  4. Well at least it has an action figure line. So they can't cancel it based on that.

From what I could make from the original series and recall from it. Slythe and his crew were from Planet Plun-darr and just raiders who stole resources from other planets, natural resources and its inhabitants as slave labor, to use on their planet. Also I think Slythe was after the Sword of Omens due to hearing about how powerful a weapon it was. I think in a later episode it was explained that Slythe was also secretly looking for the Sword of Plun-darr, a weapon that was equal to the Sword of Omens.

That's the question I wanted to see answered.
This could be bad (notice the stress on "could", as it's just speculation at this point).
Let's say you have to wait 1-3 years for something you love... and then you get there and it is not in the rotation.
I wonder how long of a cycle there will be.
I really didn't expect them to handle it that way for things such as Celestial Armor and whatever fantastically spiffy costume sets they put in there.

This just seems a bit like the old playschool teasing game of holding the carrot over someone's head and pulling it away as they reach for it.

I guess we'll just see how it goes.

I agree, I guess this is going to hinge on the rotation schedule they plan to use for the Tier 9 VIP rewards. I'm guessing the devs will probably want to shoot for something that creates this "I got to buy this now" feeling. Especially if the player doesn't have a reward token on hand and probably willing to buy 1200 Paragon Points to get one, but at the same time if a player misses the VIP Tier 9 they want. The rotation schedule isn't something that puts a player off and not want to participate or avoid the Paragon Rewards Program.

  8. Finally saw the reboot, thanks to a friend that DVR'ed it and Oh my god was this kick-[censored] awesome. Now this is how a reboot should be done. The new Thundercat series has me hooked and I really can't wait for the next episode.

The only thing I'm wondering is if this is a reboot or some kind of vague continuation from the original series. There's talk in the show about how the founding Thundercats defeated Mum-Ra, establishing Thundera on Third Earth, and lost tech. Either way it's still a great show

Ban tossing a ripped up photo of, I think, Harvey Dent

Photo of some extras on set dressed in Gotham Corrections Prison uniforms. I'm guessing the script will borrow elements form KnightFall. Bane probably using the mercenaries and his version of the Tumbler make an attack on Gotham Prison and free some prisoners.
  10. Well if he's leading a small army it's got to imply that he's using strategy. As for him on top of the tumbler, maybe Bane used his connections with the League of Shadows to steal the blueprints from Wayne Industries and built himself his own version of the Batmobile to terrorize Gotham with.
  11. From the first pic. It looks like Bane will lead a pack of mercenaries and he seems to be standing on top of the Tumbler.
  12. Here's a few pix of Tom Hardy as Bane for The Dark Knight Rises.

Just to make sense of your inquiry. From what I can interpret from your posts. You're question/issue/concern is whether a player has to unlock Tier 9 in the Paragon Rewards Table in order to access the new powersets from the Paragon Market.

I've been to Comic-Con and saw Street Justice and Beam Rifle in the Paragon Market, the one you buy with points, not tokens and they're not in or associated in anyway with the Paragon Rewards system. As other stated many times, along with proof to back themselves up. players do not have to unlock Tier 9 on the Paragon Rewards Table to purchase powersets from the Paragon Market. These are 2 separate systems, completely independent form another, one does not influence the other.

You seem to be just sticking your fingers in your ear and going "la la la la la la la la, I can't hear you!" over and over as people point out this out to you. I say if you want to continue the discussion then I'm going to request some proof from you that validates your inquiry/question/issue. Post a video of a clip of one of the CoH dev team, a forum post link, something from the CoH dev team that states you have to unlock Tier 9 from the Paragon Rewards table in order to unlock or use the powersets from the Paragon Market.

  16. Here's part 2 of today's Freedom Friday Facebook Q and A

    Q. You mentioned rotating Tier 9 VIP rewards. Does this mean things like the Celestial Costume Packs will eventually ‘rotate’ to unavailability to make room for newer rewards?

