Does Power Boost increase only the -movement part of the slows from Ice Control, or does it also boost the -recharge?

    Char in 5 slots?

Considering I'll have 27% or 30% global acc in my build, then, I should probably go with my original slotting, since either way my accuracy will be out the roof and my slotting has 96% hold.

But, I'll definitely think about your slotting.

As an aside, which is more important on Drain Psyche? Healing or Endurance Mod? My acc and recharge and heal are very high, but my endmod is only 42%. Considering I have Power Sink also, will that be sufficient for EndMod?

    Thanks,

    Lewis

    Char in 5 slots?

    All,

    SHORT VERSION:

What is the best, stat-wise, you can come up with in 5 slots at level 50 for Char, without using Purples, and preferably without Hami-Os? I can get 75/54/93/93 a/e/r/h or else I can get 85/39/80/96 a/e/r/h. Is there a better option I'm overlooking?

    RAMBLING BACKSTORY VERSION:

I have a somewhat tight respec I'm trying to do. I have a level 50 Fire/Psy that I am re-working. Unlike most, mine was never perma-Dom, and in fact he doesnt have ANY global recharge on him. He is just all frankenslotty. Nothing special.

Still, since the nerf/fix to Psychic Shockwave, I have found him to be fairly crappy at the single target killing. By which I mean that Psy Shockwave, being over-powered, did enough damage that it was as good on a single target as a group, so I just alternated it with Mind Probe and Subdue on single targets.

Now that Psy Shockwave is Nerfed / Fixed, I need better single target damage, and I've decided to give up on his AoE emphasis since it sucks by comparison now. The set is clearly no longer designed to be a good AoE set, despite Psychic Scream being better (I already had it and used it).

So, he did have the concept of burning you Mind (Psychic AoEs), Body (Hot Feet), and Soul (Ball Lightning) but Ball Lightning always sucked and Psy Shockwave can't be single target filler now. So, I'm dropping Ball Lightning and reworking my Mu powers.

In doing so, my build is EXTREMELY tight and I have to decide between 2 slots in hasten, or 3 slots in hasten and only 5 in Char.

I think I can get some pretty good numbers out of just 5 slots in Char.

    Lockdown Acc/Hold 50
    Lockdown Acc/End/Rech/Hold 50
    Lockdown End/Rech/Hold 50
    Ghost Widow Acc/Hold/Rech
    EoCurare Acc/Hold/Rech 50

That gives me 85% accuracy, 39% endurance reduction, 80% recharge, 96% hold. Basically my rech time is 4.42 seconds and my hold duration is 35.5 seconds. My accuracy is 167% and my end cost is 6.1 endurance. Actually with the Lockdown set bonus for 3 set IOs, my Hold Duration is 36.3 seconds.

Now, if I replace the Lockdown Acc/Hold with a Basilisk's Gaze Acc/End/Rech/Hold level 30, which I havent checked but I suspect is extremely expensive, I could get 75% acc, 54% end reduction, 93% recharge, and 93% hold. Basically, my accuracy would drop to 158%, and my hold would drop to only 34.5 seconds, but my recharge would improve to 4.1 seconds (not a lot), and my endurance reduction would be better so using Char would only cost me 5.5 endurance.

So, I am THINKING I prefer the original one, with the 3 Lockdowns, but I am tempted by the somewhat lower endurance cost of the Basilisk Gaze version.

Or can you come up with a better slotting in 3 slots? I prefer no Purples or Hami-Os.

    Thanks,

    Lewis

Density Control was morphed into Kinetics.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Kinetics was listed also. Though I guess since these are single powers and not sets, then sure, it became Increase Density.

Man you guys are just party poopers. Let your imagination run free, dig?

    Lewis
  5. Well, Gravity control was already in there, so density control didnt become gravity control, as far as I can tell.

Still, seeing the names makes me wish we had more.

    Lewis
  6. None have done the AE mission. All are different accounts on different computers.

