  1. LOTG's are their own animals in that sense, they don't conflict with other 7.5% rech bonuses.

Didn't realize you took down GM's without lore- Was this on your SS/FA/Soul?

Thanks for posting that. I assumed most people coming along for the badges would be familiar with the trial/mechanics but it definitely can't hurt to have more information available.

I should amend that forms are still useful on high end builds for set bonus mules. Dwarf attacks in particular are useful for reaching the s/l softcap via kinetic combats, BotZ/Winter's Gift in Dwarf step, and a steadfast res/def or KB protection in Dwarf itself.

Even with toggle suppression, Peacebringer forms would still be worthless on end game builds. Human form does more AoE damage than Nova and is more survivable than Dwarf when built well. The forms still have a purpose for leveling up and for those who choose not to use IO's though, and I think that's perfectly fine. There's really no conceivable way to make forms worth taking on a fleshed out end game build for PB's, but that doesn't mean they're worthless throughout the rest of the game, which is really the majority of it.

    • Fixed some untranslated string issues in the Mission Architect dialogs which could crash the game client.
    • When facing doppelgangers and custom enemies in Mission Architect, the player will see these enemies use more appropriate powers.
Does this mean the ambush nerfs aren't happening anymore?

It affects my game time because it kills the integrity of the game when things that are earned can be purchased. It invalidates the entire concept of progressing by playing the game in the first place. What is the point of working on a character when at this rate, we'll be able to buy level 50's, buy incarnate stuff, buy purple and pvp IO's, buy the I Win button?
  13. Sorry if that was the impression you got- I've already posted a datalink. I certainly don't want you to feel any obligation to offer your opinion, and that's not to say that it wouldn't be welcome. I just don't feel the need to post a readout for reasons I already mentioned, sorry if that somehow offends or upsets you.

And some people just won't bother. But they might bother if they saw something in your build that they feel needs to be commented upon.

I like to think I have a good enough idea of what I'm doing that a quick glance-over wouldn't be the best means of acquiring worthwhile feedback. DSorrow was more than helpful already- Thanks for your concern though.

Way to perpetuate the idea that things other players have earned should be purchasable. Following this idea, what is the point in playing the game at all? I've said this before, and I'll say it again: I have no gripes whatsoever with the game having things like new costumes, powersets (granted, they should remain balanced) or things like the rocket board and whatnot for sale for cash, but when it comes to things that actually alter character performance it is crossing the line.

If you're going to sell the most sought after enhancements for cash, why not sell incarnate powers or salvage too? Why not sell influence? Why not just sell 30 day access to the "I Win" button? Wanna buy every badge in the game? Sure, just send 40 bucks over! No one will ever have to actually play the game again!

First thanks for your input, and second I'll have to disagree with this part. I think resistance is going to be something I'll get more mileage out of, especially with perma PA on top of some defense, my thinking is that I really will not get hit often, but when I do I will take reduced damage.

    Quote:
    • Infrigidate: I wouldn't bother slotting it much. On my Illu/Cold I have a single Lyso HO in there because I pretty much never use it. I get all the slow I need out of Sleet, Ice Storm and Heat Loss.
I believe I have it slotted more conservatively on my Cold defender, but I was scrambling for places to pick up extra recharge- Heat Loss and PA are already relying on spiritual core paragon to stay perma. Heat Loss only misses perma by .19s pulling the slow set though, so I can do without it.

    • I'd also change your ancillary to Ice Mastery because you didn't pick Indomitable Will, which I think is the only reason to pick Psy Mastery in the first place. Ice Blast and Ice Storm boost your damage considerably and Ice Armor helps you get to the S/L soft cap.
Agree to disagree on the defense vs. resistance focus- I had indomitable will in an earlier draft, but ended up absently shifting things around and couldn't find the room for it; I'll actually probably go with fire mastery instead.
    Quote:
    • Sleet doesn't really need accuracy slotting. Sure, it's nice to have the procs fire on the initial tick, but you'll have their Defense Debuffed so that it'll hit on the second round. Having Sleet's effect perma (Rech < 30s if it isn't bugged anymore) makes accuracy slotting only profitable for the very first cast.
Hm, that's interesting. I don't feel I overslotted for accuracy by any stretch though, the value only being at 33% I suppose it wouldn't hurt to switch the Nucleo for a damage IO... I'm showing a ~16.7 recharge with a 30 second duration on my build.
    Quote:
    • Combat Jumping: I'd swap this for Maneuvers. More Defense for you and your team. Endurance should never be a problem with perma HL.
    That's a good call.

    Quote:
Benumb: It really wants accuracy. It's also a good idea to make it recharge in ~27 seconds to have the effect perma. This is pretty much your most powerful tool against hard targets (heavy -DMG and -regen, with -special) so you want it up all the time meaning it has to be perma and it has to hit.
Again, good call. I reappropriated the slots from Infrigidate for this.
    Quote:
I don't know how you're planning to play your Illu/Cold, but I have never felt the need for Aid Self. Then again, I went for S/L/Ranged soft cap along with perma PA, so the few hits that get directed at me (something along the lines of 0-3 every 60 seconds) usually miss so that my low regen is able to take care of that. If my regen can't handle it, there are always Respites which I need very rarely so I don't feel like devoting two power choices for that.
Yea, like you already pointed out it's a failsafe for if and when I do get hit- Even if it won't be for much in most cases, I still feel I'll get use out of aid self.

  18. My shade's name matches my global.
  19. Utilize your Gravitic Emanation and taunt proactively. If you're soloing on x8, they're still going to die a lot, but keeping your enemies both stunned and taunted as often as possible will be the best thing for their survivability.
  20. I've gotten a few questions about my build lately, so I just wanted to let anyone who hasn't seen other posts know that the build I used for this is not my current build on live- I've been sending the updated version out on a per-request basis but I don't want to post my current build on the board.

I will say that my attack chain is different than the one I used for this, my defense is higher, and it's noticeably more expensive. I've been working out a new feat to post, but in the meantime I just wanted to point out that people who see me reference my build in other threads might notice that it doesn't match up with the one posted here, so this is why.

When dealing with variable buffs you have to do all that for each portion and avg out over the total time.

That sounds... Tedious. I'll look into it tomorrow. For now though, obligatory Microsignal...

I've gotten some great input from TwoHeadedBoy on what all this Incarnate stuff means for human-formers (and how it completely changes the game for playing a human-former), so I'm in the middle of compiling that data into a newer, slightly expanded version of this guide.

Are you saying I should be using my base damage to calculate the damage increase per Mire target or the whole calculation? I thought he was asking for max dps w/ optimized slotting so the number should be accurate, even though it doesn't look like it is.