    A. Tier 9 VIP rewards will rotate out, and new rewards will be added, however because these rewards are always rotating there will never be something that goes ‘unavailable’ for good. You’ll have another chance at getting it if you missed it.

    Q. I really like this whole freedom deal. Why, and what made you guys do this?

    A. One of the things we wanted to do with City of Heroes Freedom is to give players not only a choice in how they want to play, but also deliver an incredible value. For the Paragon Rewards program, specifically, we really wanted to improve about the veteran rewards system and give players a lot more. And with Freedom and the Paragon Rewards system, players have a choice in what rewards they take, and they have a lot more value within the new Paragon Rewards program.

    Q. Will reward tokens be granted for every subscribed starting from July like the paragon points will or does that only happen after freedom launches?

    A. Reward Tokens will be awarded every month for subscribers once Freedom launches. Prior to that you’ll calculate the number of veteran badges you have (1 reward token per veteran badge), and 1 reward token per every 12 months you’ve been subscribed.

    Q. Is there any way to earn Paragon Points in-game, or only through the Paragon Marketplace as a purchase? ( I doubt it, but thought I’d ask, lol );

    A. Paragon Reward Tokens will be accumulated through subscription time, prior Veteran Rewards badges, AND players can receive 1 Paragon Rewards token for every 1200 Paragon Points they purchase. This is another way to get Paragon Reward Tokens.

    Q. Could you elaborate on what category the Tier 9 VIP “powers” will be? Combat powers? Aesthetic powers (rainbow flight)? Pet Powers?

    A. We’ll discuss those Tier 9 VIP powers at a later time. =)

    Q. When Freedom launches if I make a new VIP character will I still be able to claim all my vet rewards when I log in or will I only have points and have to purchase them individually?

    A. When Freedom launches, if you are a brand new subscriber, you will receive 1 Paragon Rewards Token per month, plus an extra Paragon Rewards Token for every 12 months subscribed. You can also get 1 Paragon Rewards Token by purchasing 1200 Paragon Points, but you cannot buy Paragon Rewards Tokens WITH Paragon Points.

    Q. Through the new reward system will we be able to get some of the old stuff you can’t get anymore such as the old CoH deluxe pack with the VIP badge, power slide and the Cape of the 4 winds?

    A. The “perks” from the COH DVD Collector’s Edition and the City of Villains Collector’s Edition are currently exclusive to those boxed editions. We have no plans to give these out through the Paragon Rewards Program, nor through the Paragon Market at this time.

    Q. If you already have claimed Sand of Mu/Nemesis Staff on a veteran character, will it be possible to also claim, via Paragon Rewards, Ghost Slaying Axe/Blackwand?

    A. If you have already claimed one of those rewards on a character (say Nemesis Staff), then it will be pre-claimed in the Paragon Rewards program. You will not be able to change it on that character.

    Q. Similar question for new players who get tokens for buying points. If buying any amount of points gets to premium, this means the first token will be awarded after buying $5 worth of points (the minimum as I understand it). When will the next token be awarded? At $15, $20, $30?

    A. All players will receive one Paragon Rewards Token to access tier 1; this introduces players to the Paragon Rewards program. This does NOT require players to purchase any Paragon Points. Premium Players (or VIP players who chose to do so) will receive 1 Paragon Rewards Token per 1200 paragon points purchased. Every 1200 Paragon Points you purchase, you will receive 1 Paragon Rewards Token.

    Q. About the Tier 9 reward ‘Enhancement Unslotter’… The image on the Paragon Rewards info page indicates it can be used 5 times. Wouldn’t it make more sense to unslot 6 at a time, so one could remove a whole set if they have it?

    A. Items in the Market are sold in packs of 1, 3, and 5. So if you claimed the “Enhancement Unslotter” reward, which has 5 uses, you could get a “1 use” Enhancement Unslotter from the Paragon Market.

