  1. Oddly enough they throttle the amount of points you can buy. I tried to buy another point pack for 100 dollars and it won't let me saying you can only buy X amount of this code per household...

    Whats the deal with that?
  2. GM got back to me and its been resolved!

    Thanks.
  3. Its a bug I don't have the PVP attributes enabled I just checked on another character that had Tough.
  4. From Patch Notes:

The first and second tier powers in Fighting, Concealment, Leadership, Presence and Medicine are now available at level 4 instead of 6.

Am I reading this incorrectly but shouldn't Tough be available at level 4? Do you still need to pick Kick or the Punch?

Also, did they change tough? The detailed information now says it gives 11.25% resistance to *ALL* damage... That seems better then a lot of toggles in Defensive sets.
  5. Well I installed the new memory, I deleted my hard drive and installed Windows 7 64-Bit...

    And what happened?

THE CRASHING HAS STOPPED! PROBLEM SOLVED!

Yep no more crashing played many hours yesterday with no problems.
  6. No response yet from a GM. Just wanted to update. This really sucks I want to buy more things in the store, I wish a redname would at least acknowledge this.
  7. I want to buy some more stuff but sadly I am waiting a response from a GM regarding my Barbarian Pack. I bought it, it took my points, yet its still locked
  8. So there is no way to copy the graphic settings? I suppose I will have to write them down by hand...

I seriously doubt you'd want to try and re-write the micro-code stored on the CPU.

City of Heroes does not save any information to your computer except costumes, AE missions, and the order of your login screen characters.

If you want to preserve these particular items the location will change depending on your operating system and installation method:

    C:\Program Files\CoH\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\CoH\

    C:\Program Files\City of Heroes\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\

    C:\Program Files\NCSoft\CoH\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\CoH\

    C:\Program Files\NCSoft\City of Heroes\
    C:\Program Files (x86)\NCSoft\City of Heroes\

The folders in these locations won't change. Just grab
    • costumes
    • Custom-Critter
    • CustomVillainGroup
    • Missions
    • PowerCust
    • screenshots
    • and any folders with your login name that you want to keep.
It has to save your graphics settings. Thats what I am looking to preserve.
  10. What file would I need to make a copy of (Just going to email myself, don't have a flash disk) to preserve my settings?

I'd recommend getting the 4ns stuff as opposed to cheaper 5-6ns stuff. The price difference is less than $10, and you'd see a small degradation in memory performance if you went with stuff that had 5-6ns timings.
In that PM you sent I clicked the link but don't see any Corsair brand?

So ask for DDR2 800Mhz. If you are unsure of what the person hands you, look for PC2-6400 on the packaging (it normally gets hidden amongst the item description). As long as that it there, you are golden.

    So remember 2 sticks of 2GB DDR2 800Mhz ram.

I just hope that someone can also post, as i have had a few to drink, and would like some reassurance on all of this as well (Yeah, i have built all of my own PC's and i still like reassurance sometimes)
Thanks you are being very helpful so far.

My last question is, so these 2 sticks of 2 GB DDR2 800 MHZ Ram will be compatible with my current RAM?
  14. And my follow up question:

If I walk into the store, what kind of memory should I pick up? Basically, I want to be able to tell the guy "My CPU can use XXX memory, which ones can I choose from?" I plan to go get it tonight.

Did that and haven't gotten a response yet in over 24 hours... so I am working things out this way.
  16. How do I find out what motherboard I have? I had the old one on this CPU I believe replaced and got another one upgraded for free.
  17. I am trying to figure out if the store shafted me on the Barbarian Costume pack or not. I am going through my points spent but I need to know the amount of storage a level 1 character can have given these requirements:

    1) I am Tier 9 VIP, I have all of the bonus storage.

    2) I have purchased Recipe and Auction and Salvage storage increases. I am not sure how many though....

What is the base amount of storage in the AH and Salvage / Recipe?

A Level 1 character of mine has 68 Salvage Storage, 36 Recipes, and 32 auction spaces. I am fairly confident I bought the same number of Recipe/Salvage increases and that the amount of auction increases I bought was less then the Recipe/Salvage increases. (IE if I bought 3 of each of the recipe / salvage I would have bought only 1 auction)
  18. Ok this brings my total to 20,950 points. Two purchases of 8000 with the bonus of 1600 points so 9600 X 2 + 400, 400, 400, 400, 150 which is 1750.

Ok so I am currently sitting on 750 unspent points:

    I've purchased:

    Backpack -- 80

    Beam Rifle -- 640

    Barbarian Set -- 400

    Character Transfers -- 480

    Rocket Board -- 600

    Rename Token -- 800

    Enhancement Increase -- 1600 X 2

    Recipe Increase -- 800 X 6

    Auction Increase -- 800 X 4

    Salvage Increase -- 800 X 6

    Tailor Costume Slots -- 800 X 5

Hmm given my math I must be missing something I purchased.

    Found it:

    But its still off...
  19. Ok I found the RAM I have its according to this old receipt...

    TWIN2X4096 - 6400C4DHX
    TWIN2X4096 - 6400C4DHX
    (2X2GB) CAS LATENCY 4 . 4 .
    DOMINATOR HEATSINK

    TWIN2X4096 - 6400C4DHX

This is what the receipt says.
  20. Pretty much this is a gaming computer thus an installation and memory wipe won't bother me.

    1) All of my pictures I keep on my Facebook.

    2) All of my music is kept on my IPHONE or I have a separate CPU for that.

    3) I don't download anything to this CPU and if I do I generally delete it ASAP. Mostly because I don't run Virus scan and I go to very limited websites on this CPU. If I do have to browse foreign places, I use my IPHONE.

Ok my question is, if I go down to Fry's Electronics and buy Windows 7. Do they just give me a disk and I just put that into the CPU and it will install itself after a few clicks and format everything? Is it that simple? Do I need a disk with all the drivers for my hardware such as the motherboard, or processor whatever?

Keep to the lowest number of memory sticks you can while maximizing your number of channels. Example: If you have dual channel, try to use only 2 sticks. If you have triple channel, try only using 3 sticks. The more sticks you use, the less stable the memory can be.
I am not sure what dual channel or triple channel means? Can you say that in layman terms?

I am also looking to go to at least 8 gig ram maybe 10 gig. How do I know what RAM is currently in my CPU?

I stand corrected, I was looking at Transaction history which listed my purchased points. There is also a microtransaction history which lists those other points.

Right but that doesn't show how many points we started with only points purchased. How many did we start with? and did Tier 9 people get an extra 150 a month?

Ok its not showing up there... but I am fairly confident it took my points.

How many points did we start out with again? Did T9 vets get the additional 150 each month?
  24. Ok so I am going to upgrade sometime in the week. Problem is I am a CPU novice when it comes to certain things and I've never done a reformat or my own installation. On top of that, I am not sure if all my hardware is compatible with 64-bit. (Personally, I would guess with about 90% certainty it is).

What is the best RAM for gaming? How do I know what kind of ram I am using?

How hard is it to install your own OS and do a reformat if you never done one before?
