  1. I think there are aspects of civilization that are dangerous to the world. If I were to restart and rebuild a modern civilization I would control those aspects with an iron hand.

    Thundercats 9/2

Another 80s cartoon reference in this episode were the Tigersharks.

    Thundercats 9/2

I think it was mentioned that the Silverhawks would make an appearance in the new Thundercats series. So a Mon-Starr cameo could be a prelude for their appearance.
  4. God I hope it's just a gag, but it wouldn't surprise me if Lucas continues to violate the Star Wars franchise. I have this sneaking suspicion that this a plot by Lucas to re-release of the original unedited versions later down the road and charge triple for that version.
  5. Good grief, another "punching on the walls of reality" deus ex plot device. Next thing you know Superman passing gas can alter reality also.

  8. According to this Dan Aykroyd states that filming for Ghostbusters 3 will start in 2012 and seems to imply that it will proceed regardless if Bill Murray decides to sign on or not.
  9. Didn't see a post of this, but here's a deleted scene that's supposed to be in the blu-ray and DVD release of X-Men 1st Class.
  10. There was another story in a Star Wars Tale comic similar to your idea. It's were a pair of slave children sneak off to a cave to visit someone they call the storyteller, a busted up, damaged, and some-what still functional C3PO. He tells the Star Wars tale to them. As C3PO finishes the story, a bunch of slavers burst into the cave. The oldest one hides the younger one behind a rock, and the slavers blast both C3PO and older child. The younger one comes out of hiding, seeing the carnage, and sees something sticking out of C3PO. The panel ends with him holding a lightsaber.

The Marvel marketing team were probably going under the assumption that they were going to be absored into the Disney marketing team. However, as Dreamweaver said, it seems they pretty much pissed both sides off. So instead of being offered a position they got the boot.
  12. Lost, as much as I tried to get into this series I just could'nt. I've borrowed DVD sets from friends but kept them on a coffee table vs watching them on a DVD player, and then handing them back after a week or so. Giving generic answers and replies when questioned about what I thought about watching them.

Babylon 5 and Farscape, I have not seen a single episode from these series and really couldn't tell you anything about 'em aside from what I've heard from friends and wiki entries. All I know is that they take place in outspace and that's about as far as my knowledge goes.

New Battlestar Galactica series. Seen bits and pieces of episodes and I still have Season 1, still shrink wrapped, sitting on a shelf, collecting dust. I'll get around to watching it... someday.

    -Edit-

Firefly, another sci-fi series I haven't seen. Mostly because from the tv ads I saw it just screamed Cowboy Bebop clone to me.

One thing that was pointed out to me about this episode, and something that I didn't know. Was that the modern mythos for Mr. Freeze was taken from this episode. Before then he was just some guy with a freeze gun. I'd always assumed that the Batman TAS origin of Mr. Freeze was from the comics, and not something created for the show.

Favorite quote from this episode "Old and infirm as you are, I'd trade a thousand of my frozen years for your worst day."

"They're finny and funny and oh so delish. They're joyful and jolly. Jokerfish!'

So many things about this episode make it the all time best in my book. The ending to this episode were Catwoman says "Almost got 'im" was a nice touch. Another different take on Joker's "more than one way to get someone" line.
  14. It makes sense to me, and don't see it as any kind of sign that trouble is headed towards Marvel and Disney. As stated by others. Why have 2 departments that essentially do the same thing? One of them has to go.

The Joker chases him down and states he owes him a favor down the road.

Well the end of the episode has the little guy threatening Joker with his own bomb while the perverbial trickster is howling for Batman to come save him. I won't ruin the final punchline, but it was one I will never forget.
I think the name of the episode was Joker's Favor
  16. Great list, happy to see that "Almost Got 'im" get the number one spot. Was expecting to see the episode in this list, and was surprised to see it get number one. Agree with most of the choices except for '"The Edge" probably because of the cop out ending.

Here's a list of other favorite episodes that I would put in a runner-up list

    Paging the Crime Doctor

    A Bullet for Bullock

    Avatar

    Harlequinade

    Showdown

    Harley's Holiday

    Beware the Creeper
  17. Count me as one against this idea. The whole purpose of not dying in the tutorial is so players can focus more on getting a feel for the game. If anything the "I win" button concept you want to introduce will only encourage sloppy and reckless play styles, discourage people from learning anything about playing CoH, and just cause more grief than it's worth. Overall this is a bad idea, and I'm glad that devs have not, and never will, introduce this feature into the game.

As to the previous GR film, it blended nicely elements from the 60's, 70's and 90's GR comics, the main flaw wasn't Nic Cage, but rather that they went for PG 13 rating. This....is....GHOST RIDER......not Spiderman or Superman. Ghost Rider is not a character for comic fans of all ages. the first movie should have amped up the fights, dumped some of the jokes and went for the R rating. I still like the first movie though despite that.
I noticed that instead of the typical Marvel logo in the trailer. Saw the Marvel Knights logo being used. So who knows, maybe in a few years might see some Marvel characters brought into movies under the Marvel Max logo.

  21. Congrats devs you made tailor locations obsolete and turned all the trainers into glorified tailors and seamstresses.

This is what I feel Zwillinger meant when he posted about no more name purges. Part of CoH Freedom is to lure back former players into the game. Makes no sense to wipe out the names on inactive accounts, invite people to come back, and have to deal with upset customers asking why the names to their characters are gone.

Well at least Paragon Studios isn't going to do what SOE did when they did a server merge on DC Universe Online.

As much as I would love to see it, I highly doubt that a feature like this will be in for the launch of CoH: Freedom or even in any upcomign issues post CoH: Freedom. Seeing as Freedom is in open beta right now, or VIP beta as the devs like to call it , and a change like this isn't even in it. I just don't see it happening in the forseeable future for this game. Then again, the devs still might have a trick or two up their sleeves, but I honestly think the content we have in beta is the content that will go live when CoH: Freedom launches.
