, but I digress. I guess I just don't see how people can't use their primaries and secondaries to their full effect at the same time. Putting buffs up AFTER every few mobs seems like a good way to not take away from your in combat role. I know it's not the easiest to catch everyone running into the next mobs, but you could still get a few guys before you had to do your other things.

If the guy/gal is genuinely playing a little sloppily then, ok, fine. It still happens though, everyone has off days. But expecting someone to forget everything else, just to attend to your needs is not only unrealistic, its also a tad arrogant, y'know? I doubt it comes down to 'not feeling like using a power or two'. It's much more likely to be 'Busybusypleasegimmeasecagh!'
I think I may be explaining myself completely wrong here. People don't have to be perfect. Lord knows I'm not. People die all the time in missions. No big deal. It's when I'm on a team with a, let's say Grav/Force Field controller. When people are dying all around him and ask for force fields, and he says "I'm a controller first. Let me control, then I'll shield you." It's that kind of behavior that really gets to me, and yes, I've had that happen. Everyone plays differently, some are better than others. I just want people to have fun and play their toons in ways that can help themselves and the team get to greatness.

When asked why, I'd tell them exactly what I thought of such behaviour. At great length.

You do your job, let your team mates do theirs. You request buffs, you don't demand them, you greedy little trogs!
    /general flailing rant

    So, myah
I understand ye fully. We don't demand people do their jobs, its just kinda expected in our group. We all have tons of fun, tanking with blasters, I even herd with my Defender a lot. But we never sacrifice team dynamics just cuz we don't feel like using a power or two. I just get irritated if I die after being in the red for 10 secs because the support toon was too busy spamming TK Blast to shield/buff/heal me or others.

Yes, my main toon is Utopia. Funny enough, her counterpart from Cole's world is named Praetoria. Yes, I got that name :P.

But related to SB, I just find it hard to believe why someone would have a problem doing their job. Empaths heal, tankers get aggro, blasters kill things. It's completely fine is you do other things also while you do your job. No one in our SG is going to look at you funny if the Kin uses controlly or blastery powers in addition to their kin powers. It's actually encouraged.

If people don't like speed boosting, then they should solo with their kin, or play something else, unless they find an SG or team that's cool with that. I'm sure they're out there. Somewhere. Apparently on Defiant Server :P
  18. In our SG, if you have a kin, you have SB. You use SB, specially on the tank. If people aren't around when you are firing off SB, their loss. Speed Boosting everyone makes anything we do so much faster than some random attacks from a non-blaster. We all have kins and take turns in our TF's and such so one person doesn't spend 4 hours spamming the power. Not saying this is the right or wrong way to do it, it's just the way we do it.

    Vet Reward Idea

I think this is a very good idea.
  20. I agree that a story or something explaining them would be great. It did always bug me that these ugly people with their bad color schemes just appeared there one day. Maybe we can get a backstory with some much better costumes in the future.
  21. The color combos and general costume really just turn my stomach whenever I see them. I suggest having some kind of costume contest on the Test server where people show up in what they think a good merit vendor costume would be, then you either let them redesign the Merit Vendors, OR (and more likely) have the developers use that as a template to redo the Vendor designs. I think it would fix an eyesore and be a good chance to let the community have a say in what a small part of the game looks like.

P.S. I'm not the only one who finds the Vendors ugly, am I?
P.P.S. I already posted this on the Suggestions Forums, but thought I would repost it here to get a better response. Curious to see how other people think about this.