    Q. Earlier you mentioned that Paragon Rewards will appear under either the Character or Account Items tabs under the Global email. Currently these do no exist in-game. Are these tabs going to go live when Paragon Rewards goes live or are they the Certification and Vouchers tab currently in-game.

    A. Think of “Certifications” as Account Items, and “Vouchers” as Character Items

    Q. And just to make sure, the tokens will be awarded as highest of number of badges and months subscribed divided by 3? That’s based on you saying previously that all badges will remain (presumably even for people who have too few badges will get the correct number)

    A. After Freedom launches, Tokens will be awarded through subscription time. (In addition to the bonuses received for every 12 months subscribed and every 1200 Paragon Points purchased)

    Q. Just to be clear: Paragon Reward Tokens is a loyalty-currency. Paragon Points is a cash-parallel currency. PRT rewards loyalty with special powers/items/etc that are chosen by the devs and circulate through the various tiers of loyalty. (what is the ‘token cost’ of each tier?) PPs are used to purchase items/powers/etc from the Paragon Market, which has no ties to loyalty and in which items are static and do not cycle. Yes?

    A. That’s correct! Paragon Reward Tokens are awards that you receive based on subscription time. (And as a bonus for each purchase of 1200 Paragon Points) Paragon POINTS are currency you can buy that allows you to purchase items in the Paragon Market.
As for the “Token Cost” of each tier, please see this picture:
    http://www.cityofheroes.com/images/i...ds_Program.jpg

    Q. Far as I understand, subscribers are not currently getting one token a month, and I’m just wondering why not. I think it would make the same kind of sense as awarding 400 points a month.

    A. Current subscribers are not receiving one Paragon Reward Token per month, however subscribers who have Veteran badges and /or 1+ years of subscription time will have their Vet Rewards automatically converted into Paragon Rewards Tokens, so they will start out with some once Freedom launches.

CoH – Note that subscribers WILL begin receiving one Paragon Rewards Token per month once Freedom launches

    Q. If I don’t want the prestige sprints vet power that I already have, can I opt NOT to burn a token on them under the new program?

    A. Yes and no. For every reward on a tier, players will eventually need to redeem a token on every reward benefit within that tier to advance. So yes, you may opt to not use a token on a particular reward within a tier, but you will eventually need to unlock that reward to advance.

    Q. What will the Paragon Points system give to those who have a lot of veteran rewards (almost 2 years) and have bought both City of Heroes: Collectors Edition and City of Villains: Collector edition, as well as the “Good vs. Evil” expansion, probably gonna pick up the Going Rogue Collectors Edition as well, will we receive extra rewards or did we only buy a few costume pieces and some sprint affects???

    A. The Paragon Rewards program and Paragon Points are different. The Paragon Rewards program uses Paragon Rewards Tokens, which accumulate from subscription time, Veteran Badges if you have them, and every purchase of 1200 Points. Paragon Points are the currency you can use to buy things in the Paragon Market.

We’re not going into complete details about what rewards each of the 9 tiers in the Paragon Rewards program will contain, but certain things you can expect are things like special consumables, access to game content like the Auction house, Mission Architect, and the Controller and Mastermind ATs, and exclusive rotating benefits for VIP players who’ve reached Tier 9.
  17. Here's the first part for today's Freedom Friday Q&A

    Q. Can we use our reward points towards unlocking the new powers instead of doing all those trials over and over again?

    A. There will be some exclusive powers that come with being a Tier 9 VIP in the Paragon Rewards Program, however if you’re talking about Incarnate powers, the way to get those is through Incarnate content.

    Q. In addition to Beam Guns and Street Justice, have there been plans to unveil any additional powersets with the Paragon Rewards Program?

    A. The powersets we’ve revealed so far are Time Manipulation, Street Justice, Beam Rifle, and Titan Weapons.

    Q. Paragon Rewards, is it the new system that replaces the current vet rewards system?

    A. Yes, the Paragon Rewards program replaces the existing Veteran Rewards program. Your current Veteran Rewards will carry over into the Paragon Rewards program.

