That's crazy talk. Who ever heard of sleep helping with words make sense anyway?

I survived another round with my arch-nemesis, Golden Ace. I knew something was up when he invited me over to his house so quickly after being informed that I would be in the area. There were promises of a "BBQ" and "stay the night, please" being thrown around in a weak attempt to lure me in.
Of course any offer of free food is something that even a hardened soul such as myself would have trouble turning down, so I went ahead and accepted the offer. Who doesn't like free food???
We were told to show up fashionably late. I assume this was so that he would have time to set up all of the traps and poison. Try as I might I never did see a single trap and as for poison all I got was some gas and a bit of indigestion.
Like any good host he met us at the door with his minions in tow. I was surprised that there were only three. Most villainous figures have dozens due to loosing them to unfortunate accidents. Perhaps that is why there were only three. This could also explain the lack of traps and poison. The other minions had tested the devices and found them to be working and GA didn't have time to set more.
His wife was quite a nice lady. I thought at first she was being held against her will what with all of the cooking she was doing, but I later found out that she was trying to turn him to the good side. It seemed to be working as I heard him say, "Yes dear" several times. Given a few more years of work, she might just manage to make him a model citizen.
The time came to eat. And eat we did. Ribs, steak, crabs, salad, rice, it was all delicious. I ate too much. Shesa ate too much. The sidekicks ate too much. Frankly after the first few mouthfuls, I forgot about checking for poison. And then there was the cheesecake. Homemade cheesecake. Arrgghh. I had to force myself to eat it, but somehow I managed to get it down along with a chocolate pudding dessert cup. And a few more ribs.
I was chatting along with GA when I realized that the timers on the traps I had set were getting short. I hurriedly made some poor excuse to leave and tried to make it out before anything armed itself. GA did his best to delay us, but we finally managed to make it out alive.
It was fun, but I was a bit disappointed that there weren't any traps to dodge or disarm. And as far as poisons go I think my dad was right. A gallon of buttermilk before drinking anything vile will disarm the effects.
At least we did our part to put a dent in his food supply.
BTW, the ribs were still delicious reheated on Wednesday night along with the cheesecake remains.
Thanks for a great time GA. -
Quote:As I remember in some red name post, once you fully switch you can no longer access the base. Pretty sure you stay in the group, you just can't access anything.Nice teaser. It certainly explains why there haven't been many new oficial arcs in a long while. They have been saving up. Any word on what happens to super/villain group afilitiation to somone cycling from one side to the other?
In any case I look forward to seeing the new stuff!
There was a ton of outcry over loosing SG time/prestige earned/etc so I highly doubt that they will auto kick from the group. -
Happy BDay my Rastafarian friend!!!!!!!

To paraphrase; "We couldn't figure out a way to keep the markets and data separate without investing a ton of time and database resources."

Technically it's still all one game, it's just localized for the EU market.

Time of day factors into the active player count as well. Prime time for most MMO's is between 7pm to midnite Eastern time.
Villain zones tend to be less populated than Hero zones depending on the server.
Oh, and there is only one version of the game as such unlike WoW where there are currently three (Vanilla, BC, Wrath). -
And as an aside, It had been suggested to me several times by various people who didn't want to make a Yahoo account that the calendar be moved to Google where it could be more open, but I had procrastinated on doing it for various reasons.
When Stalemate said something about it this last time, I decided that it was time to get someone in who was more involved in the community. Like any good leader, I know how to delegate. So I passed the buck and made him do all the work. All kidding aside, I honestly didn't have time to monkey with it so I asked Stalemate to set it up.
I have to say that I think the Google format is much better suited to our needs as a community and that the addition of the other editors was something that was lacking and needed.
Thanks to everyone who agreed to edit the calendar and keep it up to date. -
Well we are out of the complimentary toasters and blenders. Just as well, they tended to short out at those odd moments when a fire isn't the most welcome thing to have.
I can offer you a wonderful can opener though. It seems to be a bit sturdier made than the aforementioned appliances. Just watch your fingers.
Oh. And welcome to Protector. Home of the loonies and crazies. Well one at least. *looks around furtively* -
Thanks for taking this on and reviving it Stalemate. Since I am not as active as I once was this takes a burden off of me and adds a lot of fresh faces to help keep it updated.

I get that stuff all of the time in WoW. You'd think they could at least get the sentence structure and spelling right.
-
Not that I know of unfortunately.
I do have it set to hide email addresses now. -
Quote:I've been deleting the spam as I can. I can't get to it from work (darn Websense), but I'll get it when I get home.Is the calendar currently being used by anyone to schedule events?
I added it to my Yahoo!Groups but it looks like the most recent post is a viagra spam... O.O
Anyone can post items on the calendar, or should be able to at least. -
We run into this a lot when dealing with people who are coming to America for business.
We had one guy who was visiting from Belarus, he thought he'd just take a drive over to LA from Atlanta. He said he had three days and wanted to spend a two days in LA. He was a bit shocked to find that he might get a few hours if he was lucky and could handle 20 hours behind the wheel at a time.
Then there were the folks from Hong Kong who needed to go to Chicago. They thought they could hop up there in an hour or two. Again a bit of a shock when we told them that just getting to the airport was going to take an hour.
Folks tend to forget just how big the US is. Sure it's possible to drive across the US from San Francisco to New York City in 60 hours. I've done it. Just don't expect to get any sleep. -
I'm not going to mention that they still are ignoring Dragon*Con.
Nope. Not going to mention Dragon*Con at all.
It's silly really. I mean it's only one of the biggest conventions in the US. So there is no need mentioning Dragon*Con.
So I won't mention them not planning on going to Dragon*Con at all in this discussion.
