Okay.. looking at the stuff I'd like to get to this week, just in case anyone else wants to come along for the ride...

Hmm. Monday is out for fantasy football league draft. Tuesday is Tanker Tuesday, so of course I'll be occupied there. After that though... lets see.. things to get to...

1- Sewer Trial. Lvl 36-40. Timed, runs 90 min max. Good time, can be crazy fun.
2- Eden Trial. Lvl 39-41. Usually run this in under 90 min. Also a crazy fun time.
3- Positron TF. Lvl 10-15. Looking to run a 3-4 man team. Been averaging just a tick over 2 hours on these. Semi-speed run depending on personnel.
4- Freakspec. Lvl 34-43. Also figure around 90 min for this.
5- Kahn TF. Lvl 45+. Still have to run this with a few characters. Lots of good-time Natzi beatdown action.

So, if anyone is up for anything, I usually throw announcements out in chat channels. This will be evenings, usually after 5:30ish pacific time.

I run stuff all the time. I've got a handful of toons in the 35-40 range, so its Numina and Sewer Trial and Eden Trial, with occasional respecs thrown in for fun. I'll be getting into ITFs and STFs and LGTFs and running that Kahn thing (do we call that the KTF?)

I've also got 2 guys at 20 who havent run anything yet, so that means Posi and Synapse and Sister P and Hess and Moonfire and Citadel and Manticore... I usually toss out announcements, and manage to get a team built up and running. Its good times.

I want a Sky Raider Arch-Villain/Giant Monster. A huge ridiculously over-powered flying aircraft carrier (similar to Recluse's flier or the SHIELD Helicarrier, except about 8 million times more bad@$$). I want it to just drop out of the sky at random intervals, and proceed to just blow the crap out of stuff until a bunch of heroes band together to fight it off.

I want a creepy little Arch-Villain called the Re-Animator who goes around the city bringing the giant statues to life, reanimating them for nefarious purposes. The statues should be like GMs times about 100, requiring massive large scale cooperation to take down. Make them difficult, hell, make them insanely difficult, and completely random. It would be fun as hell to fight a gigantic Atlas, or M1, or Galaxy Girl. And when you've stopped a certain amount of them, you gain access to a special task force to go tackle the Re-Animator guy.

Oh, and I'm still waiting for my fez hat costume part dammit.

All my sympathy to you and yours Zubs. Losing a pet, especially so unexpectedly, is just devastating. My first pet that was all mine, that I didn't share with brothers and sisters or anybody else, was my mastiff. I had him before I got married, before my kids came along. I knew that his lifespan was limited, and it still just wrecked me when he died. It took almost two years before I could even think about getting another dog, until my wife and kids convinced me that we all needed one. All my condolences on your loss, and have a drink (or 5) on me.

When you get a random "love your bio" or "love your costume" tell. Or seeing someone else's costume or bio that is just plain awesome. Hard work put into a toon should always be respected.

My pet peeve is people who think that you have to have certain types on a team to make it work. Now I get if you're trying to run a MoSTF, or do a specific speed run or something like that. You have certain requirements for what you want on the team. I'm cool with that. I'm talking about when someone is putting together a TF or a trial or something, and they're constantly broadcasting trying to get people to join, and so you say "sure I'm in" and they ask what you're bringing, and you tell them, and they say "no, we don't need that."

That just annoys the **** out of me. I run TFs and trials all the time, and I really don't care what people bring. It doesn't matter to me, we'll find a way to make it work. Most of the team makeups I end up with are terribly goofy. But, who cares? Its fun getting there and figuring it out as you go. So to all those people who spam for people to join their stuff, then turn you down when you're not the "proper" AT.... get bent. That is all.

Grats guys! Very well done, and a model of consistency. Its always fun to know exactly who you're going to have there to run with. My question is.. did you all ding at exactly the same time? or was it staggered out? Cuz 8 simultaneous 50 dings would make a hell of a screenshot..

I really don't see the point of the aggro cap myself. I never cared much for it. I thought it was rather silly.

I never really got into herding as a tool for any practical reason. Could I do it? Sure. It wasn't a problem. Was it really much fun doing it? Hell no. For the most part, its a fairly dull and lame playstyle (unless you're using it for any of the nefarious purposes which led to the negative connotation of the word).

BUT, it does have its moments. Like herding the entire crystal titan room in the Eden trial. Now that was just plain insane madness and I miss it noticeably every time I run that trial now. I miss herding hundreds upon hundreds of Rikti monkeys out on monkey island in PI, having them stacked so deep and piled so high that my screen would almost freeze. That was just plain fun, and I miss fun little things like that.

Is herding beyond the 17 aggro cap a game breaking thing? Nope. Its just one of those little things, like a goofy talent that you show off at parties when you've had a little too much to drink. Nothing serious, but a nice little quality of life improvement. I'd vote for dropping the aggro cap (mostly because I'd want to try herding the entire final mission of the ITF up onto the platform in front of Romulus and just have an insano deathfest... but thats just me)

All tanks are fun! I have almost as many tanks as all the other ATs put together. By far and away my favorite thing to play. Pull as many baddies into one place as you can, and just start chipping away at all of them. I love running them in big crazy team situations, but I also solo them a lot of the time. Its a different kind of playstyle from some of the other ATs, but one that I absolutely love.

My tanks are:

Invul/SS- Still my favorite set by far. Does everything well.
Ice/EM- Very fun to play. Ice is def-based and much more fly by the seat of your pants
Stone/Mace- Just a rock. Yes, granite is great, but I rarely need to use it. I like the various stone armors a lot.
Invul/EM- I liked Invul and EM so much, I had to make em twice
WP/Axe- WP is very solid and consistent. Axe makes a good mitigator with all the knockdown
Fire/Dark- Very surprised at how much I enjoy this one. The two sets stack nicely for all kinds of wicked effects
Shield/Stone- Still a wee one, but enjoying it so far. Shield has been better than I thought
Dark/Ice- Also a wee one, but coming along nicely. A very interesting combination

I would say, find an idea or concept you like, and roll a toon to match it. Its hard to go wrong with a tank.
