Thanks for the wishes everyone! It was a good birthday.

My daughter left me a hand written note that I found after she went to school. That by itself made my day.

Later that night I got cards and a cake. I only got one present, but it was what I had been wanting.

Awesomeness!!!

No more having to lug multiple books onto the airplane when I travel. Plus I have all of my work manuals on it.

Twas a very happy day.

The most recent CAD comic pokes great fun at SO.

1. Space is a very tiny place that requires next to no travel time.

2. It's ok to shoot someone to shut them up.

3. Regardless of how much you hate the civilians, you can't kill them.

3. Your protagonist is always an idiot.

4. Gravity is something that you can easily ignore.

5. Everyone is superhuman.

6. Being riddled with bullets is survivable.

7. There is no reason to fear a cooking grenade.

8. The world is full of obstacles, but luckily you always are headed in the right direction to avoid them.

9. Being run over by a car is a mere inconvenience.

10. Regardless of what your dad said; "You are invincible!!!!!"

Unless they changed it, it doesn't work. We tried it back when and failed. Not to say that a full team of mind control toons couldn't manage it, but we had several on the team and never fazed Recluse.

I'd like to try it out, but I'm with the group that is waiting for a free trial. I've gotten to where I hate to buy a game without trying it out first. I guess that comes from buying several that I ended up loathing.

I miss the robot.

Most of my fast Posi teams were Controller/Defender mix. I think the fastest one I ever did was a full team in 1:15 with 3 defenders, Kin/Sonic, Ice/Sonic, Ice/Sonic; 2 Controllers, Fire/Kin, Earth/Rad, two blasters, and a tank. We tore through the whole thing at breakneck speed.

The best STF team was the very first Master run on Protector with Rasta, Sooner, Trick, and a few others whose names escape me offhand. While not necessarily fast, it was memorable in that everyone knew what to do and when to do it. Help me out here, who else was on it? I'm not at home to look at the screenshot.

I've been reading up at Elitist Jerks to prep for raiding. I took their advice and respec'd my rogue. I gotta say the dps numbers that I am putting out after the respec with junk gear are pretty darn good. Over 3x what I was putting out with a build I got off of WoW wiki.

As I mentioned earlier, I dinged my first 80 in WoW. I have done some minor world PvP when I run across someone my level with their PvP flag on, but I hadn't tried zone PvP.

I picked one of the PvP capture the flag instances and zoned in. My build was a lousy build for PVe or PvP, I hadn't bothered to look up a min/maxed one. Once everyone started zoning in, one of the other players on my team laughed at me for coming in with suboptimal gear and spec. I shrugged it off and went ahead learning how the zone played.

At the end of the time my group won and I ended up mid ranks for kills for both sides. Since I had spent about half the fight defending our flag carrier I thought it was acceptable.

I was quite pleased to see that I didn't totally suck at PvP over there. Now that I have a better build I am going to go back in and see if I can do better. Somehow I have a feeling that going into the arena is a totally different ballgame. I'll still have to give it a shot though.

Finally finished off my level first level 80. Now for the gear grinding.

Yeah, I said bleated on purpose. Bahhhh.

I have been playing WoW for the past several months. Close to dinging my first 80. I have to say that the latest patches have made the game much more enjoyable.

It's easy to see that CoH and WoW seem to notice each other's strengths. WoW has recently taken a huge step toward trying to please the player base much more than they used to.
