Quote:Stop playing the victim and stop misrepresenting. You're getting "lynched" not for wanting more free costumes, but for stubborn refusal to listen to corrections on inaccurate information you've given and for throwing the first barbs by calling people "fanboys".Well its kinda hard to tell with everyone in this post try to lynch me for wanting more free costumes.
No one said ultra mode was new costumes.
Saying they aren't doesn't make them not new costume pieces. They had to be designed from ground up. They couldn't just "add animation" to what was already there. They are new costume pieces whether you accept it or not. This isn't an opinion up for debate, it's fact. You're wrong. Period.Quote:well that and animated tails are no new costume pieces for me. Those are minor tweaks. -
Quote:Tails are costume parts. Weapon customizations are costume parts. And, really, you were saying NONE, not "none that I like"... You keep flipping back and forth from "costume pieces" to "costume sets", too. Make up your mind. And, I repeat, free costume sets were always a rarity. Very much so.Is this some kind of joke? Im talking about costumes AGAIN.
Animated tails, meh... They still look pretty damn ugly and old, animated or not. Look at the fox/wolf taild they added to the mutant pack. I see a difference.
Pistols are weapons, I love having more models but they only work for specific powersets.
Is hard to understand I meant costumes?
Like vanguard, roman, enforcer... All that stuff we had before and not getting now in a long while. -
Quote:i17. Animated tails ( Yes, they were new pieces. You saying they aren't doesn't make them not so ) and custom pistols for MMs.You keep saying we got costume pieces added recently for free...
I just cant find them.
For me a new variety of auras we already got is not a new costume piece.
A new reflective texture for few pieces is not a new costume piece.
Is easy to come and express that Im cherry picking and being selective with facts and reading, but nobody can proove and show what are those free costume pieces recently added you keep talking about. -
Quote:Quit reading what you THINK you see between the lines, then. No, Neko, that doesn't clear up that.
Clearly my posts should have indicated that you have in fact succeeded in hurting my feelings with your first post. Congratulations. Do you want a brownie for doing it again?
I avoid cursing in character to the greatest extent. The very reason I asked here on the forums, is because I didn't want to run off and break rules and hurt people needlessly, even if my opinion is different and I'd like to be able to curse on some of my characters. Instead of giving me a benefit of a doubt, you immediately assume I'm cursing non-stop, don't know anything about role playing, and I'm only asking so I won't be banned. -
You've obviously been very selective in your reading, then. We've had costume pieces added recently. Of course, you dismissed several as not counting. The full sets for free were always a rarity.

Quote:Err, no. It wasn't that simple. They couldn't "just animate the old ones". They had to make an entirely new piece with animation. They just happened to make them look like the old ones for consistency. They didnt came with new upgraded tails, just animated the old plain oudated ones
No, they get in a "defensive mode" because you came in and called them fanboys.... Well, before that, yeah, they disagreed with you. But that's not "getting in a defensive mode"... Get over yourself. This forum isn't divided up into "people who agree with you" and "people who are defensive fanboys".Quote:Lots of people are always in defensive mode in this forums when someone comes and say game isnt perfect and lacks this or that.
Uhhh....ultramode was for a ***LOT*** more than "a few metallic pieces". Ambient occlusion, advanced shadows, environmental reflections, water effects.... Turn them all on and the world really does look a LOT different. Sadly, my computer also cries, but that's not the point. -

Mainly because use of said term is considered firing the first shot

Quote:Our culture has dictated it to be so, thus, it is. You don't have to like it, but it's not going to change just because you don't like it. And people use the words to offend. So, in short, it's cultural standards and intent of use.Ok..I read most of this thread..and I tried to resist commenting, but just can't. I'm not saying anyone on this thread is wrong..or right. Everyone has made rather decent points in some way or fashion. My question is this. What exactly is it about the F-bomb, or the "S word",...etc. etc. that people find so offensive?
-
This really only happens if the one submitting the report was being vulgar and/or harassing as well.
-
Quote:Only one of those three I totally agree on. One of the other two, I kinda agree. But have you -seen- Raw?The only people I can think of that use vulgar language in a way that it doesn't seem offensive are Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and Eddie Murphy.
Of course you can, why wouldn't you be able to? You can report any violation of TOS you see. -

Quote:He can believe whatever he wants, but telling me how to RP *MY* character is overstepping the line.Long story short, he believes that Kheldians Should Be Kheldians very, er... vocally.
Like I said, as long as I'm not altering established lore... Some guy once was playing a Kheld and his bio went on all about how Khelds were somehow descended from ancient dragons and blah blah.... That's bad form. Using a Peacebringer to make an angel character, that's fine.
Right on top of his head, apparently. >< -

Quote:You're aware that was what we call a "joke", right? Why? The devs have admitted it.

