On a more serious note, I think this is the best thing we can do for the new players that come in on the free to play system. To me, even giving them a positive nickname implies that you still see them as something different and not apart of the game. To call them and embrace them as players of CoH would probably be the best thing to do.

The term freeloader has a nice ring to it

Quote:Nope, most of the dev answers/info have already been posted by the devs on the forums or can be taken from the CoH: Freedom FAQ. Nothing really new revealed, which doesn't surprise me.So, did this session go any better? Did we get any new information?
This first attempt at a dev/player Facebook Q&A really needs some work and this whole session felt more of a PR soundbite then an actual discussion between players and devs. These points bear repeating, but if the CoH dev and community team plan to do this again they need to
1. Let people know what questions have already been answered
2. Quit answering the same questions over and over
3. A heads up on what type of questions you are willing to answer and not answer would be great, and very courteous to those participating.
4. Also most of the questions seemed to have been answered by a few people attending. People came in and participated expecting and wanting a response from the official CoH dev team members, not from other people attending. If you plan to hold a Q&A and let others do most of the work for you then that's just a sign of laziness in my book. -

Quote:To throw in my suggestion. If you're only going to be fielding questions then let the people know up front. Let them know that you'll only be handling questions about account changes for this sessions, the next session about the VIP rewards program, and so on versus just saying we'll be taking all questions and then picking which ones we are authorized to answer at the time.Possible changes that may make it better in the future:
1) Acknowledge all unique questions. I know there are lot and you cannot comment on all of them, but the vast majority of them appear to just be ignored. Maybe even compile a forums post that answers them. There are some really good questions there that deserve an answer even if it is the trademark "we can't comment on that right now" answer.
2) In the opening post, refer people to the FAQ post for Freedom and the new one from Positron regarding character slots. I can't count the number of times that one was asked. Let's let people know what has been answered and remind them to please refrain from asking about it again.
3) Answer more then just five or six questions. This was billed as an interactive Q7A. It didn't feel that way.
I think it was a good idea, but right now it just isn't working. -
Quote:Are the questions meant to be only related to CoH: Freedom, or are I21 questions allowed too?
Since it's being called Freedom Fridays I guess it's questions about CoH: Freedom, but doens't Issue 21 tie-in to the launch of CoH: Freedom. So I don't see questions about Issue 21 being out of place, but that's just me. -
This is just me taking a wild guess but I doubt discounts to the subscription are going to come with the launch of Issue 21 or anytime after. To me, it would involve tinkering around with the billing system and I don't think the devs really want to mess around with that.

The Facebook Q and A was meh for me. The devs seemed to answer the same questions over and over and just ignored or didn't want to answer the other ones. Maybe for the next one they should state what topic of questions they are willing to discuss vs. wasting the time of people coming on and asking questions and getting no response.

Quote:I'm under the impression that momentum ties into the recharge time of the titan weapons powerset. Each successive hit lowers the recharge time of the powerset down a notch building up to a full assault. Miss, get hit, or run out of End and then you have to start all over again.Ooh, another thought.
I wonder how the momentum speeding up of animations is achieved? If its tech that can actually speed up/slow down animations on the fly (probably isn't, but hey, we can dream) then that could mean come very cool effects for time manipulation. -
Died from the wound he received in Ultimate Avengers vs. New Ultimates# 3. Pretty much bled to death fighting Norman Osborn and protecting Aunt May, Mary Jane, Gwen Stacy and his whole neighborhood from Norman's rampage.

Quote:There's speculation that it will be a staff/pole arm setThat new Joystiq article most certainly confirmed 2 handed weapons but it won't be available with I21 launch. Although Katana is already a 2 handed weapon so I'm not sure what this is all about. The mention of it doesn't really sound like a new powerset but a new mechanic. Dunno really.
-
For a moment I thought it was 2 weapons you hold in both hands, so I was like "ok." Then I realized it was a one weapon that you hold with both hands, alluding to a staff-like weapon, then I was like "Awesome".

Quote:Maybe the energy/goo adapts their look to wherever they show up? Like in Bloody Bay they used the skeletons of the people killed there for their shape, but in Galaxy City they seme to be using the rubble of the ruined buildings to give them their shape?
I'm more inclined to go with this theory in regards to the shivan look. Reminds of the Dark Horse Comic Virus, were materials on hand were used to create host bodies for the virus. -

Welcome to Pando... er, I mean First Ward, where out there beyond that fence every living thing that crawls, flies, or squats in the mud wants to kill you and eat your eyes for jujubes. -
This is what I can imagine will happen when Galaxy City turns into Galaxy Slum
Random Guy: Shouldn't we be moving these dangerous artifacts away from this war zone
Gregor: Nah, it'll all be fine. That's what the vault is for.
Random Guy: Um... ok, if you say so.
*Boom! Freedom Phalanx building goes under*
Random Guy: So much for the vault
Gregor: Don't worry, do what I do and just slightly allude that this is Azuria's fault.
Random Guy: But Azuria wasn't even here when all this happened
Gregor: Exactly.
Either way I'll still champion the cause till the bitter end. -
So far the only thing I'll probably detest about the F2P system add-on is the chance that there will be a group of F2P players who feel that they should be entitled to the VIP content at no charge and play that tune ad nausem.
