I am not a Dominator expert but why pick Psi over Fire Assault for farming? Seems like the FE and the AOE's would help a lot..
-
I am still wondering why isn't there a forum directly related to this. Imagine a forum dedicated where a person could post feedback on items they bought, post ideas for new items in the store they'd like to see (How about buying 100 points for increased character biography space...), questions on the store, etc.
This seems like a no brainer yet instead we get a forum for "builds" which is pretty redundant since we have the AT forums... -
The redside contact has been up for at least 5 days now.

Are GM's able to fix this for you?

Quote:Hmm can you explain this? The first tick requires an accuracy check?
My understanding is that slotted accuracy will help with the initial hit of the power, but will not help the pseudo pet it spawn
Edit: Hmm I haven't used it since issue 7, it now has a big damage front loaded attack? What is the new damage? The in game description just says it does 13 ticks... -
Interesting seems kind of like an unneeded extra forum.

If you happen to have this I'd be interested in purchasing it. If you have hero or villain merits we can talk before you convert for it too.
I can offer pretty much whatever you need influence wise but please nothing astronomically overpriced.
Send a tell to @Ultimus or leave a post here. -
1) Does it need Accuracy?
2) When slotted with a proc assuming each "tick" has its own accuracy check, is only the first tick checked for the chance of a proc? Meaning if the first tick misses, can one of the other ticks trigger a proc?
3) Is the proc only one per burn? Does each enemy receive their own proc chance or does it do one roll?
4) Is it good as part of a single target DPS chain rotation? -
How long does this proc last for when applied? And is the duration shorter against higher level opponents?
-
How rare is this recipe? I have 10 hero merits saved up and wondering if its better to spend those merits and try and buy this recipe from someone else or to save because I'd have better luck with it?
Note: I am specifically speaking of the level 10 recipe not any other variation. -
Quote:So not to go off topic, please share what your thoughts on the SR passives are? Or just PM me, I am curious. I never play the set I am just curious.I'm not sure they did that directly on purpose, but I would have. My own philosophy on game design is to give people all the numbers, and then make them impossible to min/max around without a supercomputer and a PhD in game theory. You'd be surprised how easy that is to do: there is *still* no general consensus as to just how strong the SR passives are, my own analysis on the subject notwithstanding.
To me, that's brilliant. Not deliberately so in that case, but still brilliant. -
I am looking at Paragon Wiki and trying to figure this out... how are people soft capping s/l defense solely on IO's? I've seen several people claim this while having a secondary with no S/L defense...
-
What about when fighting higher level mobs? Would 4 cover that? Like if you fought +4's...
-
For characters that have no access to Knockback protection, how many points of protection do you need to be protected from 90% of the KB in the game? Just curious how many IO's I'd need to buy.

Quote:As I stated clearly in the original post, this post is about min / maxing. Therefore:No. He did not give any reasoning as to why it's better for Scrappers than it is for Brutes aside from basically saying that Brutes have a better option in Super Strength, (duh). Aside from that, he said that Brutes would likely take Gloom that cuts into their combo system, (solved by not taking Gloom), and that Fiery Embrace doesn't work correctly with Street Justice, (not sure about that, but this would be an issue for /FA Scrappers as well, wouldn't it?).
Relatively speaking, it may be a great set for Scrappers but not AS great for Brutes for some of these reasons, but that does not necessarily mean it will perform better with a Scrapper than it does with a Brute. And once again, because combo damage does not enhance critical damage, (at least from everything I've heard), it would seem to actually get more benefit on a Brute than it does on a Scrapper, leaving Gloom aside.
1) If you are min / maxing single target DPS as a Brute you take Gloom. Its one of the highest single target DPS power in the game.
2) Once again if you are min / maxing DPS in general on a Brute you take Fiery Aura.
3) It doesn't effect Scrappers because Scrappers get more of a DPS benefit by going with Shields over Fiery Aura. The reason being Scrappers get a higher bonus modifier then Brutes which effects any damage buff they receive. (this is not their base damage modifier but the modifier that effects the strength of powers like buildup, etc) -
Quote:Ok how about this, my post is about min / maxing. As a Brute you will go Fiery Aura to min/max your DPS.No, it doesn't have the weakest aoe of all melee sets. It has better aoe than almost any other melee set while maintaining incredibly strong single target. Here, let's play a game. You name the set that you think has better aoe, and we'll go from there.
The Street Justice AOE's only gain a 25% damage buff compared to EVERY OTHER SET gaining a 45% damage buff (And thats total damage buff after enhancements or damage value). -
Quote:Yes reason I use Brawl Index is because I have every single brawl index memorized and I know all of the brawls for every AT. Thus, I can calculate it off the top of my head.Brawl Index? What is this, Issue 6?
Also, being a higher level does not shorten the duration of -res (it makes the -res less effective).
From what you're saying, it sounds more like Super Strength is totally out of whack than there being any issue with StJ on Brutes. -
Quote:Because it lacks secondary effects and has the weakest AOE of all the melee sets? It also has no exotic damage... I can make a list if you are really interested.Everything else aside, Ultimus, why exactly does street justice have to be the best single target dps set for brutes, scrappers and presumably also stalkers and tankers? I'm not convinced that it is the best ST set for scrappers in the first place, but if it were, why does that mean it should be identical for everyone else? Scrappers don't even have the same sets to choose from as the other melee ATs.

If I really really was upset, I would charge back the point purchase, I know credit cards will back the customer on this over the game company, I did it before to another company that did tick me off to that point.
But it does create a bit of a mess. -

Quote:No because what makes Brutes generally better in most cases then Scrappers is having powersets with much larger brawl indexes then Scrapper sets. IE most Brute sets have brawl indexes of 4.5556 with an extreme attack of 9.889.Wouldn't it be better on Brutes?
Considering the combo system gains full benefit from Fury but no benefit from criticals, it seems like a no brainer from a min/max viewpoint.
Half of an inherent is less than a full inherent.
Originally, the highest damage Scrapper attacks were 6.333 brawl index maxing out at a 12.666 critical which was the same brawl as Energy Transfer (The highest single target damage attack in game with no criticals... excluding Assassin Strike).
Like Super Strength breaks the "mold" for Brutes, this set breaks the mold for Scrappers. Its extreme attack is getting the full critical bonus when originally an attack of 9.889 only got a critical bonus bringing it up to 12.666 -- Example would be Stalkers and Total Focus which is 9.889 when it criticals it only brings its damage up to 12.666 because that was originally the balance cap set in place by Geko and Castle preceding him.