Quote:Not that much to micromanage, really. The click heal is pretty obvious when it should be used. Instant Healing only really needs to be pulled out in exceptionally tough fights. Other than that, it's toggles, auto-powers, and one "OMGWTF!" panic button... The returns overshadow every other powerset. And this is after massive beatings with the nerf-bat.I disagree. I feel that regeneration can be one of the hardest scrapper secondaries to play. It's not like Willpower where you toggle up and bash face. No. You have a self heal, a +Max HP click, as well as fast healing being a click. You have to micromanage quite a bit.
That said, SR and WP are both very powerful sets as well. SR, when it's on it's ON. When it's off, it's way off. You live and die by the RNG, but, overall, it can be pretty damn awesome. WP is kinda the jack-of-all-trades secondary. Enough of a mix to cover the holes without being too powerful overall. -
Eh, disregard folks who make a big deal of it, I say. Don't need elitist snobs trying to tell me how to RP. Honestly, I think not being able to improvise within the system is a mark of BAD RP rather than good.

It appeared the be the usual attempt to argue that the rule doesn't make sense when the profanity filter is optional.

Quote:How many tips have you done in the past 24 hours? As the info provided in-game says, you can only get credit for 5 within a 24 hour period. ( Counting backwards. So if you did 4 23 hours ago and 1 23.5 hours ago, you'll have one available credit slot again in half an hour )I have a lvl 25 blaster I am trying to make into a vigilante. I am doing the tip missions but never get a morality mission, what am I doing wrong? I have been playing for the last ten hours but can only get to 8/10 points? HELP!!!
Edit: Wait...gotta check when I can. You sure it's 20, Cata? I coulda swore it was 24 hours... -

Beyond that, I'd say that in a comic book setting, more people are prone to want to be the good guys. That seems to differ in fantasy settings, though.

And made by SOE. So....yeeeeah....
Anyway, on double-xp: I've found it best to never assume there's going to be one. For folks like me, it's wishful thinking.
For folks that actually like the server-breaking swarms and farm team spam-fests, it's a nice surprise when they do happen.

Quote:The thing is, it's not possible to make a perfect filter. Either it's ridiculously easy to get around or it's going to be catching innocent words. It's also togglable because some people might not mid the occasional profanities among friends/SG-mates, but they still don't want to see the prolific profanity spewed on the public channels. Or they simply don't mind the mild profanities, but they do have an issue with some of the "worse" ones. Then there's the fact that not everyone agrees with the filter's idea of what is profanity. Some profanities are only profanities in certain contexts. ( Some context profanities aren't caught by the filter, even )If this were the case, I'd think maybe they'd just take a little time off somewhere to improve the filter rather than leave it broken and togglable.
Fix it up a bit. Because no matter how you look at it, having a filter togglable just makes it look heavily like, atleast to me, that profanity is acceptable to an extent, despite the ToS.
And, I'm sorry, but assuming the togglability of the filter overrides what TOS says is just plain stupid. The TOS makes absolutely no mention of the filter. Therefore, the existence of the filter is -OBVIOUSLY- irrelevant as far as the TOS is concerned, whether it's togglable or not. -

Quote:I'm not scolding, simply curious. Yes, it's simple to get to 25 quick. But as an experienced player. A newbie who never touched the game before 2 days ago, though? He's skipping a lot of content and will likely burn out on the game quick that way, especially if he's expecting something like WoW-style "endgame"...I think its silly that a few of you are scolding him for rushing. This game is easy enough that you can get to level 20 in a single day through duoing. I know, I've done it. Granted it takes hours to do it, depending on your difficulty settings, but why tell him he shouldn't be 25 yet? He said that he was teaming up with people while he was playing, and 1 - 25 in 2 days is very possible when you do nothing but team.
