I see the whole debate over "Vet rewards are evil" about the same I see the whole "Vet badges are so unfair" topic over at badge-hunter.com Some people are of the idea that if they work really hard to get ALL the badges in the game, there should not be any badges they CANNOT get (tends to be (although not all) the same people that scream bloody murder over Celebrant, Reveler, and 5th Columnist. Even with them bringing back the Holiday badges, those 3, plus now Pursuer/Elusive, will NEVER be available again). I've been playing for 5 months (that's my vet reward time). The argument is that you can get the veteran badges, you will get them. I don't resent the badge-hunters that have been playing longer than me and suddenly have badges to prove it. They earned those badges. I will earn them someday.

You need to go back over my posts and read them again. I am not saying Veteran rewards are evil at all. In fact I LOVE the idea of Veteran rewards. I think the devs did a wonder full job on all of the new costume parts, and cant wait till I get my samurai armor. All I am simply saying is that powers should not be in the veteran rewards as it adds an unbalance to a game that prides themselves on balance.

I see what you're getting at, though: lets take this to some extreme. Imagine someone down the line w/ 5 years' of payed & played time on their account. Would they have 3/4/5 extra powers? Could they make it into a full chain then?

Perhaps a better solution would have been to introduce things like a "prestige brawl", which replaces your normal brawl. It'd be exactly the same as brawl, except maybe you attack w/ a buck knife, or brass knuckles; just a slightly different animation.

I agree with you 100%, twas the exact point I was trying to get to, I just lacked the words. Thank you.

Do you honetly think they will make the difference in the long run? Also, would you really be willing to pay for months if it gave you nothing but the vet rewards? How much is a permanant sands of mu worth to you? How much is a perm nemesis staff worth?

When you boil a game like this down to its raw element, the strategy becomes who can deal the most damage in the shortest amount of time, while keeping your own health up, and up until I8 there was no true answer to this question, there were some good answers but none were perfect, that is why the nerfing keeps happening to keep any one person (or team of people) from having any true advantage over another. But now with the addition of I8 there is a definitive answer, and that answer is he with the veteran awards. The proof is quite simply in the fact that you do use them. You might not use them often, but in the raw numbers game it adds a little extra. Take 2 lvl 10 INV/SS tanks with the exact same build the only exception being one has vet rewards the other does not, throw them in the arena against one another and see who wins.

Now admittedly at this stage in the game its not that big of an unbalance, and I am aware of other unbalances in the game that are so laughable that I will not mention here in fear that they will get nerfed. But the fact remains that more veteran rewards are planned, and more powers are planned in said rewards, so how many powers will it take before there is a clear and glaring unbalance in the game?
  4. A little of what I have noticed:

1st the crashes are annoying and I agree these need to be fixed. I have heard many rumors about the crashes being caused by capes. I don't know if there is any truth to this or not, but my main character has a cape on all of the time and the crashed seem to happen only when someone is around with a trench coat.

    - I have seen allot of people complaining about the red text when inspirations are full. I don't think this is a bug, an honestly think this is the way it was meant to work from the beginning but since so many people seemed to be bothered by it, maybe it should be set back to the way it once was.

    - Mobs out of reach (IE in ceilings or walls). This one seems to happen more than it did before and is a bit of a pain, but I wouldn't put it on the same level as all the random crashes. I wonder if it would be posable to write abit of code that would check a mobs location and force the mob to /stuck if it is in a place where it can not be damaged in melee combat?

    - Enter the mission of nothingness. I have noticed that on some missions when you enter you take damage as tho falling even if fly is on, and find yourself surrounded in a pit of nothingness. After playing around in it for a while I found that you are actually spawned on the outside of the walls in the mission and you can in fact fly up to the walls and see into the mission, after doing this you can /stuck and get to the correct side but will more than likely be torn apart by the mob you just spawned in front of.

and lastly this is not a bug but a glaring oversight on I8 veteran rewards a system has been created to reward players for the length of time that they have had an active account. Awsome, more power to you. The bigger issue is that inevitably there will come a time when NO ONE will be able to use ALL of the features of the game. As time rolls on inevitably everyone will miss at least one payment period. and there is no option in place for buying missed time. Now I agree 90% of this stuff is nothing more than "cookies" extra costume parts etc.. but the powers add an interesting balance issue. with all the nerfs that have been done in the past and are planned in the future, to counter mind this by adding extra powers to only those who have had their account for x amount of months seems silly, I meen where is the balance in this?
