Through a now-closed bug I can get Rogues into the Echo so long as they belong to one of a couple of groups I have under my tenure. They do get kicked out of Ouro and back to Atlas though

It is a shame that the portal only exists for one faction. Would be a great place to RP a 'flashback' of our own
  2. More choice? Yes.
    Twinshot? No thank you.

Twinshot is the bluside training contact. How much more training do you need before you start skipping over parts or clicking through the dialogue because you've heard it so many times.

The old five-origin contacts were awful which is why they were gotten rid of. Simple design but far too tedious, sending you all across Atlas and Galaxy for no reason other than the old philosophy of artifically lengthening the journey from 1-5. Which is why most of us wanted to skip 1-20 or we did sewer runs before it was somehow deemed necessary to turn it into a LFGtrial. The same will happen with Twinshot. Skip past and maybe go back and run it with friends (or via Ouro for the badges).

With the teleport to contact; people don't even need to make the run from Atlas to the Hollows anymore, missing out the east side and the south barely gets touched in all the new arcs. Another contact chain around the south areas wouldn't go amiss.

Redside; reactivating the old Kalinda->Mongoose and Burke->Creed chain. There was nothing inherently bad about the actual arcs themselves except the continuous repetition of Snakes. A little remoulding, perhaps expanding on Burke's Roguishness for more than two missions (nothing ever seem to come from planting those bugs at Fort Darwin). Maybe even the chance to betray Burke and sell him out to Arachnos to curry their favour OR help him stick one up them, earning their respect?

Thankfully all the old arcs can be flashback'd. And I'm glad Burke makes a cameo during the new Fire Wire arc. He's still looking out for the Rogues in the Isles.

There's also a decision you can make early on that comes back in a good way later on in Mercy. Plus you do get a choice of whether a contact lives or dies (although the message you get when you try to call them is stupidly written).
  5. I've had bases left unattended for months at a time. In one case I had an alt group that had been left a year because of a lapsed sub and it took a day for it to properly reactivate which to me implies that after a certain amount of time; bases get archived in order to save space, memory or processor time on the instance server.

The method they have now, whatever it is, is probably the best way for them at the moment.

I've never been spammed by requests for help even before I hid from searches. I do keep a look out on the help channel and try to help the newcomers and returners. Of course Server Mileage May Vary.

I think that's the point of VIPs only being able to pay rent; enticing Premiums to sub to cover whatever overhead of running a base on the servers is. The more subs they get, the better and less premiums building up bases (potentially) paying nothing back in. Or maybe the future addition of a Base License akin to the Auction and Invention Licenses.

No NPC contacts at all. I haven't checked in particular for any missioning contacts but the starting 5, BaBs, the Longbow merchants, Jack Wolfe and the SG Registrar have all gone along with the dayjob speaker and merit vendors.

Edit Just checked; contact is not in Echo:Galaxy.

I understand there's a flavor to the Patron pools, but seriously. The convenience needs to go both ways.
It's not 'convenient' for Villains at all, it's frustrating. For a long time they just had one pool only then the patrons were unlocked wholesale and there was still the ever-present disparity of having no ancillaries automatically. And in those fights? E-Bs aplenty that not everyone can handle solo and powers that only the mission holder gains access to.

So Villains/Rogues still have to jump through hoops, they just don't have to side-switch to get through the first one.
  11. Solution? BUS SERVICE!!

New Faultline gives a scenic tour service for citizens and they happen to put criers at each of the stations who say "Come see Faultline, see the sights where heroes once gathered, buy some souveneirs..... please buy something"

Arcane beacon takes you to Galaxy City, Tech beacon takes you to the Echo, the Arcane beacon is broken because the teleporter still sends you to Galaxy City.

Sadly, it's an old post but if you checked the date before posting you could avoid necro-posting
Look up, back down, we're in 2011 with a reply to a thread that's two years old
What's that in your hand, back at me
It's a mouse that you clicked reply to before it posted. Look again; your post has now nercro-threaded.
Anything is possible when you search and reply before date-checking.
    I'm on a horse.