    Q. Is 9 tiers the maximum for the Paragon Rewards system or will more tiers be added?

    A. There is Tier 9, and Tier 9 VIP. Tier 9 VIP will be the top tier, and will have exclusive, rotating rewards.

    Q. Are veteran rewards chosen per character or per account?

    A. Both! There will be rewards that have a per character use, and also account-wide rewards!

    Q. How much will it cost to be a VIP member?
    Q. How much does the VIP subscription cost?

    A. VIP subscription is the same as the current subscription price for City of Heroes (About $14.99 USD)

    Q. Do you have to be around an 80 month veteran in order to become tier 9, or can it be a little bit less? Also, if not, then how can we get to Tier 9 from say Tier 7.

    A. Tier 9 roughly translates to an 84 month Veteran status. However, you will be able to reach tier 9 even if you’re not an 84-month veteran by acquiring Paragon Reward tokens

    Q. Is there going to be a max number of Paragon Reward Tokens and max number of Paragon Points that one can accumulate and hold or is there a cap for them?

    A. There will not be a cap on Paragon Points or Paragon Reward Tokens

    Q. What can I not buy with Paragon Rewards?

    A. Each slot in the Paragon Rewards program unlocks its own benefit, so you can chose which rewards you’d like to earn. We’ll discuss in detail what all the benefits per tier are at a later date.

    Q. Are the vet rewards unlocked per character or per account? For instance can I take certain picks with one character, and another set with a different one? Or are they picked once and the “consumable” rewards just claimed when on each character?

    A. The Paragon Rewards tree is account-wide, but for things like consumables at Tier 9, they would be claimed per character through your global e-mail. These can be claimed by any character on your account.

    Q. I heard that Tier 9 VIP will include ponies. Will they be customizable because I want a blue one.

    A. There are currently no plans for Tier 9 VIP ponies

    Q. Is there a maximum number of reward tokens that a player can have at the start of the Paragon Rewards scheme, taking into account the 29 earned via existing vet rewards, and the 7 “yearly bonus” rewards?

    A. The amount of Paragon Rewards Tokens a player will start with will depend on Veteran status. Veteran players will receive 1 Reward Token per Veteran Badge, and 1 reward token for every 12 months you have subscribed.

    Q. Will the badges for the Galaxy City change once it is becoming a tutorial zone? And will we still be able to get vet badges that have been currently released even after Freedom comes out?

    A. There will still be ways to receive Veteran Badges after Freedom launches.

    Q. Are you able to say anything else about Tier 9 VIP? Like, will there be anything else there besides the costumes (love those by the way)?

    A. There will be costume pieces, exclusive powers, and other in-game rewards. We’ll talk more about them in the future

    Q. I have the 33 month veteran badge, will I be able to unlock controllers? In the past you have said people around the 3yr mark “should” be able to unlock them. Also, will premium players have access to time manipulation?

    A. If you’re a 3yr Veteran you will likely have access to controllers and masterminds.

    Q. Are there already plans to expand the T9 and T9 VIP offerings? Possibly even lower trees as more gets added.

    A. Tier 9 VIP rewards will continuously rotate, so there will be multiple rewards you can receive in that tier.

    Q. Can tokens be purchased with cash in the online store? Is there anything that will be offered through the new rewards program that won’t be for sale in the new store? I have used some of my respecs granted as vet rewards, when you go through and grant tokens for the months – do you subtract out tokens for vet benefits that I have already used or just give me x # of tokens equating to x # of months played? Thank You.

    A. You will not be able to purchase Reward Tokens with Paragon Points. There will be Reward Program benefits that are not available via the Paragon Market. The number of tokens you receive is equal to Badges earned, even if you have claimed the Veteran reward.

    Q. Will there be rewards in the form of bonus powers/abilities that are permanent to a character? If you included the Chain Gun temp power I would be in heaven!