    Lewis
  7. Wow. Watching the second vid, I notice there were some cool power sets such as:

    Super Intelligence
    Super Willpower
    Super Personality
    DARKNESS CONTROL
    DENSITY CONTROL
    ELECTRICITY CONTROL
    AIR CONTROL
    LIGHT CONTROL
    Paralysis
    Shape Shifting
    Kinetic Control (prob just /Kin)
    Sonic Control (prob just /Sonic)
    Super Vision
    Radiation Control (prob just /Rad)

The CONTROLLER in me is crying, and wants the other control sets ASAP. Let's get cracking, Devs.

    Lewis
  8. Listening to the audio of that first link, it does seem they scrapped a hit location system and a fame system. So, there have been some losses. Interesting.

    Lewis
  9. Energy Melee
    Electric Blast
    Martial Arts
    Devices
Gravity Control (only prior to level 31, from there it is adequate)

Question: Is the character who gets more tickets the one who initially aggros the mobs?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I do not believe so. My 2 follower characters do have Char on auto, so it is remotely possible that he is the one aggroing every time, but only remotely.

Otherwise, I have no AE day job stuff on any of the characters. Also, I never hit the cap on any of my guys. 2 of my characters get about 450 or so per map, but the one gets about 1400-1450 each mission.

It is weird. Well, it is somewhat comforting to know I'm not the only one. I'm going to pretend that one of my characters is getting an accidental bonus of 3x, because the only other way to think of it is that 2 of my characters are getting a 1/3 penalty.

    Lewis
  11. Well currently, my HIGHER level character is getting 3 times as many tickets as my lower level ones. The level difference is only 1 between them though. I think this must be a bug. I'll bug it tomorrow, but I've done 15 AE maps in a row and every time (even with client restarts) this one guy is getting 3x the tickets. Freaky.

    Lewis

You do realize computerized random number generators aren't really random right?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yes I am aware. I have tried this twice now and no change. So, I've run 9 missions and one guy is getting approximately 3x every time. Weird.

    Lewis
  13. No, this is consistent. Over the last 7 maps, one character is getting 3x the tickets, every time. This way dwarf any minor variations.

    Lewis
  14. All,

I am 3-boxing (running all 3 of my accounts) on some AE maps, and I'm getting a large discrepancy in the number of tickets each of my characters is getting. Two of my characters are getting about 300-400 tickets for some of the missions, but one of my charactes is getting 900-1200 tickets on the same mission.

The characters are all roughly in the same level range (35-37) while I've been observing this. The team leader character is one of the 2 lower level ones, and they character getting 3x the tickets is the high level guy.

None of them are in SG mode. All of them are doing about the same damage (3 fire dominators).

What gives? Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm still capped at 1500 (my 3x guy has hit the cap once or twice in a mission) but its sorta irritating. I'm not sure if he is getting too much or if the others are getting too little.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Lewis

Earth's Embrace is almost certainly the utility power. Nothing else would get the 'tankish' feel Sunstorm mentioned without being a shield.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hope you are right but that could easily be you filling in the blanks. We dont know what makes Sunstorm feel tankish. Foot Stomp and Whirling Hands and Hand Clap and Fault make me feel tankish, heck even having a high percentage of melee, or having the stone hammers, or some earth shake would make me personally "feel" tankish.

So, we can't really know, since we don't know Sunstorm's personal quirks.

I would certainly like EE though!

DETENTION FIELD WILL BE BRIGHT RED.

    That is all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's the best idea I've seen. It makes me wonder if Dimension Shift, which makes the foe purple, also has a color around them. I might tint that also, if its possible.

Otherwise, here are some things I may do:

    * Make the /Fire powers on my Gravity/Fire Dom white instead of red.

Make the /Psy powers on my Ice/Psy Dom blue instead of pink (to match the ice powers).

    * Give all characters with Electric powers a yellow effect (or white in some cases).