  15. Indeed, they've been most helpful when my account was tampered with and all my in-game quibbles and petitions.

Now if only marketing could catch up since I just got the Signature Story Arc email today

I couldn't find the exit on the first go (but no consequnces like instant death or rezzign at the hospital). Second time on my MM after she let the lackeys die, I had time to search and then it turned into a cinema-serial:

"Oh no, I can't get out of the exit! I'm trapped"
    TO BE CONTINUED....
"Oh no, I can't get out of the exit! I'm trapped"
    *pause to show imminent danger*
"Wait, I'll use the conveniently placed door just next to the exit. Thank god, I'm out"

The directions however got a sat-nav voice in my head: TURN. LEFT.

The contacts do show up on the map as a trainer because of the TF code used BUT this information is contained within the annoying pop-up telling me they want to speak to me. And this was one thing I get truly sick of. A Praetorian now has 7 CONTACTS aching to speak to them as soon as they get out the door (and the new sig arc contact will now make 8). I have learned to just click those things away asap and no doubt most others have since I heard plenty of calls in-game for the contacts' locations. The pop-ups do nothing but prove how annoying they get and why people choose to have software that prevents them launching in their browsers. THEY'RE IRRITATING!

I suppose the arc is a success because I didn't find fault with the story but the mechanics of the system (and spelling errors - 'conVering', really?). But one mechanic did work for me: the Freedom Phalanx. Villain side, end of the mission, timer counting down warning that the FP would show up.... AND THEY DID! All of them level 40 Hero and coming for me! Consequence and follow-through. Love it.

If there's more than one toon, the star passes to the next available member as per the inactive leader rule.
  19. My main villain already achieved his apocalypse: subversion.

In his universe (to avoid stepping on other peoples' concepts) he was scorned by Paragon City, left to fight Recluse head-on, won, brought Arachnos to the City and began helping stop crime. Over time they began a period of 'conversion', leading the autorities to take a swifter hand in dealing with the gang violence in and around the city, making it a safer place for the citizens to live in. Letting years slip past, dealing with the criminal element more swiftly and 'justly' and using his psychic abilities to indoctrinate the populous to seeing him as a positive element. And it worked. By the time the remaining heroes realised it was far too late to stop him and he began his campaign to conquer the world. With the indoctrination working on armed forces and the populous at large; capitulation became commonplace with the remaining countries simply surrendering to superior numbers.

So his 'apocalypse' is the one Wolfram and Hart wanted to avoid in Angel season 4

There will be Xmas specials just like before, both this year and the next, putting next years in the middle of the run. There'll hopefully be an easter special or two as well just before the Games start.

Assuming they do wrap up the Doctor's death this series/season. The Silence was left open last time, maybe this will too.

I mean the Daleks haven't shown themselves at all this series (which is good, means we hopefully won't get the rollaround daleks again).

  22. Log in Vigilante, play First Ward arc. Seed hunt begins, log out.

Log in Rogue, notice UI colours are the same as my Vigi's, change to proper deep red, finish Seed Hunt (no badge, grr), log out.

Log back in Vigilante to continue First Ward arc, deep red ui is now on my Vigi.

Oh and I had the Fog of War thing again depsite clearing it with Reveal on both characters 3 times now.

    Yes even with CoH:Freedom!!!

BTW did you know that ALL NA accounts took priority during the merger?
Yeah it included: Trials, Banned, Permabanned, etc.

N.B. I lost my ACTIVE EU @GLOBAL to an inactive NA ACCOUNT during the server list merge.
Thankfully they DID change any non-paid trial account to a random global @TRIAL XXXXX before the integration. I had checked several globals with my NA account and they had been changed afterwards.
  24. The beam rifles:

    Shock Rifle:

    Shard Cannon:

    Devastator:

I so wanted the shock rifle for one of my beamers. They were pulled early on so I don't know if there was some bug or they were just there for testing how they worked against the powerset or if (forbodingly) they were going to be on the market.
  25. It might be the pet dismissal bug. If you start at a higher level and then drop down to a lower one; pets are automatically released to prevent MMs and other pet users from having a major advantage.

Sadly the Ouro portal falls foul of this 'rule' as well. If you dropped team from a higher level that's why it's disappearing. If you didn't then it's a major bug.