    A. We’ll discuss what the specific rewards you can earn through the Paragon Rewards program are at a later date

    Q. Can you convert Paragon Points, the currency used for the Paragon Market, into Paragon Reward Tokens and vice versa?

    A. Paragon Reward Tokens and Paragon Points are not interchangeable—you will not be able to purchase one with the other.

    Q. I’m getting a bit confused by Paragon Rewards, and Paragon Points. (so much Paragon) Paragon Rewards replaced the VIP rewards system. Will the Paragon Points replace/affect the current information/merit/hero merit marketing system, or will it just have the unique acquisition method and maybe unique purchasables?

    A. Paragon Rewards replaces the Veteran Rewards program. You receive Paragon Reward Tokens, and you can use them to receive account-wide and per-character benefits on the Paragon Rewards tree. Paragon POINTS are the currency you can use to purchase items in the Paragon Market.

    Q. For the Reward Tokens that are going to be granted will it be going off of your current vet reward badges or actual paid time? The reason why I ask is because there was a bug I think last year or so where vet rewards where being added earlier than they should be.

    A. Veterans will receive one Paragon Reward Token per Veteran Badge, and one Paragon Reward Token per 12 months subscribed.

    Q. When the reward program hits, will those of us who have been subscribers since Day 1 reach Tier 9,or will there be some more time to go?

    A. If you have been playing since Day 1, you should be able to choose Tier 9 rewards.

    Q. You say “for things like consumables at Tier 9, they would be claimed per character through your global e-mail. These can be claimed by any character on your account.” Can you please clarify? Is it you claim it on each character on your account, or you can claim it once on any character?

    A. yes, you would claim a consumable once on the character of your choice.

    Q. @City of Heroes that doesn’t answer the question though. I asked what was the maximum number of tokens that you could take through into the new scheme from the existing Veteran Rewards scheme.

A Player can currently earn 36 tokens (29 from Vet badges, 7 from the yearly bonus), and yet you stated on a Ustream slide that a player could only carry through a maximum of 29 Paragon Reward tokens (which is basically anyone who has played the game for 6 years +)

So the actual question I would like an answer for to is this: Have you removed the limitation that you stated here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...dator/pr12.jpg
I am asking this, because depending on what you read you get conflicting answers

    A. That slide is outdated. there is no cap

    Q. So when is it going to be free to play and I’m still lost in regards to the fact I’ll love my vet rewards that I have already claimed.

    A. City of Heroes Freedom will launch later in the year. If you have previous Veteran Rewards, you will NOT lose them; your Veteran Rewards badges will be converted into Paragon Rewards Tokens, plus 1 Paragon Rewards Token for every 12 months you were subscribed.

    Q. Will we be able to purchase Paragon Points with Paypal?

    A. We’re discussing the Paragon Rewards program today (Paragon Points are for the Paragon Market), but the answer is yes.

    Q. you mentioned claiming consumables through global e-mail. Does this mean you’ll be increasing the number of emails we can have at one time from 20? I use my global email constantly and already run into the 20 cap. Thanks.

    A. Paragon Rewards will appear as either Character Items or Account Items tabs under global email; these have no limit. So, as an example, if you were to take a consumable from the Paragon Rewards Program, you would receive a Character Item in your Global email. You could then log onto any character, access the Character Items, and claim that consumable on that character.

    Q. [Could not find the question]

    A. All Veteran Rewards are going to become Paragon Rewards, so instead of getting a reward every three months, you will get a Paragon Reward Token to spend every month of subscription once Freedom launches, plus an extra token per year subscription!

  23. Seeing Issue 21 at Comic Con and the info that has been released so far has me very excited about Issue 21.
The things that the dev team have planned for us in Issue 21 and beyond is probably a good sign that many good things are to come.

Everything is up for grabs with the potential that Issue 21 offers and I hope that the devs capitalize on this.
Everyone ends up a winner with Issue 21, devs, players, community. It would take a lot of work to screw this up.
