How would you hold and position the shield as needed if both hands are occupied with a two-handed sword?

Quote:Mm, book club is close but not quite. Sitting around a poker table and someone pipes up with that revelation, perhaps. Still not quite right, though. Just in general, it strikes me as rude to throw out spoilers openly like that, as they're kinda being shoved in people's faces whether they want them or not. The forums shouldn't be a place people have to avoid just to avoid spoilers being thrown out IN THE TOPIC LINES of threads. Within the thread, sure.An analogy. We all love analogies. And then I'm shutting up about the issue.
Imagine you're a member of a book club that regularly meets up, and you discuss books.
Right at the start, one member of the club stands up and proclaims to everyone there "Professor Quirrell is possessed by Voldemort. I was surprised to learn this."
Some people say "yeah, I knew that". Other people complain that one of the singular plot points of the first Harry Potter book has been spoiled for them. The people that already knew say "don't bother coming here to discuss books if we're not allowed to tell you about them."
Even the person who originally spoke takes this view, saying that because the book has been out for so long, nobody should care about having something explained before they've read it.
Allowing people the choice to avoid the topic would be the polite thing to do, by explaining that they were going to talk about the plot of the book.
By forcing the knowledge on other people, they are being inconsiderate and rude.
All in all, though, the simple courtesy of a spoiler notice when posting about plot points like that isn't too much to ask. Or at the very least, keeping the spoilers out of the subject line. -

I still see it used that way occasionally. Not often, though. It's the latest use of the word I rail against, though. Mainly because it has cropped up specifically as a jab at homosexuals ( Homosexuality to some = "something bad/stupid/to be ashamed of". "gay" = "homosexual". Therefore, "gay" = "something bad/stupid/to be ashamed of" ), even if many who use it in it's new context don't think of that when using it.

Sure they do. Plot-centric information that is only revealed late in the storyline. Basically like walking up to someone reading a mystery novel in the first few chapters and saying "Oh, Bob did it..."
Yes, spoilers are INCREDIBLY rude by most peoples' standards. -
Quote:You know, reading the forums is how a lot of people learn tips and tricks when they're starting out in a game... Forums aren't an exclusive vets' club. Helping newbies is a big part of why they exist.Damn..get over it. If they are such NEW players..why would they be trailing about the forums reading every lil thread? They would actually be IN the game. Its not like teh post was made just to annoy people with spoilers.
So, what I'm trying to say is deflate your head a little and stop being such an elitist. -
Yes. Because I have this thing called "short term memory". Not everyone has the attention span of a chihuahua on crack.

Pff, I'd say it's been ingrained for at least a century now. It's nothing new...

Another Anime mainstay we DO have is the cherry-blossom shower: Leaves aura, tinted pink.
-
So what's your point? And dual pistols with silly twirls and flourishes are a mainstay of action movies in general and comic books. Anime is a LONG way from holding any sorta monopoly on that.

Quote:Funny thing about words. They can have multiple meanings:Decimate: A Roman punishment for cowardice in the legions. Every tenth man in the unit of the man who showed cowardice was killed.
Thus, Decimate means "To reduce by 1/10th" - I'm pretty sure that I'd want to do far more than THAT to my enemies, titan weapons or not!
The word the writer is seeking for is "Devastate" - I blame the hordes of uneducated news reporters who have confused the two for decades...

Quote:Granted. That covers both sides, though - the dissatisfied and the "fanboys". Kinda comes down to extremism on one side clashing with extremism on the other, and both generalizing the other side by their extremists. That and too many people can't read an opinion they don't like without dismissing it as "whining" to make themselves feel better (or try to shame the other guy into silence... or both)
...seems to work like politics and religion that way. ><
Then I'd suggest you take the advice you gave to me earlier. -
Why are you assuming I'm referring to anyone or any specific incident. The post I was replying to was about CS people putting trolls on ignore. I replied to that statement. I said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about people who disagree and/or are not "blind fanboys" being trolls. Do try to respond with what was actually said rather than strawmen you fabricated, people.
All I said was that I'd rather CS reps put trolls on ignore than try to waste time justifying themselves to them. I never said anything about who was and was not a troll. -
I never said I disagree with his grievance. Nor would it make him a troll if I did. It's his method of delivery that is the problem. But, I never called anyone a troll, I made a general response to a general statement. Given the conversation history, I know who you're referring to, though.

Well, the problem is that too many people can't give negative feedback without "whining". There's a difference between voicing your negative opinion in a constructive manner and just plain whining. The former is exceedingly rare on the internet.

Quote:Depends on which set and whether you're counting the tintable and non-tintable versions of some options as separate options. The base power set comes with... 4(?) skins. That's less than the other power sets as other have pointed out. Even with the "booster", the options feel a little limited but I think that's a case of each piece being so distinctive that you mentally eliminate most right off the bat.
