Dinged 50 with Asp's Fangs, my DB/WP scrapper. Now on to my Dark/Ice tanker.

Good Citadel run last night. We finished in 1:07. 4 tanks, 2 scrappers, 1 blaster, and 1 def. Very fun. Lots of carnage and chaos and wannabe natzis in caves.

#3- When your hair starts going gray. And I'm not talking the stuff on your head.

I will be there! and then I'm taking the rest of the week off for vacation...

My Inv/EM tanker has nothing but common IOs. No sets or bonuses of any kind. He's tanked every single TF and Trial in the game. You don't have to spend out the @$$ to be "tough".

Fun run last night. 8 man Posi, finished in 2:22. Much dinging all across the board. Got my Shield/Stone Tanker from 33 to 35. Good times.
-
Fun TT as always. Got a full 8 tank Manticore team off and running, and we had another 7 tank team of mostly teens and 20s who ran through the Midnight Club arc. Much smiting, much dinging, and one epic teamwipe (that one was my fault... lol). A relatively small turnout overall, but still a very good time.

Dinged 50 with Winterking, my Cold/Ice def over the weekend. Only the second def I've ever had who made it out of their 20's. Now on to Boomboxx, my sonic/EM blaster. Whee!

I'll be there. We'll make sure everyone gets off and running as always.

I got an invite, but I don't do testing. So its just sitting in my mailbox, unanswered. Such a tragedy.

Ultra mode?? No one consulted me!! I'm suing!!!

I would second the recommendation to visit one of the Tanker Tuesday nights. Its a great chance to get to see up close how various powersets work, and to ask any questions you might have about things. We Tanker types are generally more than happy to expound upon the goodness of tanking.
As for finding Tankers boring, or slow, or lacking in damage, I suppose its just a matter of personal taste. Tankers do start out pretty slow and are heavy on the end usage. Most sets are loaded pretty heavily on the back end. Getting up to 20 or so can be difficult if you're not accustomed to how Tanker sets work, but once you get some Stamina going, and then get into your first SOs, things pick up in a hurry. If you can have a little patience, the payoff is absolutely worth it. -
Good fun running the Hess TF. There was much stomping. Though I still want to fight the damn megamech....

All-Tanker TFs are never about speed, though dont get me wrong, you will get some nice steamrolling going. They are mostly about smash, with a side order of smash, with a great big extra helping of smash on top of that.

I'll take a spot on that Jag. I've got a little of everything AT-wise, so just let me know what we can most use when the time comes, and I'll bring someone along for it.
-
None. The other side couldn't handle that much sheer damn tankiness.

Concept is king, at least in my book. I have an Ice/EM tanker, and an Inv/EM tanker, and they both still kick ***. Screw all the whining and ******** that people do about EM. If you want to use it, then use it.

Dinged my Fire/Dark tanker Hell-Knight over the weekend. On to the slow torture of levelling my Cold/Ice defender...

Reason number one why all my new toons go to Galaxy City first. I like being the only one there. Though it does only add about a 30 second delay to the inevitable blind SG invite.

I ended up here mostly through sheer randomness. My daughter was born 2 weeks before CoH released, and would hardly sleep at all unless she was held so she was vertical instead of laying down. So, once I got the game, I spent many a long night wandering around through Paragon City with her strapped to my chest so she'd sleep. I picked Champion because I just liked the sound of it, seemed less pretentious than all the other names. I met a few great people, got in with some good crowds, met some more great people and I've pretty much been here ever since.

I met my wife through a mutual friend. Saw her at a New Year's Eve party for the very first time. Floored me, straight out. Reminded me of Maureen O'Hara, drop dead gorgeous, fiery redhead, bold and brash. Of course, she pretty much hated me at first sight and considered me to be something of a boorish oaf (which I can't really argue with) based mostly on stories she'd heard from people we knew. (All lies!!) But, I was pretty well smitten.
So, I kept asking her out, and she kept shooting me down, over and over and over. It was fairly brutal, but I am nothing if not stupidly stubborn. So I kept at it, and eventually she got to see some of my better qualities. After months, when I was at the point of finally just letting it go and admitting that this woman was NEVER going to go out with me, she surprised me by saying yes. We went to this great old classic movie theater down near Hollywood and saw Philadelphia Story and the Quiet Man (she'd never seen either) and then took a long drive over Mulholland down to the beach.
She wasn't quite sold on me completely, but I knew. I was in for the long haul from that point on. She likes to say I just wore her down, but I know it was my sheer damn awesomeness that won her over in the end.. hehe. I've been the luckiest man alive for almost 8 years now, and she's been putting up with me for all that time, so life is good.