    * Make all my Fire/Storm controller's /Storm effects RED including Freezing Rain and the Lightning Storm. And maybe even the Tornado.

    * Make my Fire/Force Field controller's bubbles into a red/orange that matches his fire powers.

    * Make my Inv/Fire tanker's Fire powers into an intense white. He is Divine Blade after all!

    * Make my Illusion/Rad controller's radiation powers into a white color. I might do the same for my Gravity/Rad.

    * Make my Fire/Dark scrapper's Fire effects into a black or purple effect, depending on how it looks.

    * Make my Fire/Emp controller's empathy powers red.

    * Make my Storm/Psychic defender's Psy powers into a white color.

    That should do for starters.

    Lewis
  17. Yeah I've always wished there were some good Warrior arcs in the game. They have a kinda cool background, but no exciting stories. They are just sort of a forgotten group, more or less.

    Lewis
  18. Will it work on city maps? I hope so. I have the vidiot map plugin so I can see where explore badges are (seems like they havent done an update in forever?) and on some zones, you can see the badges even when you havent ever been in the map. However, for some zones such as Faultline and Dark Astoria, its hard to see the little vidiotmap icon if you have city map fog of war.

So, I'd love this for doing explore badges!

Of course, having a map with explore badges on it isnt part of the official client, so I understand if the reveal power doesnt happen to work on city maps. I'm just hoping I get lucky on this.

Lewis... Did you actually read the post?

    We are talking about Steelclaw!!!

I got cramps from laughing on this!

Sure. I'm just having fun too. I realize not everyone likes ketchup on their ice cream. I'm one of the weird ones.

    Lewis
  20. So, on one of the few times when everyone is happy and everything is looking positive, you want a negative reaction?

I can handle that for you.

Why is it that when things go well, somebody has to start a thread with a back-handed insult against anyone who ever had a concern in the past, as if any previous worries or complaints were entirely rabid and unreasonable? Isn't insulting the imaginary opposition also in and of itself a negative thing? Didn't your own actions actually get the negativity started in the first place? But of course, the thread is filled funny stuff, so any actual pessimism on the part of the OP is apparently justified.

Not that I feel that way myself, but I just wanted to hook you up. Enjoy.

    Lewis
  21. That looks better. Its nice to see actual slots in Alkaloid. My only real complaint is that your Gang War has no recharge in it, but I can see why you did it. Also, its too bad you dont have one more recharge in Noxious gas.

Still, it looks a lot better, and if its working for you, that is what matters!

If we had a team search option that showed all the PUGs that currently need members it would be incredible easy to get a team rolling.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm all for new options, but I do have to say, we need to make sure teams really "need" members. I would hate it if my happy team of 4 or 2 or 6 could be found and solicited out of the blue, unless I have the ability to turn off your ability to find our team. That is because, personally, I am not one of those people who simply has to get on the most bloated size of team possible. I cannot count how many times I've got on a great little team of 3 or 4 and one of them insists over and over that we get more people until we hit the max of 8.

As long as I can hide from you, in case I dont "need" you, and specifically, in case I'm not open to trivial unsolicited perusal of team size, then I'm cool.

It is already irritating enough that can someone can just click on you and see your team size.

    So, /Cold

I said it doesnt work conceptually for me. It still doesnt. One can certainly justify any combo conceptually, but they dont all work for everyone.

"I got injected by psychic nano-bots that allow me to generate illusions and cold powers!" ... easy enough.

The combo just isnt for me.

    Lewis
  24. It figures it'd be the mastermind "cool, check this out thread" that would have the blatant spelling error in the title.

Theram? Really? Someone was in a hurry to be first.

Anyway, I'm totally looking forward to Necro/Thermal. I've wanted to set my own undead on fire since, like, forever. Well, at the very least, since I was 14 years old.

EDIT: specifically, I've been wanting to do this since L1 - The Secret of Bone Hill.

    Lewis
  25. I will definitely be rolling a Fire/Earth Dom and an Earth/Earth Dom.
